Occidental Alicante

Poco cómodo y sin servicios básicos esperados en un 4*. No hay servicio de habitaciones, ni disponen de cafetería ni zona bar, eso si "te dejan" pedir comida y que te la traigan al Hotel. En cuanto al confort es un hotel bastante incómodo y necesita una reforma (excepto la entrada). Los pisos tienen un fuerte olor como a tabaco rancio (creo que proviene de la moqueta). Habitaciones justas con camas imposibles. En resumen: relación calidad precio muy mala. No tiene parking pero colaboran con uno cercano y el precio dia está bastante bien

Such a great little hotel!! Staff is super kind and helpful. We loved being right off the main drag and close to the Mercado. Lots of great storage for unpacking all your staff. No big deal but they do not have laundry service as advertised. They recommended a laundry mat up the road that had fast machines so it worked out just fine!

Very enjoyable stay. Spacious room. Bed was so comfortable. Lovely bathroom. Clean, modern and nice cool temperature. In a great location. Parking close by. Highly recommend

Booked a weekend stay for myself, my daughter and niece Hotel room was lovely Beds very comfortable Staff very friendly and helpful Great facilities in the room No view from either window, which was the only disappoint. You could not tell what the weather was looking out either window - photo below Hotel is in a perfect location for tram, bus, walk to castle, marina, beach Would describe the hotel as a city centre hotel with limited hotel facilities - the room was perfect for our brief stay though

Ett hotell med bra läge för att besöka Alicante, men det har en stjärna för mycket och inte prisvärt. Bra frukost avsaknad av restaurant och bar.

Sehr praktische Lage, alles zu Fuß gut erreichbar, zahlreiche Lokale in der Nähe. Frühstück für Spanien sehr umfangreich. Saubere Zimmer mit Kühlschrank und Klimaanlage/Heizung. Kooperation mit Garage San Cristóbal: 24h für EUR 10 (01/25). Garage kann abends zum Wochenende sehr voll sein aber wenn man kurz wartet, fährt immer wieder jemand raus.

Good central location near a huge variety of bars and restaurants. Helpful reception staff. Good cleaning and towel change. Coffee machine in lobby for limited hours was good but would have preferred a kettle in the room.

Hotel very clean and well maintained, quite basic for 4*, room we had was at rear very small for the city, no view and bathroom exceptionally small for two people, condition of hotel was good and staff very nice, only stayed 2 nights so not great problem but would not like stay for longer !

Nice hotel in a central position. Nice lobby & staff. Family room had a smaller 1st room with the potential for 2 single beds & then a lovely large king size plus bed & a shower room. The beds were comfortable but the truckle bed under the single hadn’t been cleaned & wipes were hidden behind the long curtains. There was also a gadget that sounded like a coffee machine in the bathroom that kept going off every 20 mins. We only needed to stay 1 night. It isn’t the type of hotel to stay for more than 2 nights. The view was to an internal “courtyard”. Aircon worked ok. We ate out so can’t comment on the restaurant.

Zimmer klein Bettwäsche war dreckig, wurde jedoch direkt nach Ansprache gewechselt. Sehr gutes Frühstück Badezimmer modern und sauber

I have just returned from a 3 night stay at this property having visited many hotels in Alicante. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were fantastic. The bed and pillows are probably the most comfortable I've ever slept in! Breakfast, although slightly confusing for someone from Scotland (There was a lot of cooked vegetables. I don't understand that!), was fantastic. There is a mixture of breads, sandwiches, yogurts, cereal as well as bacon, eggs beans etc. Absolutely something for everyone. The room although small had everything I needed and again was spotless and well decorated. The room had an amazing shower which was very relaxing after a day of wandering around. The only downside to this property (for some) is that it is located directly across from a pub which goes on until 3 or 4 in the morning at the weekend. It is very noisy at the front of the hotel. In all honesty, this didn't bother me as I was in another pub until 4am so it was quiet by the time I returned. I would certainly return to this hotel without hesitation, but if you are not on holiday for the nightlife, you might have an issue with rooms at the front of the property.

Room was very clean, bed and pillows very comfortable. But even for a city centre hotel the room and bathroom small and cramped for the price paid. Breakfast was very good, staff were pleasant

The hotel has an excellent location in the centre of the town within walking distance of everything. The room was clean quiet and comfortable with huge twin beds. Staff were friendly and helpful, with straightforward check on and out processes. We slept really well!

