The Rundlestone Lodge

I recently stayed at the Rundlestone Lodge and overall had a comfortable experience. The room was a good size and well laid out, with a king bed, TV, desk, and a pullout sofa. One feature I really appreciated was the amount of lighting-there are plenty of lights, and each is individually controlled so you can customize the room’s brightness exactly how you want it. I do wish the bedside lights had a lower brightness option so they wouldn’t disturb anyone trying to sleep. Noise from other rooms could be heard at times, but it was never overly bothersome. The curtains are overlapped to help block out light; they aren’t perfect blackout, but they do a sufficient job. Temperature control in the room was easy, and the bed itself was excellent;great firmness, soft bedding, and pillows with varying firmness to choose from. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. A couple of small in-room additions would be nice, such as to-go cups for coffee/tea in the morning and maybe even some hot chocolate packets. There’s no on-site restaurant, so little conveniences like that would go a long way. The pool was a bit underwhelming. It’s a simple rectangular pool with a maximum depth of 1.4m, somewhat dark in terms of lighting, and noticeably over-chlorinated, which seemed to bother several guests. On the positive side, the free heated underground parking and free bus pass were fantastic perks. The front stopping area, however, is very small and can get tricky if other guests

Rooms were clean, staff was very friendly, check in/ out process was super easy. The pool was very cold though and the kids weren’t able to swim, but yhankfully we were able to sit in the hottub. Everything else was great

This was a really great property for the price. The hot tub and pool were nice, underground parking was easy to get in and out of. The room was basic but clean and quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

The lodge is closer to the edge of town, so there isn't a lot of noise. It's about a 20 minute walk to downtown where all the shops are. The property itself is okay; rooms are dated and could use some maintenance in regards to cracks in some of the moulding and wall of bathroom and shower. The carpets are old and uneven. The minifridge in our room was so loud that it woke me up in the middle of the night. The TV is old and its aspect ratio is incorrect for the size of the screen. Also, our bed was several feet from the TV, so the remote didn't work if you rested against the headboard because you'd be too far from the TV. We didn't get our room cleaned because we had a do not disturb sign on our door, but when we asked for fresh towels the staff was prompt at delivering. There was no restaurant or bar when we stayed but there was last time we stayed here, so I don't know if that is seasonal or permanent. However, there are lots of other good options close by. The pool and hot tub are also dated and could be cleaner and repaired in a few spots (places where tiles have fallen off). The hotel is child friendly, so if you are looking for some relaxing time in the hot tub it is unlikely since we found parents were letting their kids splash around in it despite a sign stating no children were allowed in the hot tub. Overall, it was a fine experience. I picked this hotel because I think what you get for the pricing is fair.

Quaint hotel in downtown Banff. Don’t expect lots of bells and whistles. Expect clean rooms, great housekeeping, proximity to ski shuttle stops, nearby restaurants and a 10 min walk to the busy area of downtown. No restaurant on site, but plenty nearby. The pool and hot tub is a plus. Complimentary coffee too.

The property is showing signs of age and needs a facelift. Nothing major just cosmetics. Everyone was attentive. Very quiet and underground parking was plentiful and spacious.

Nice hotel. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Good breakfast, lots of selection. Only downside was all the elevators were out order

Underground parking was awesome and so was the free roam tickets that the hotel provided free of charge. The carpet needs updating but the room in general is clean

The staff were very courteous and friendly. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The pool and hot tub were greatly appreciated after a full afternoon of walking. The hotel provided us with transit passes for the ROAM buses which made trips back and forth to downtown very easy. The bus stop was right next to the hotel. Appreciated that they support "mountain' brands by providing Rocky Mountain Roasters coffee and Rocky Mountain Soap Company shampoo, soap and lotion in the room. Overall...a truly great place to stay.

Room was spacious, clean, and very quiet. Furnishings are a bit outdated but the price was reasonable so it was expected. The pool and hot tub are nice and there were always towels available. Hotel is easily walkable to downtown and the complimentary bus pass is great for colder days. Heated parking was easily accessible and we always found a spot. I appreciated the complimentary coffee in the lobby. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The room was very dusty and dirty. I had to wipe down the table where the coffee machine was standing. The hot tub had dirt at the bottom of it and it was just warm. Didn’t enjoy our stay.

Everything was clean and spacious. Comfortable beds. Free coffee in the morning is a nice touch. Front desk staff are helpful.

This property is absolutely disgusting! Mold on the ceilings, stains on furniture, black dirt coming from air vents, dirty toothpaste in sink. We were in this hotel for five minutes and walked to the front desk and told them we could not stay there. Luckily they were nice and accommodating and allowed us to cancel our reservation. They definitely aren’t keeping up on the property and do not prioritize cleaning between guests.

Staff was very professional and friendly. Room was very spacious and as described.Room Cleanless not good,found hair on the floor and skittles by the night stand.Building was a bit outdated,carpet wasn't clean and was old. Overall good location,lots of restorants walking distance.

Overall was a good stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Age of the building and furnishings are showing, but the staff had great customer service skills and parking was accessible underground. We got snow, so the parking was a perk. The gym and pool/hot tub area were also clean and a decent size to enjoy. I'd definitely recommend.

This hotel had a nice pool and hot tub. The rooms are a bit dated but it made it kind of charming and rustic, the perfect feel for a mountain town like Banff. We had a balcony with a couple of chairs that was a really nice touch. The room was spacious and absolutely SPOTLESS. For older finishes there wasn’t a speck of dirt or dust in any nook or cranny. The toiletries are AMAZING! They use Rocky Mountain Soap Company toiletries. They were lemongrass so they smelled amazing, weren’t harsh on my skin and made my hair feel amazing. The lady at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. One side note: trucks don’t fit in the underground parking. There were parking spots behind the hotel but if you are staying at this hotel and expecting to park in the underground parking that is included you won’t be able to.

