This was a great stay, my only complaint would be the lack of parking. It's small and fills up quickly. There's street parking, but if you're there during a festival, you'll have to park far away.

Gorgeous hotel. Great rooms. Great bathrooms. Love the rooftop patio.. amazing views and great vibe! Like no other hotel.

Location and amenities were superb. Such a comfy bed and amazing rooftop bar. Loved the pool and hot tub! Top notch service! Close to down town, shopping, good, beaches. Loved this little town!

The Earl is a quiet, well maintained property. It has a good, free continental breakfast that gets you started right and has a nice bar and food menu for at night at reasonable prices. The staff was excellent and the rooms were clean and a good size. The only concern is the pool which is very small and has a giant support pillar right in the middle of it. Minor concern though, as the overall stay was excellent.

Nice outdoor hot tub for winter soak. Cozy lobby fireplace, nice bar area. Comfortable beds. Pool area had a mildewy smell. Water pressure/amount was pretty low in the room.

The property is clean and in good location but the only problem is the parking. There is no enough spots for their guests . I would say 25 spots for 55 rooms is not acceptable. You might need to park in the street but it is safe area . Staff are nice and helpful. Rooms are renovated and very clean . Small clean pool and nice jacuzzi outdoor is a plus .

Upon check in, our room was not cleaned. They had no other rooms for us to take, so we waited for staff to “clean.” It was only given a quick once over, and the staff threw away my son’s leftovers. After assuring us we could leave our belongings in the room during cleaning, Staff left our room door open & unlocked while she went elsewhere to gather supplies. Later, I stepped on a screw on the room floor and found a nasty bottle of used KY jelly on the bed platform. Pool was closed half the time, and bummed out the kids. Parking was AWFUL, no room whatsoever, had to park on the street and got ticketed for doing so.

Took my wife for an overnight trip for her birthday. We always drive by and said we should stay there sometime. We finally did and it was awesome! The place was clean and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We will definitely return

This is a great location for Charlevoix! We were able to walk to the beach, shops and meals and that was exactly what we were looking for. We loved how updated and modern the hotel was. The room was very clean except the shower floor and shower curtain, both of those really need a deep clean but other than those things, I was overall comfortable with the cleanliness. There is a fire detector in the bedroom on the ceiling which is definitely a must, but this one flashed a light constantly so that was very annoying all through the night when we were trying to sleep. Overall we were very happy with our stay!

Beautiful hotel. Bath and shower were not very clean. Check in was 4pm. This is too late. Should be 2 or 3. We requested early check in. We were able to get in by 1:30. We enjoyed the rooftop bar.

Very well decorated and unique hotel with good service and breakfast but rooms are not noise proofed. I could hear the people on either side of my room coughing and talking. Not private. Would not return.

Nice hotel. Only a couple of issues. Heating did not work properly, and it was either freezing cold or boiling hot. Reported to the staff a couple of times but no resolution. Also, Wi-Fi kept disconnecting after a while for no reason. Those were minor points though. We liked the hotel overall.

Rooms are spacious and the balcony is fun

Never saw a hotel where they provide free in room ear plugs as part of the standard arrival items. Given the paper thin walls and floor, constant door slamming, etc. they were unfortunately appropriate. Surprising for a so called "upscale" hotel.

Noisy! You hear everything in the hallways. People talking. Doors closing. But that pales compared to the noise if someone is in the room above you. I actually called the desk about it but nothing changed. It sounded like a clogging convention. The fridge reeked of leftover food even tho it was empty. Thermostat didn’t work as it kept saying door or window open. It wasn’t open. The early Monday morning dumpster pull right outside my door wasn’t fun either. Beware as parking is very limited. Great location but not enough to offset the other issues. If you go I would highly suggest a room on the top floor.

My balcony suite was generous is size. I loved the minimalist decor. The hotel is within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. A perfect place to enjoy the beautiful town of Charlevoix.