If you want to sleep before the nightclub closes at 4am across the street don’t book this hotel. The windows provide no sound proofing and the street is full of people going in and out of the nightclub till 4 am. It’s a nice hotel but the location lets it down. Thank goodness it was only an overnight stay. Worst Barcelo I have ever stayed in.

Trevlig personal som alltid är behjälpliga, gratis kaffe vid receptionen och läget är väldigt centralt så det är promenad avstånd överallt. Enda nackdelarna är att rummen är lite för små och instängda utan någon direkt utsikt men väldigt fräscha rum annars.

Perfect Location, 10 minutes walk to the beach, many shops/restaurant around. Room was clean and ok , but very small. Polite, helpful Staff specially the Asian Lady at Info Desk.

Room very small tight to wall on each side.. Our room looked onto another building which made the room dark most of the time. Didn't have breakfast as plenty of cafes near buy. The best thing about the hotel is the location.

Room was fine, just the sound proofing is not good enough and the 24/7 shop outside means you most likely will be woken during the night.

I had a room directly across a night club and between 12am and 4am it was quite loud because of all the people standing outside. And also because I think the windows are not really isolated. But other than that I had a pleasant stay and everything was fine.

Huge and comfortable bed

Room at the back where the view was the window of the room opposite so we never felt able to open the blind. Good thing was that it was very quiet with no noise from outside so overall we were happy and will stay again.

Lovey hotel within walking distance of the old town, the port and rail and bus stations. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Delicious varied continental breakfast with complimentary coffee daily. We definitely will be back to the Occidental Alicante.

The hotel stay was great. Reception staff amazing Sheila,victor Gianina. Location excellent I will certainly stay here again. Barcelo is great value for money

I asked for my safety deposit box to be fixed - it never was over the 4 night stay - very inconvenient as had to carry my valuables around with me. The air con didn’t work (again this was ignored) and in the muddle of the night the fridge started making a ridiculous noise!

Really nice hotel in excelleng location. Only a couple minutes walk to where most of the restauraunts/bars are located and a short walk to the beach. Staff very friendly and gave us recommendations and also organised a taxi for us for our early flight. Would stay again if returning to Alicante.

Unfriendly staff

Excellent location within the tourist section of the city. Everything is a short walk away from the hotel. The pick of restaurants, tourist attractions and of course the beach. Very friendly and helpful hotel staff, easy check-in process (although the online check-in option before you arrive didn't work for me). Amazing breakfast options from cooked bacon, sausage and eggs, cooked vegetables mix which I haven't seen anywhere else. Cold meats, cheese, bread etc. Limitless coffee and tea from a single machine (so be prepared to queue). More pastries than you can possibly eat in a week of breakfasts. Excellent value for money. The room we had was unfortunately on the first floor, which means NO windows. At least not usable as it opens onto a vertical shaft that has all the air conditioning and heating ducts in it. No daylight. The room was a family room, so a decent size. Good sized bathroom with an excellent walk in shower. Plenty of towels, although paper thin. Plenty of USB sockets around the room for charging stuff, which was very welcome. Apart from the suitcase full of European adapters I had hauled all the way from home! The Occidental is equal to, if not slightly better than the chain hotels from Travelodge and Premier Inn we have here in the UK. Very clean and functional without cluttering up with too much character. Would happily stay here again, but if staying more than one night we would ensure a room with a usable window giving some daylight.

This was a clean, well presented hotel. The only issue was that our room wasn’t ready 1.5 hours after 3 pm check in time.

This hotel is centrally located within walking distance of the train station, the bus station, the Mercado, downtown shopping and the lovely sea-side walk. The area is active at night with locals & tourists - it feels safe. It is close to historic sites too.

Location is superb

Reasonably pricedModern hotel with good amenities in excellent location at the edge of the historic quarter and with tram and bus stops in close proximity. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed ,toilet and shower good Buffet breakfast had comprehensive choice(yummy scrambled eggs) However my room on 2nd floor at front of building subjected to loud and intrusive noise from traffic and revellers for most of the night(Christmas time ) Overall would recommend

All hot food at breakfast was cold.

Rent och fräscht, bra läget. Trevliga personal. Det var lite problem med frukost på morgonen, kaffe maskin som fungerar inte bra, annars helt okej.

This hotel is nice and centrally located for sightseeing and restaurants. Nice breakfast but a little pricey, but it gets the day off to a good start. Clean tidy, don’t expect a view.

Great location. Should mention how close to airport bus stop in your info. We didn’t realise and travelled in to bus station and got taxi. Amazing breakfast. Really too much. You could cut out the “snacks”.
