HOTEL HLG CITY PARK PELAYO

When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at the reception as they “upgraded” our room and gave us a nicer suite rather than a room. In reality, it ended up being a semi circular balcony which was at some point windowed and made into a room which had dusty, ripped curtains instead of walls. There was no type of noise isolation and it sounded as if we were sleeping outside with the loud traffic. Our first night was terrible. The restroom was not stocked with basic necessities such as toilet paper and shower gels/shampoo. The safe was locked and the reception informed us that it is a hotel policy that safes are no longer offered as prior guests forgot their codes, which was surprising as Barcelona is known for its pick pockets and safes are usually a basic amenity offered by hotels. When we asked for a room change, we were told that the entire hotel was booked, however when we asked for our money back we were given a different standard room which we initially booked, which, by the way, had a working safe… The new room was way better, however, the first room ruined our experience for the first day. Be careful when you are offered a better room.

we had a room on the 4th floor and to open/close the windows, we had to ask for a special tool at the reception. the room was very hot. also, you need to bring cash if you want to leave your luggage, as it is not free (2€).

The hotel fell far short as it was noisiness and uncomfortable. It was the worst bed, I have ever had in an expensive hotel. I had to fold a rough textured uncovered duvet into sections and put it under the sheet to tolerate the bumpy hard mattress. The room had not chairs so no other seating than the hard bed. No tissues in the bathroom. Our early arrival before checkin required two Euro coins to use the lockers for luggage storage, which we did not have, nor did they have any at the checkin counter so we had to go out to the Exchange location next door. When we returned at checkin time, exhausted after traveling and walking all day, we were asked to wait for our room as a housekeeper had called in sick. On check out day, the lift was out of order! Many issues, but the attending staff were as accommodating as they could be, they arranged a taxi for us and upon request of coffee and pastry a very nice and full breakfast was prepared early for us since we had to check out at 7:45. Breakfast at 8:00 seems rather late, The desk staff helped my husband carry our luggage downstairs when the lift was out Definitely was disappointed in the accommodations but high praise for the staff!

Very disappointing stay:- 1.Safe not working in my room. I asked to move and I was advised none of the safes in the room worked! 2. Curtains jammed so I had little or no privacy as the room is overlooked by flats on the other side of the street 3. Unable to close windows as a special lock was required and the street is noisy all night so I got no sleep the first night. 4. No loo roll in room. Had to ask the front desk on two occasions and I was given it to take to the room myself 5. Breakfast very average with a limited choice 6. Shower is a handheld spray hooked up, so the spray is narrow and getting the right temperature is very difficult I wouldn’t re-book!

部屋のセーフティボックスは使えない（全室壊れている）、カウンターの貴重品預かりがずさん、ＴＶリモコンの電池カバーが無い、トイレ便器の蓋が外れていた、トイレットペーパーが無い、電話が故障で使用できない、テーブルも椅子も無い、衣類を入れる引き出しも無い、エレベーターは壊れて使用不能、だからタオルが運べないから交換できないとの事、唯一の避難階段に給水管の水漏れで滑って上り下りが怖かった、ベットの上掛けは裸の毛布だけだった、1回も部屋の掃除はしてくれなかった、タオル交換はあるものだけ貰いにいった、毎日すべての貴重品をもって観光する羽目になった、チェックインは規定時間にはしてくれなかった、チェックアウトで手荷物をホテルにパクられた。二度と行きたくないチェーン店のホテルだった。

Pues nada bien el elevador no funciona y son muchos pisos la limpieza no es buena y mejor ya no cuento

Overall the place was very accessible to shops, food, transportation. The only downside was that the elevator wasn’t working when we stayed there. However, the staff did help with the luggage to be brought up in our room during check in and brought down during check out.

Great location……. The lady at the front desk checked us in early which was very nice and accommodating. However the room needs to be updated with new mattresses, pillows, amenities. The maintenance of the room was poor. The phone did not work, the safe was not functioning at all, the window did not close and lock properly. The back of the toilet was cracked and had been repaired. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel so I can not comment on it. Being in Spain, we bought a bottle of wine and asked for a bottle opener at the hotel which they said they could not lend to us. This was a bit surprising! Although a great location, we would not recommend this hotel for the price.