No closet in our room. A/C system very loud. Not enough parking places. No microwave in room. Only 2 drawers for clothes. Noise from room next door because of suite door.

Hotel was nice and close to downtown. Bed was uncomfortable and pillows get lost between the wall and the bed frame. The floors and walls are also paper thin. Can hear people walking above very loudly throughout the night and people talking next door. Walls are so thin we could hear people zipping their suitcases.

Our hotel room was very spacious, clean, and modern, and the king bed was extremely comfortable. The fitness room has limited equipment options--a treadmill, weights, and a Peloton bike. The pool is small, but it has a waterfall-like fountain feature that is fun. The outside deck and Hi-bar are amazing features. We loved getting to look out at the water and downtown area at night! Breakfast was also a pleasant surprise. The food was high-quality and delicious with a reasonable number of options. We were impressed that it was well-stocked the whole time from 7-10 am! The hotel's history is interesting, and it's nice to see parts of the original design incorporated into the remodel. The hotel is conveniently located to the downtown area, the lake, and the mushroom houses. Overall, it was a great stay. Our only complaints are that the hotel has extremely limited parking (we had trouble finding a spot when we arrived at 9 pm) and the rooms need better soundproofing (we could hear the outside door opening and closing all night long and our neighbor showering in the middle of the night).

Staff were exceptional! Rooms are great. Two bars contained within the hotel. Charlevoix is a charming town within a short drive to Petoskey and Harbor Springs. Area is excellent for various activities.

We enjoyed our stay at the Earl so much. The room was lovely and beautifully decorated. I loved the bathroom products and we enjoyed the little amenities in the room. The staff was top notch and so friendly. We will definitely be back to stay here again!

The hotel itself was modern and sophisticated. The rooftop patio was the largest I’ve ever seen with plenty of seating and attentive staff. The check-in process was a little clunky if you’ve never stayed here before. As we learned, you walk into a bar/living room-type vibe. As we discovered, you checked into your room at the bar, but since it was unmanned, we wandered around for a while until we found a staff member who reoriented us back to the bar to check in. Other than that, we loved the modern-styled rooms and even the under-bed lightning, my wife’s personal favorite. It is worth noting the location of the hotel is very close to the drawbridge in the main road and all night long we were woken up to the sound of big trucks and trailers banging getting on and off the metal bridge. An unfortunate drawback to such an otherwise lovely hotel.

Accommodations have been as advertised and promoted. A premium hotel at a good value. Staff has been super cordial and hospitable. Very conveniently located. High-quality place and well managed, definitely has a culture that's customer focus with pride of service

A variety of restaurants within walking distance and a great roof top bar. The AC unit was a little noisy at night.

The hotel staff our last day were awful. The cleaning maid walked into our room without knocking while I was standing naked in our room trying to get dressed. The matter worsened when Brandon, the manager, was extremely unprofessional, cavalier and smug. He actually laughed at me when I informed him of what happened. He stated if you’re late, we don’t need to knock. Since when does human decency leave to that degree. His customer service was poor and I would never stay there again.

The property is very unique, situated near the bridge. The rooms are large, with a very good shower area. The lobby is nice, with plenty of seating, and a nice original fireplace.The rooftop bar is also very nice. The parking is not very good. unless you leave your car in the small lot, you will be parking on a one way street, about a block, maybe more away from the property

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was nice, especially the fireplace is the lobby. It was so easy to walk to downtown.

Property is walkable to all downtown shopping and dining options. Safe was very friendly during check in. Breakfast wasn’t even a standard hotel continental breakfast. Room was big but was not worth the price.

I was excited to stay at the Earl. The hotel met all of my expectations except from an audible perspective. My king room, which I believe was 100 or 101, offered a unique view right on main street and next to the drawbridge. While the room itself was great, my headboard was up against the kitchen area, the drawbridge opening was well heard, especially in the early morning, and the elevator along with the passing guests kept me well informed of the evening wine tasting.

