Was a little concerned about having to rely on the gondola or shuttle to the lodge. However it worked well for us. Was nice and relatively quiet. Room was nice. It was nice to literally be able to walk out the door and go hiking. Restaurant was very good. Only negative was having to wait on our luggage to be shuttled down to the bottom of the mountain. We ended up waiting an hour for a 10 minute shuttle.

What an amazing place to stay! The gondola ride from the parking lot up to the resort is beautiful and so peaceful. The resort is clean and cozy, with such friendly staff. The food was delicious at Chimney Corner and Trappers Tavern. The hikes through the property are abundant ranging from an easy stroll to more challenging treks with breathtaking views.

Beautiful location at the top of a gondola run. You will park at the base of the mountain and then use a gondola (included in your stay) to get to the hotel.

We had a great stay! Nice to have the ski in and ski out convenience. The food was good at both restaurants. The service at eagle nest with Henry was particularly great. The hot tub and sauna was fantastic after a long ski day.

Bold letters!! Hotel is on top of a ski mountain. Ride gondolla or car ride 15 min too hotel. So coming and going is not convenient. 2 restauramts at hotel there fine. One is a college bar and other is a fine dining. There is a carryout food option for breakfast thats good for coffee and pastries. Bed was average. View was great on top of mountain. Room attendants great. Staff good. Coming and going into bamf to hike was fine. About 15 min drive to downtown banf were there is more food and dinner options. We just always planned too never return to hotel untill we knew we were in For the night because of inconvience to come and go due to location on top of mountain. They have a nice hot tub so bring swim trunks. We had a good stay just know what ur getting into. Not ur typical resort hotel. Stayed in september

This lodge is at the top of the mountain. To get there they put you on a Gondela that takes 10-15 minutes (if there are no stops). At least in the summer the hours are 8am - 6pm. After or before that you need to use their shuttle bus. If you need to check out before 8AM make sure you sign up for your shuttle ASAP as they fill up. Plenty of summertime walking trails if you haven't already walked enough in the Banf Park!

We loved staying up on the mountain and being able to ride the gondola up and down. The shuttle bus to Banff helped a lot as we wanted to go back into town and not have to drive. The two restaurants and the cafe offered enough dining options for our two nights. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the brief guided hike was pleasant, as was the hot tub

Amazing hotel with fabulous accommodating staff. There were many hiccups during our travel unrelated to the hotel and the hotel staff was there to assist every step of the way. The gondola rides to and from the hotel were amazing and added that little extra flair to our adventure. The hotel itself is conveniently located within 30 minutes from Banff and many popular tourist attractions. The on site hot tub was very well maintained and made for an excellent end of day activity when you are looking to unwind and relax. They resort grounds also offer their own trails and views with a chance of seeing wildlife. Would highly recommend and would stay again.

Very helpful staff and willing to provide support to visitors. Interesting experience to live at the mountain. Nice hiking experience during summer. Gondola ticket included in the room fee. Quite value for money if you already decide to take the gondola at sunshine village. For visiting the hotel, people can either take the gondola and shuttle provided by the hotel.

This lodge is beautiful. There’s hiking trails on site. The staff are SO nice and so accommodating they really go above and beyond to make your stay amazing. There’s two dining options on site. The views, the amenities and the rooms are so clean and gorgeous. Everything was perfect. Would recommend to anyone.

Beautiful hotel on top of the mountain. Lovely staff, bed was comfortable and clean. Bathrooms are small, bathtub was clean, but there was a vent visible when you take a shower, I assume it was heater vent which was filled with dust and it wasn’t pretty. Also if you don’t have a car transportation is hard. Last bus from Banff to hotel base is at 5:20 and if you miss it taxi was close to $100 for 2 of us. But the area is very peaceful and beautiful.

Beautiful piece of heaven! I will definitely come back! Room and every single employee on the mountain was outstanding! Once again…. Room was spacious, clean, large ….. Then to watch the stars at night on our private patio… Did I mention the view of the mountains!!!

Inconvenient as far as site seeing is considered. We had to wait a long time to go up and down the mountain in the gondola. For summer /fall site seeing best to stay in town. Food selection at the cafe was not good especially for vegan/vegetarian. Rooms are tiny.

