This hotel is not worth the high nightly price. Yes it’s downtown but please find a different hotel. Walls are thin and the beds are not great. Some of front desk staff and security felt rather prejudice, especially the tall man with glasses at front desk. He wasn’t welcoming to me but once my husband showed up; his personality changed; when I called him out on it, he preceded to argue with me. I recommend you staying somewhere else.

I wasn't expecting an amazing stay as this was substantially more affordable than most other hotels I had come across in the downtown area. I was completely blown away by the friendliness of the staff. They were super helpful and very welcoming, making me feel very comfortable. The room was spacious and very clean. Quite noisy on a Saturday night with the club next door, but we were given ear plugs and our host offered ear plugs and tried to organise a quieter room further away from the night club. Great value, amazing staff - highly recommend!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable. Facility appeared in some common areas needing a refresh- somewhat worn and in need of an upgrade -such as the elevators and in between the two wings. However the staff was outstanding and was very grateful for storing our luggage on check- out day.

We were willing overlook the open drug use, and people defecating on the side walk right in front of the hotel, we knew downtown isn’t the best area. But a hotel's most basic responsibility is to provide a place to sleep. On that, the Quality Inn Downtown Vancouver fails completely. The nightclub that shares a wall with the guest rooms was so loud that our entire room vibrated until 4AM on both nights of our stay. That’s not hyperbole, the bars close at 4AM here. The nightclub's smoke machines repeatedly triggered the hotel's fire alarm between midnight and 2AM waking everyone up with blaring alarm bells multiple times. The staff said this is a regular occurrence. The staff was friendly and professional, which is the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. They have a well practiced excuses that the hotel is located in the entertainment district and that noise is to be expected. If that's the case, guests should be clearly warned before paying hundreds of dollars for a room, not after checking in. At $450 USD per night, this experience was unacceptable. Had we known that sleeping would be impossible, we never would have booked this hotel. No matter how convenient the location, a hotel that can't provide a reasonable night's sleep isn't worth the price.

We were promptly greeted by the staff, provided with great directions to head to Granville Island. The property is in decent shape, but tired and ready for a refresh. The cleaning staff ensures that things are cleaned, including the elevator door tracks. Our room overland what could be a center garden/cocktail area, instead we were regaled with the midnight ravings of an over-served partygoer who got lost on their way back to their roam and a loud but brief temper ensued. The bed was very nicely and neatly made, but the foot of the bed was noticeably raised above the head of the bed (perhaps to soothe aching feet?). We arrived during a period of time when the whole city was winding down from World Cup, thus I’m confident that many things were put to their test, staff included. The hotel sits firmly in the middle of a location that is comfortable to walk to many things from, though we did take both a water taxi and a hop on-off trolley.