Perfekte Lage,man kommt von dort überall hin ,jedoch kein Esstisch,Fenster gehen nicht gescheit zu und WLAN war nicht gut sowie der Aufzug war außer Betrieb

値段の割に高い。エレベーターが故障し大変でした。チェックアウト後スーツケースも預かってくれず下のコインロッカーにいれてくれと。アメニティも全くなくこれでこの価格は納得いかない。立地だけはよいがほぼどこでも地下鉄があるのでこちらにする必要性はなかった。

Struttura vecchia, la finestra del bagno era murata, alla finestra della camera mancava la maniglia per aprire, la pulizia giornaliera del bagno non veniva fatta, cambiavano solo gli asciugamani. La vasca da bagno aveva ruggine e abbiamo trovato il lato del bidet con sporco incrostato. La carta dei muri era in più punti distaccata. L'interruttore della luce era rotto e più volte cadeva in terra.

Un hotel infecté par les punaises,j ai des photos a l appui,on ne dormait pas,même on nous a changé de chambre on est restés éveillé pendant le sejour chaque fois on controle s il y a des punaises,ausai on a payé pour le lavage a la vapeur nos vetements et pas de compensation ni de la part de l hotel ni dExpedia,tout le monde soit d Expedia soit de l hotel nous disent qu ils etait sorry,le chat avec Expedia n etait paa convaicant même avec les photos des punaises dans la chambre 502.

This was a great hotel for a short stay. Excellent location, staff and cleanliness. Room could have used a mini fridge but the basic were there.

We did like the location most! Also the bed and shower were very good. Further, the room was not clean, the walls and bathroom were dirty. They also did not make our bed, replace the towels and cleaned our room when staying for 2 nights.

Es ist ein 2 Sterne Hotel das sollte man nicht vergessen. Die Lage ist super genau im geschehen, vom Flughafen mit der metro L1 und bei Universität aussteigen, schon steht man vor dem hotel. Check in war easy.unser Zimmer war abgewohnt und kein kompfort. Hatten wir auch nicht erwartet. Das wichtigste war aber das es sauber war vor allem die Betten. Wir haben jeden Tag frische Handtücher bekommen ob wohl wir sie auf den Haken hängten. Bei Fragen war das Personal sehr hilfsbereit und nett.

Do not stay here! There are bed bugs, bathroom was dirty at check in, hard mattress, no bath towels, faslse representation of what the rooms actually look like, it looks like a bad hostel at best. The AC barely turned on, it’s depressing. After noticing the bed bugs, I spoke to the front desk and they would not give me a new room and “guaranteed” they comply with pest regulations. I tried checking out for a refund and they refused due to the “conditions I signed during booking”. I did not sign for bed bugs. Good location, but I would rather stay far and not wake up with bed bug bites.

We spent very little time at the hotel as we had tours booked everyday. This hotels location was perfectly central. Very short walk from where airport shuttle AEROBUS drops you off. Very close to las Ramblas. If you are looking for a comfy bed and clean room this no frills hotel will do it

I was deceived by the photo, it was of the very nice lobby. The room was a different story, I felt like I was in a cell. No chairs, no storage, no pictures. On the positive side the metal beds were comfortable, the sheets clean and good water pressure in the moldy bathroom.

The room was VERY small, and didn’t even have a window. Thought we were in prison. Could not even see to turn on the lights. For booking 5 months in advance and the price we paid we were very upset. Would never stay again and would not recommend.

The good; breakfast was provided. I am not sure if it was included, I hope it was because it was super basic. The bad; the online pictures did not match the real-deal. AC was nowhere near functional, it was advertised as having AC; then I show up and no such thing. Every night I spent it soak in my sweat due to how hot the room was. Horrible experience. The cost did not fit the experience and/or quality for the days I was there for. A portion of a refund would be greatly appreciated, but I doubt that will be take place.

Room had NO desk or chairs. NO mirror, coffee maker. Bathroom windows only had a sheer curtain. Bed was uncomfortable.

Super accueil, très bien situé au centre de Barcelone proche des commerces et des restaurants. Seul petits bémols, les cloisons sont un peu fines et on ressent les vibration du métro. L équipe nous a offert un livre à la fin du séjour. Un grand merci

Our room was like a sauna. It was unbearably hot with no control over the AC and windows that don’t open. Made for extremely uncomfortable sleeping conditions

Convenient to subway and shopping. Room was too hot. Apr 20. No air conditioning in room saying that hotel only uses it after May 01. My son eczema worsening. Reception gave us a allen key to get room window open. Helped a bit. Clean beds. Nice value hotel.

La ubicación es muy buena pero hay demasiado ruido toda la noche. El Metro pasa por abajo del hotel y se siente la vibración cada vez que circula un tren. Lo más lamentable es que las cortinas no son blackout y entra demasiada luz. Entre el ruido y la luz es imposible descansar.