A really lovely stay at Rundlestone Lodge! Staff were very friendly and its walkable distance to downtown Banff. Free self parking and complimentary bus pass available. Rooms were lovely and had working air con which was needed after being out all day! Only negative is there were no usb ports available which we had at all our previous hotels so we only had one adapter!

No view of the mountains, just next building. Room was spacious for mobility of parent. Bathroom was easily accessible.

Our room was unbelievable hot. We have two kids below the age of 4. We even dropped the temperature down to 17 degrees at night, could barely sleep. Insanity.

The room was very Canadian-style and clean. The washroom was old and small. Indoor parking lot(Free). The staff was very nice. It was walkable to the shops area of Banff, around a 10-minute walk.

Room thermostat did not work, room was very hot the entire time. Also, tv did not function properly. Reported it to front desk who offered to have someone come to the room in 3-4 hours. (Which would have been 11 pm)

Stayed at Rundlestone Lodge for 3 days and had a great experience. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the beds were super cozy after long days exploring Banff. The staff were really friendly and helpful, which made the stay even better. We loved having the pool and hot tub to relax in, and the location was perfect, close to Banff Avenue but still quiet. Overall, it was a comfortable, easy stay and I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

All the staffs are accommodating. Kudos to all of you 👍 And they will guide you for your itinerary in banff, also they give a free bus ride for 3 days amazing 😊

One receptionist trying to check in a large number of people meant the queue was literally out of the door at one point. The process was so antiquated and cumbersome, please do yourselves a favour and bring check in into the 21st century; or at least have more staff available that are trained properly in your processes. Checking in is the first impression your customers get of your service, it matters. Hotel itself was fine for an overnight stay, underground parking a bonus and the location is good if you're happy to walk or take the bus. Complimentary bus passes is a nice touch.

Adele from the staff was super nice she even upgraded me to ha higher room category.

Clara welcomed us with friendly professionalism. She made sure we received the free transit passes that were good for our entire stay. She upgraded our room to a loft with hot tub. We said we didn’t need our room cleaned and received a note saying we could get anything we might be short of from the front desk. One of the staff saw us on our balcony and brought us two chairs for the deck. We were impressed.

3rd time staying at The Rundlestone. Good Price, comfortable. But as we have noticed in the past the Front Desk staff are the most disinterested Hospitality people we have come across. This morning at check out the gentleman was down right rude. He was talking to another staff member and did not acknowledge us at first but then looked up at us and said" Yeah" We said we were checking out, emailed us our invoice and basically that was it. No inquiring about our stay etc. Having said that the rest of the staff, maintenance and housekeeping, are quite friendly. There are a lot of other choices in Banff, great price, amenities and service.This is the last time we will stay at the rundlestone.

I arrived yesterday from Calgary, and I’d like to commend your front desk staff, Cleon. He was exceptional - he provided me with a room as early as 2 PM for an early check-in, which I truly appreciated. He also went above and beyond by assisting me with everything I needed, from arranging transportation and recommending restaurants to helping with luggage storage. Cleon truly exemplifies what excellent customer service means.

As other reviews have said. It’s an older hotel so looks a bit dated. It’s perfectly fine though! Rooms are big and comfy. The staff are super friendly. It’s about a 20 min walk from downtown. If you don’t fancy the walk you can use the free bus passes offered at the hotel.

The location is perfect for a stay in Banff. Easily walk the downtown…and you may even come across some Elk on the Banff Ave!

Hotel is in a nice and quiet area of the Banff town.

We stayed at Rundlestone Lodge in preparation for my sons wedding. It was quiet and very restful which is what we needed as the trip had been a tad 'busy'. The underground parking was a pleasant and unexpected surprise which helped a lot. We hopped on the bus just outside the Lodge (using our bus passes issued from the Lodge) and went into Banff shopping area within minutes. It was much easier using the free public transport rather than finding parking in an unfamiliar town.

This is a nice property but it's a older property and it is a bit of a walk to the downtown Benff but the hotel gave us three day passes for bus which was very helpful to get around the hotel is very clean and it had a rustic feel the only downside is there is no restaurant on site but there is restaurants in neighboring hotels otherwise we had a wonderful time

We did not receive our 2 $15 food and beverage daily credit nor did our receptionist know about it. All he said was “our restaurant is closed. It there’s another one down that ways a little bit”

Room was nice. Hotel needs food service inside for the size of it. This was a little inconvenient with not having a restaurant attached to it. Cafe in the next door hotel was the closest but didn’t serve food till 11.

The property is aging but it was comfortable with exception of the bed pillows. They are very hard! They offer tea and coffee in the lobby which was nice. I walk a lot so it was nice being a bit away from the downtown hustle and bustle. It is only 1 mile from main area. No restaurant within hotel but plenty of options within walking distance. The staff was very nice!

Enjoyed the pool, like that you can grab a free coffee on your way out to walk around the area.

The location was on the edge of town and quiet with an easy walk in. We were told we could use our $15 credit the night we checked in or the next day if we just told them at checkout that we hadn’t used it yet. So we planned to use it the next day, but then when we went to check out, we were told we actually Couldn’t use it later. Since there’s not a restaurant on site, this is not an easy thing to have a food voucher that’s at other hotels. They were all sit down dinner restaurants.

Great hotel, clean room, comfortable bed. Sad there was not a continental breakfast. Was here for our mini honeymoon, did not go above and beyond considering price per night but overall we were not disappointed with the stay.

Decent hotel, but was supposed to have breakfast and a restaurant and it was shut down so no Dining options. I wish I would have known prior to booking or I would have booked elsewhere. My VIP rewards meant nothing as the 15 dollar food credit to no food doesn’t work
