It was easy to hear other guests in my room - including the first night of my stay where I could hear the alarm going off at 4am in the adjacent room. The gym/fitness centre consists of 1 cross trainer and 2 bikes along with 6 weights - so not really of use.

Disclaimer: this is our third stay in the Balmes this year. And probably our 40th time in the last decade. This hotel has everything that we want when staying in a hotel. The staff are superb, the location brilliant, the inner courtyard with swimming pool an oasis of calm in a hectic part of the city. The only minor point of complaint was that housekeeping would refresh the towels almost daily, even though we had hung them to be reused (and not left on the floor). Given the current water shortages in and around Barcelona, this really shouldn’t be the case. Aside from this, I look forward to the day that we have something to really complain. Also, We will be back in November, there is no better hotel in Barcelona

My room was very spacious on 2 levels, up to a sitting room with a 2 seater settee, tv, fridge, wardrobe. Down to the bedroom & en-suite. Bed was great with an under stairs cupboard for clothes. En-suite - shower great, for me the shallow sink wasn’t deep enough. Outside pool is small & ok for cooling off. Didn’t use the gym but it didn’t appear to be air conditioned

Staff were nice and helpful, our ride stopped across the hotel entrance, and the bellboy already came over to us to help with our luggage. They allowed us to check in early when the room became available. The location was perfect, everything you need is nearby. You can even walk to some major attractions, very impressive. Room is super clean and spacious. Mini fridge available. The slippers they provided in the room are very comfortable. Bathroom is spacious and has a bathtub, they have bath salt for you. Nice hotel overall, would recommend.

Nous avons adorés cet hôtel. Le personnel est très accueillants, concernant la propreté rien à redire aussi bien dans la chambre que dans les parties communes (piscine,accueil,..). Du thé et de l’eau au citron sont à disposition à l’accueil. Petit bémol dans notre chambre la douche fuit jusqu’à la bouche d’évacuation sous le lavabo, et le lit est pas très long mon mari qui fait 1m80 avait les pieds qui dépasse ce ne sont pas des lits standards français pour exemple.

We had a wonderful time here. The rooms were very comfortable, spacious, and quiet. The hotel outdoor space is beautiful and tranquil even though we are in the middle of the city. All the staff here are incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Will absolutely stay here again

Nice clean modern hotel but there is insufficient soundproofing/insulation in the walls so you can hear other guests in their rooms and in the corridors. This is an issue when people are returning to their rooms in the early hours of the morning. We were woken nightly due to this issue.

la experencia nefasta,Reservamos este hotel , por que pensábamos que pasar una noche de hotel en el día de san Valentin seria una buena, experiencia, pues no lo fue, llegamos como a la 1 de la noche, y una amiga nos vino a visitar, pero no la dejaban estar en la habitación por normativa del hotel , bueno mi mujer que es una experta en hoteles fue hablar con el recepcionista, en vez de dar solución se encaro con mi mujer y le alzo la voz, eso un recepcionista jamás lo puede, hacer, por lo tanto estuvimos unas horas, en este pésimo hotel, y nos fuimos a las 4:30 de la mañana ya que nuestra amiga no la dejaron quedar en la habitación, cuando he estado en hoteles y siempre han dejado entrar a una visita. además lo pero que el recepcionista se encaro con mi mujer, por suerte soy una persona tranquila, y no quise buscar follón, por las horas que eran, pero es inadmisible que un recepcionista alce la voz a un cliente y mas si es mi mujer. muy mal por el hotel, un atención pésima y muy mala educación.

They don’t greet you when you come in maybe that’s a thing here. Rooms thin walls , I can hear people outside the door and the footsteps and luggage being drag on the floor above . Rooms are big enough, clean and got a great bathroom strong shower with good drainage . I hate it when they don’t drain well so would still recommend this place

Das Hotel ist super zentral gelegen und ist sehr schick. Wir wurden gleich zu Beginn am Taxi freundlich empfangen und unsere zwei Zimmer wurden netterweise nebeneinander organisiert. Das Hotel ist sehr schön dekoriert, das Bett war unglaublich bequem, die Zimmer waren riesig, eines sogar mit Terrasse. Wir hatten glücklicherweise Zimmer in den Hinterhof, weshalb von außen kaum Lärm zu hören war. Leider werden in Spanien anscheinend die Wände in den Gebäuden sehr dünn gebaut, weshalb die Geräuschkulisse im Hotel entsprechend laut war (Zimmernachbarn, aber vor allem ganz extrem die Abflüsse der Zimmer über und neben uns, welche uns teilweise aus dem Schlaf am Morgen gerissen haben). Negativ war zudem, dass gegenüber von unseren Zimmern der Housekeeping Raum war, d.h. Morgens um 7/8 Uhr begannen die Kollegen dort Ihren Dienst leider entsprechend laut für uns in den Zimmern - solche Räume gehören meines Erachtens nach nicht in die Nähe der Zimmer, sondern in den Keller. Wir haben an einem Tag das Frühstück gebucht (12€ p.P.), welches ganz in Ordnung war. Die Bedienung war nicht wirklich zuvorkommend und freundlich, sondern eher genervt. Die Auswahl war ok, aber ich hätte für ein 4 Sterne Hotel etwas mehr Auswahl erwartet. Generell hatte ich das Gefühl, dass Touristen in Barcelona nicht wirklich willkommen sind, da gefühlt jeder zweite Einwohner genervt war. Teilweise leider auch die Mitarbeiter in der Lobby des Hotels. Fazit: schönes Hotel mit einigen Makeln

The location is absolutely perfect - just steps from Passeig de Gracia and countless bars and restaurants. The hotel and room were nice. My only complaint is about the noise in the hallways. The doors are not sound proof and there were many loud voices outside our room coming and going and slamming doors at all hours. Breakfast was excellent with good quality fresh food, a wide selection and made to order eggs. Would recommend (with earplugs).

Kunne godt have lidt større værelser. Sparsom morgen buffet. Men hyggeligt og godt med lille pool. Bare lidt for koldt lige nu. Venlige i receptionen. Ligger lidt for langt fra metro til at jeg kommer igen, men det er jo ikke hotellets fejl.