Hotellet lå godt i forhold til at komme rundt. Vi ankom til et Meget varmt værelse. Aircondition virkede ikke. Det var ikke kun på vores værelse, men over alt dog undtagen receptionen. Desværre måtte vi sove to af vores fire nætter i ekstrem varme. Nat nummer to fik vi dog vinduet åbnet( er normalt låst) men det betød en del støj fra gaden. Køleskabet måtte vi tage ud af stikket om natten, da det larmede.

3 different names for the same hotel : outside, in the elevator, on the door card. Dusty curtains, not possible to open windows, you need to ask a tool at the reception to open one even if you are non-smoker since your childhood. There is no table or desk, no chair even in the upgraded room, you shoul sit on the bed or on the toilet. Well, the published photos on Hotels.com keep you in the illusion. Very good for a 10 mins. stay.

Quarto com tamanho bom, cama larga mas não tão confortável. O serviço dos funcionários é excelente, eles são extremamente solícitos e mesmo sem saber minha língua fizeram de tudo pra ajudar. Nada a reclamar, localização ótima e bom custo benefício

Location was perfect! The receptionist upon arrival was rude. As for the room, okay. A place to crash for one night. If you are looking for a good night's sleep, that is not the place. The walls are thin, and the air conditioning was not cool. Anyways, it is what it is!

I had high expectations because of the look and location of the building and prices of the room. Was very disappointed by the checking process (way too many forms to fill and sign!) and the room amenities that were minimalistic (no fridge and no duvet). Luckily, we were there only for one nigh before leaving to the airport.

No was looking for a place near all the attractions in the tourist area in Barcelona, but also that have the comfort to work remotely in the free time. And found this place that is close to all the good attractions in Barcelona. Also is located at several meter from one Metro station. The room was very comfortable and the staff very friendly helpful for everything we need. I will return to this place.

I would NOT recommend this hotel. The checking process took 35 minutes. From passports information /telephone/emails/addresses for individual person. This information could have been addressed prior to check in and not at check in. For the price we paid I expected more. The pictures on the website are so deceptive. The whole time I felt CATFISH. This hotel is more of a hostel. Don’t stay here.

It's a "simple" place. Nothing fancy, nothing added. Great location, metro, walking and no issues with the general area. I'd come back.

La habitación triple asiganada no era la elegida. Era un tamaño muy pequeño. No se correspondía con los 18metros publicados. No tendría más de 9. Muy buena ubicacion

The property is located very close to the Cataluna Plaza where all the activities are. Very convenient to move around the city by public transportation.

From the very beginning, it was a terrible experience. The desk clerk was surly. We went to the room and there was no furniture, no table no chairs, no credenza no microwave no refrigerator not one stick of furniture except for the bed. The shower was extremely difficult to navigate and the tub jets didn’t work. When my wife said something about it, she was told, well, you didn’t pay for jets. There was no toilet paper holder, just a roll of paper on the back of the toilet. The tub was extremely slick. The floor when it got wet, was like an ice-skating rink, it was awful. Not only was there no furniture in the room there was no coffee maker. When I went down to get coffee, I was told I couldn’t just get coffee. I had to buy the entire breakfast and I couldn’t bring coffee to the room.

Slitet men rent. Skulle behöva lite färg. AC funkade bra. Och läget är strålande . Inga obehagliga gator mellan hotell och tunnelbana. Centralt. Frukosten ok önskar mer grönsaker . Personalen trevlig

Posizione spettacolare, collegata benissimo sia con la metro che con i bus. Tra Plaza de Catalunya e Plaza de Espana nella zona universitaria. Camera un po' datata, come tutto l'hotel del resto. Nessun confort all'interno, no set da bagno e vasca al posto della doccia. Colazione minimale ma discreta, con cornetti sfornati al momento. Personale gentile ma a volte troppo lento.

Good location restaurants, On Off Bus close by as well as metro train and city buses. Excellent breakfast from 7:30 to 11:00. Shuttle Bus to airport within a couple blocks. Taxi from cruise ship 32 euro. Rate to airport about the same if after 8:00am. Prior to 8:00 fare was 45 euros.

Plus siden-Central placeret i Barcelona. Meget små værelser med masser af larm fra gaden og mærkelige lyde fra skjulte installationer og metro. Morgenmad her er begrænset men ok. Rengøring tvivlsom.

Breakfast starts late at 8am on weekends a bit late especially if you’ve got tours booked in the morning or an early flight.

El personal de recepción no es amable. La oferta de desayuno es un caos, sin personal suficiente y muy incomodo.

O ar condicionado não funcionava! O quarto ficava um forno! O chuveiro estava solto da parede e ficava mirando para fora da banheira e molhava o banheiro inteiro! Café da manhã ruim,louças mal lavadas