I think the one redeeming quality of this hotel is the friendliness of the staff. Other than that, this hotel was extremely disappointing. Firstly, the pictures online of the room are VASTLY different than the ones online. The pictures online are of their newer building with the loft rooms. The older building (which we were in, unknowingly) was outdated and in all honestly, a little decrepit. Another major issue is physically getting up and down the mountain. After 6pm

It’s an amazing property at the top of the world with great views of nature and an upscale styling to the rooms. One downside to the rooms is that there is no refrigerator or microwave but, considering you have to take a gondola to get there understandable.

We had to drag our bags 200yds. Up the hill to the sign in desk. No refrigerator, no microwave, no air conditioning, no heat. I've stayed in some really cheap hotels but they always had those things.

Awesome views . Great hiking. Staff is amazing. Walls in the room are a little thin so be careful with the hanky panky. We upgraded our room to the King bed with the more updated room and it was well worth it. It is a about 10 minutes from Banff but then you need to get on the ski lift and take a 20 minute ride to the top where the hotel is but it was well worth it. Very peacfull.

Even that I told I bought my lift tickets before coming to the hotel, they charged me the amount of lifts of every day that I stayed. That’s absurd and I complained to them, however I needed to drive to Calgary and I was running out of time. Other thing, when we checked up, they told us that the luggage would take 2 hours to get to the room, and that’s another lie, because of that we took our luggage in to the mountain, the other luggage came as the same time as we did, it aweful to be like that.

The deluxe room is a double bed. They don’t mention that in the listing. Try sleeping two 6’ adults in that… Staff is mixed. Half are excellent, other half are just too cool and into themselves to be bothered. Three times in three days, at various times including at dinner, I found it easier just to serve myself. Then they stand there when the time comes to pay and the prompt says, add 18% tip…. Granted it must be difficult to find good workers that want to work up there, but still, as a guest, it was frustrating. Great breakfast helped.

The area is gorgeous. Great hiking and not too many people. The only negative is that some of the staff did not have much experience. The property had just opened for the summer and some of the staff was likely brand new. All the staff appear to be young from around the world. They are nice but this is not their career and more of a fun experience for them. So some staff was not very knowledgeable or invested in their jobs.

Staying at top of the hill is a great experience. Overall service was good but on the first night (Friday) service was pretty poor (long) at the bar and food at Eagle restaurant was not great. The lounge side restaurant on Saturday night was a lot better and service at restaurant and bar on Saturday night was much better.

Please keep the following in mind to understand the review: 1. Sunset in this area is at a little after 10:00 PM (Late June/early July 2023) 2. Two way to reach the property: A. Through a Gondola that shuts down at 6:00 PM (4 -hours befoer sunset) and takes about 25 minutes to reach hotel from the base station. B. Shuttle ride (consists of two 7 passenger vehicle and one 11 passenger van that takes 20 minutes one way to get to the hotel.. In summer, it is nearly impossible to get back to the hotel before 6:00 PM to catch Gondola so you have to rely on Shuttle and at times you have to wait for more than an hour at the base to get back to the hotel. Restaurant has poor service. Most of the staff, while very supportive, is untrained so it takes fore ever to get food.

If you are planning on spending time in the town, this s not the right hotel for you. The hotel is for skiing activities, convenient to go up the mountain. It is not top of the line services nor installations. The town has great hotels or air b&b’s and better food choices.

I didn’t realize that the hotel was a 20 minute gondola ride from the parking lot when I booked. If I had known I wouldn’t have chosen it, but I’m very glad to have had the experience. It’s a stunning location, especially if you take advantage of the alpine walks.

A fun experience with 25 minute gondola ride to get to the property (they’ll take your luggage by car for you). Definitely take the ski lift at the top for a gorgeous view. The restaurant in the lodge was OK, but would recommend Trappers (bar & grill) across from the lodge instead.

Hotel localizado em local incrivel vistas deslumbrantes. Para esquiadores é fantástico. A comida deixa a desejar. Sem sabor. Carne com legumes crus, sopa fria. Precisa melhorar pq nao tem alternativa pq a Gôndola para a cidade fecha as 16 horas.
