Not quite what the reviews promised.. Our stay in Barcelona was fine. Not terrible, but definitely not the experience we were expecting based on the glowing reviews. We had booked through Expedia and were notified of a free room upgrade, but upon arrival, we were quickly informed that wouldn’t be happening. No explanation, just a flat “no,” which set the tone. The location is relatively central, near La Rambla, which is handy and having a pool helped on the hot days but it was very murky, cloudy and looked unclean. And I’m not sure fake grass around the pool is the best idea.. As for the room - basic at best. Our “view” was of a tired old courtyard scattered with cigarette butts, which didn’t exactly scream Barcelona magic. All in all, it was an average stay that didn’t live up to the hype. Nothing awful, but nothing that would bring us back either.

Absolutely stunning hotel in the middle of the square so close to everything we walked everywhere! The room was clean beautiful terrace. Great pool area. The amenities in the hotel were wonderful, but the beauty of this hotel is it smacked up in the middle of absolutely everything it is in the middle of a square that any direction you turn into will take you Wherever you want to go. Perfect highly recommend.

Was amazing place to stay in the heart of Barcelona. Uber would not drop at the door, but taxis would. We talked our Uber driver into dropping us off at the door. Great restaurants and entertainment everywhere around. Definitely would stay again.

The only complain is that the parking is a public parking and far away from the hotel and we had to carry our own luggage thru the streets . Also at the time of reservation was no instructions how and where to park the car . Would had be easier if they did…Due to a construction was very hard to find the hotel we had to pay and follow a cab driver . Was No service available to carry the luggage to the hotel from the parking. Other than that …Amazing breakfast and excellent staff and confi room.

The property is in a good location and the hotel is nice and quiet at night. The room though not fancy is certainly adequate. No coffee in the room but tea is provided. We had some difficulty finding it as the taxi driver would not take us to the hotel as it is a pedestrian zone but taxis are allowed to drop passengers off at the door. Wish we had known that! Also Ubers are not allowed the same access so we took a taxi to the airport because of that. Did not eat at the hotel at all so cannot comment on that. Was t warm enough to swim so did not use the pool either. Staff really vary in their friendliness but overall helpful.

We assumed a hotel with a restaurant and room service would have ice available. We were told to ask at the bar, where they were able to give us a cup at a time. “Small ice machine”. The bar was very small and stocked no better than a private home. Room was only somewhat clean. Towels were badly worn. Location was excellent.

Front desk customer service skills need to be improved especially around being friendly. The chambermaid was excellent except did not vacuum the floor each day as we found the floor still sandy each day from the day before after going to the beach.

Our stay was excellent. We were very satisfied with the professionalism of the staff. I loved the cleanliness of the room and bathroom, the whole hotel was very clean and smelled very nice. The breakfast was wonderful with a big selection of different things to eat. I highly recommend this hotel.

We appreciated the earlier check-in. At first, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, but later in the stay they were not very personable. Our VIP gift was a bottle of bubbly wine, but a tiny 250ml bottle was actually given to us--very disappointing as the expectation is a full 750ml bottle. The room had a leaky a/c unit, which got our clothes wet underneath it. It took two days for them to fix it, and left a mess on the floor (debris) after. The value for the price is poor, being over $400/night, our expectations were higher than experienced. But the location of the hotel is excellent.

This is a large chain with many hotels in the area, the main area is quite clean and the hotel has good security. The issue is in the details, it feels like staff tolerate that you exist but don’t want to bother with you, few smiles or greetings. So you feel like an unwanted guest. (Except for the breakfast staff). Our hotel room had mold in the bathroom, but bed was clean. We had an issue with the older male bartender as he was extremely rude. We had arrived with an ice bucket in our room with complementary champagne. We had arrived close to midnight so could not enjoy it. During our stay we went to the bar and requested ice to refill it, the bartender grabbed the ice bucket from me abruptly. He would not look at me directly and not speak English, so another bartender had to interpret for him. After pleading, he simply ignored me and the girl that was interpreting said sorry there’s nothing we can do except for giving a different cold bottle.They said they only have 3 ice buckets for the whole hotel (which is crazy for a hotel chain this big). I called the front desk and they told me the same story, that they provide the bottle (for VIP Expedia members) but no ice unless you drink first day. This is absolutely absurd. The man who grabbed the bucket did not apologize and looked angry. Needless to say, we will not recommend and ever go to this chain again.

This hotel is centrally located and close to all shops and attractions. We really enjoyed the balcony (not terrace) room. It faced a busy street and was great for people watching. Terrace rooms face the courtyard. However, they said we would receive a bottle of sparking wine with our stay and we did not. I spoke to the desk, they offered us two complimentary drinks so we took them at the bar but that didn’t count so we ended up paying. Not that big of a deal and likely due to miscommunication but worth mentioning because it was an advertised included amenity. I would still recommend the hotel though. It was nice.

Great hotel for visiting Barcelona. We stayed ten nights. Very good breakfast each morning and pleasant staff. We were very close walking distance to everything in the Gothic quarter. Easy airport transfers to and from nearby Plaça de Catalunya with Aerobus. Short walk from hotel to Metro lines.

Excellent location to walk to various typical tourist areas. The staff we encountered all spoke English which was helpful because we do not speak their native language. The photos of the property are accurate. It is “hidden” on a very popular street between shops. Would definitely stay again.

Beau jardin arrière et déjeuner copieux, beaucoup de choix au buffet... Sincèrement nous avons préféré cet hotel à Barcelone que le 2ième au retour de croisière, qui était plus loin....Si l'on retourne en Espagne pour un plus long séjour, cet hotel sera notre premier choix...

Beautiful hotel in a great location with shopping and dining all around. Room was very comfortable and very clean with a great shower, comfortable beds and incredibly quiet. Staff were amazing and helpful. 5 minute walk to Las Rambla and 15 minutes to the ports. The only issue we had was breakfast. It was very big and had many options, however, the hot food was warm or cold. Maybe a one off issue but the eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes and omelettes were barely warm or just cold. We chose not to go a second time as we didn’t want to spend the money to see if it was better. There are many other options close by. A large grocery store 5 minute walk and the market was also close and great to shop.

Excellent hotel with friendly staff and really comfortable beds. The restaurant was only open for breakfast which was great but you would expect a three star hotel to have a full service restaurant. The hotel is in a pedestrianised area and our taxi from the airport dumped us on the main road leaving us to drag our luggage and find the hotel. The hotel did find us a taxi service that came to the door for our departure which was kind of them and very helpful.

My 5 night hotel stay was delightful. We had a lovely terrace overlooking the pool and courtyard. The highlight of this hotel is the amazing buffet breakfast. I have NEVER had such an all inclusive breakfast at a hotel.

Perfect location for any visitor who wants to see all of the sites of Barcelona due to its close proximity to Pl d Catalunya main square where the Buses all go to/from, especially the Aerobus. Hotel is clean comfy and good helpful staff, though I'd not pay for their breakfasts as better and cheaper nearby cafes.