We had a room with king bed and comfortable couch/sleeper. Room and bath were tended each day and everything was clean. Only hot breakfast items were make your own waffles or oatmeal, but pastries looked above average and fruit and hard boiled egg available also along with juices and yogurt. Fun coffee/latte/hot chocolate maker. Staff always responsive. Enjoyed the fireplace in the lobby too.

Property was decent, not sure it was 4 star material. Room was clean and modern. Shower door wouldnt close and front desk only offered towels to soak up the water in the bathroom Breakfast was pretty pathetic. Hard boiled eggs, couple pastries, waffles, and yogurt was all they had. Coffee bar was a nice touch, but coffee beans were cheap & gross. Hot tub was very hot and pool was really cold. Would be nice if they balance those out a little bit

The property is nicely decorated and the rooms are clean and spacious. It’s close to everything with just a short walk away. We had such a terrible experience at the rooftop bar, though that left a lasting impression. We arrived early in the evening around 8:30 and there were only a few tables occupied. After waiting for 15 minutes, we decided to approach the bar and ask the three workers standing around if we could order a drink and some food. It took another 15 minutes to get two glasses of wine, which tasted flat. The pizza was absolutely disgusting (how do you ruin a pizza!). After waiting for another extended time, we went back to the bar and ordered a mezcal negroni. 15 minutes later they brought me a clearish green drink and i told the server that was not a mezcal Negroni. He insisted it was and I decided to taste it in case I liked it. It tasted like a Sprite with vodka and I sent it back. We had enough and asked for our check as we were going to try our luck at the bar downstairs. They charged us $106 for two glasses of $18 flat wine. We brought it to their attention and the three workers were discussing amongst themselves while gigging and laughing about it. They adjusted the charges and presented us with a fake apology. We then went downstairs to grab a drink only to find out they closed early. It’s a shame to witness the blind eye that oversees the food & beverage side of this hotel.

Affordable and modern. Great breakfast and clean rooms. Parking was challenging as the hotel acknowledges this ahead of time. Staff were readily available.

Breakfast was ok, mostly pastries/bread/bagels/waffels. Appreciated the hard boiled eggs to have something other than bread. Hotel was clean, person doing the check in was unenthusiastic and didn’t give much info about the hotel at all. Room was nice, having a balcony was really nice to enjoy the outdoors from your room. Overall the place was good for an overnight stay.

The hotel is recently completely renovated so everything is very new! The room is average size and nothing too special. We stayed at a time when the price was fairly reasonable but in the summer it’s crazy expensive and I personally wouldn’t pay that much. I’m sure the rooftop bar would be cool in the summer. The breakfast was very good but the gourmet coffee is a machine

The hotel was nice. But overpriced. The is a $10 PP “resort fee” each night which includes breakfast and specialty coffees and tea all day. We arrived at 3pm for check in and wanted coffee to head out for dinner with. We were with in walking distance of the restaurant. The coffee was not a specialty espresso or anything near “specialty” it was a cold cup of coffe from a stainless carafe. I mentioned it to the staff at the front desk as we left, hoping they’d have a hot pot out by the time we came back from dinner. She said “oh that pot doesn’t keep it warm, it’s just candle under it. And it’s from breakfast.” I said well maybe you can make a new pot for when we return. After dinner, it was still the same, cold coffee. The room was nice. But the walls are very thin. We could hear all our neighbors. There are dogs allowed at this hotel, BEWARE!! we had an upstairs neighbor with a dog barking for hours. We called the front desk and were told that quiet hours start at 11 pm. Thankfully the dog was quiet by then, but we had to listen to it barking and running around above us for hours. Breakfast is very limited, mainly sugary foods. Nothing substantial. Not even a great supply of yogurt, it was only cheap Dannon “light and fit” yogurt. Not what you’d expect, when you’re paying an extra resort fee. (When their pictures online show Chobani). Our room was nice and clean. It was a big corner room with a good size balcony. Bathroom was modern.
