Micampus San Mamés Students Residence

One of the towels had several brown stains, and was definitely not clean. I needed to wait for a new towel until the cleaners began working… but at least they changed. The aircondition could only change between 23-25 degrees. The toilet sucked, and barely flushed down.

The room was unclean: there was olive oil on the countertop, the windows are dirty outside. The duvet in the wardrobe had large dark stains on it. The staff were great, as was the aircon, and the location of the hotel is fine if you don’t mind walking or taking the tube. While I understand this is a budget option in Bilbao, I just do not believe that cleanliness is a luxury.

No pude viajar por una urgencia médica. La cancelación anticipada caducaba TRES días antes del inicio de la estancia, a las 18:00 horas. En cuanto salí de urgencias (17:30) y me dijeron que no debía viajar, intenté cancelar la estancia. Intenté llamar (fuera de horario) pero no fue posible. Envié whatsapp explicando la situación y aún estoy esperando que me respondan. Solo conseguí hablar dos veces con ellos en los días sucesivos; un día la respuesta fue que no era cosa de ellos, y el otro, la persona no tenía ni idea. Reclamé a través de Hotels.com y el trato fue todo lo contrario, entendieron la situación y trataron de resolverlo (aún faltaban dos días para el inicio de la estancia). La respuesta fue negativa, no accedieron a devolverme el dinero de la estancia. Resumen: 1- Ante una urgencia es imposible contactar con ellos (ni teléfono, ni whatsapp ni email) 2- Ante un imprevisto, tres días antes, y pasándome 30 minutos de la hora de cancelación, no tienen la flexibilidad (que sí tienen en otros establecimientos) como para devolver el importe de la reserva. 3- Si ese imprevisto es una urgencia médica, no tienen la más mínima condición humana como para flexibilizar (media hora) las condiciones de cancelación.

Muy buen lugar para hospedarte solo

Above my expectations considering the cheap price. This is a student housing but worked well as a hotel, the only minus were lack of toiletries (this was highlighted in the booking information but it is in my opinion an easy thing to add for shorter stays or on request). The hotel is close enough to the centre to walk, but there is also good communication and transportation.
