Hotel Acta Azul Barcelona

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Hotel Acta Azul. For nearly $800 USD for a two-night stay, I expected a much higher standard of quality and comfort. Upon check-in, we were assigned a handicap-accessible room without any prior notice. Unfortunately, the room had several maintenance issues. The air conditioning control panel was broken, making it impossible to adjust the temperature, and the room remained uncomfortably hot throughout our stay. The bathroom was especially disappointing. The shower had no door, causing the entire bathroom floor to become soaked after every use. The walls showed visible mold, and the overall condition of the bathroom felt dirty and poorly maintained. The room also had a constant damp, musty smell that made the experience very unpleasant. I reported the broken air conditioning to the front desk, but I was told that no maintenance staff was available because it was late and someone would look at it the following day. Unfortunately, that did nothing to improve our comfort during the night. To make matters worse, one of the advertised amenities “the gym” was out of service, which was another disappointment. Overall, this hotel did not meet my expectations in any way. It feels outdated and is in desperate need of deep cleaning, maintenance, and renovation. Considering the price we paid, the value simply was not there. I would not recommend staying at Hotel Acta Azul unless significant improvements are made.

Amazing air conditioning during a record breaking heat wave in Spain/Europe. Staff was helpful to replace our broken mini fridge, but apart from that, there wasn’t water for guests, except for breakfast, the gym had broken equipment, no weights, towels, and again no access to water.

Very helpful staff. They were accommodating at holding our luggage on first day until we returned from a full day tour. It was a hot summer in Barcelona and we had the top floor. A/C struggled to really cool the room, but I'm sure that was a problem for a lot of locations during this summer. Overall, pretty quiet for a busy street. Would return again.

Great location to catch train to Montserrat and To view Magic Fountain and walk to poblo espanyol. This was our second trip to Barcelona so we had already done all of the things in the main areas. AC barely worked in room.

Staff was very helpful in everything and in close Proximity to metro stop to connect you with the city
