This hotel is in a great location with class and style. We loved seeing the old Ritz stuff and the rooftop bar is amazing. We chartered the boat for a day and had a great time with it too. All in excellent place.

The service was as good as, if not better than, any hotel we have ever stayed at…anywhere. The hotel has old world grandeur and luxury that we really appreciated, with wonderful restaurants and bars. The rooftop restaurant and views from the rooftop deck were a highlight of our stay. We highly recommend the hotel and we look forward to staying with you again on our next Barcelona trip.

The hospitality here was really the best part- everyone was just so gracious and lovely. The hotel was beautiful and we kept finding unique areas of the hotel we didn't know were there and they were all so cute and beautiful. My favorite was the dining area on the rooftop- just so elegant. My one tiny complaint was that the pool was not heated so it was too cold for a dip but I could have researched that ahead of time. 5 stars all around

A truly great stay in the heart of Barcelona! The staff were excellent, from check in to check out, they really went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The pool is a great way to cool off after a day of walking around, however it is a bit small and can get crowded. The rooftop terrace is a great place to grab a drink, and the breakfast is also delicious. The entire property is stunning, we had a wonderful time!

Formerly Ritz-Carlton, magnificent heritage building, amazing interior, Michelin mentioned restaurant attached, Ritz styled dressed staff..but when the rubber meets the road, rather disappointing- room is too small to be 5-star GL, no space to spread out my laptop and 3 cellphones for my family, very few charging outlets (had to unplug the floor lamp), no espresso/coffee machine (can you imagine) and no coffee service in the morning, bathrobe is so heavy it feels like wearing a tactical suit. Compared to Ritz in Vienna and St. Regis in Florence (formerly Ritz also), I would rate this a 6 out of 10, at best.

We arrived a few hours early from our international flight with 3 rooms booked and a 3pm check in time. They kindly gave us one room and another one a couple hours early. This provided a very welcome place to store our bags and get some rest before 3pm. Also the hotel rooms themselves were among the most convenient and elegant of anywhere we’ve stayed. Fabric walls kept outside noise to a whisper, if anything. The shower - wow beautiful marble and 2 sinks in bathroom. The restaurant in the am for breakfast is a show stopper and the rooftop restaurant was perfect for dinner. Too bad the movie was only playing on Halloween and we were ready to watch it on 10/27!

This is a wonderful 5* hotel. The property and the rooms are elegant. (Prior to the current ownership, this used to be the Ritz Carlton.) The staff is extremely helpful. Our room was comfortable and well lit. The internet connection was good (although with intermittant delays, probably due to network congestion). The location is good - walkable to most places that you want to go, without being in a noisy, congested area. I've stayed here before and plan to stay again whenever I'm in Barcelona. Very pleased.

This is a good hotel to stay with friendly staff One problem is the wifi which is good in the lobby but terrible in the rooms. So if one is on a business trip it is impossible to do one’s work in the room unless one has unlimited data on the mobile phone and one hotspots the laptop to the phone. Inspite of my pointing this out to the reception staff on the first day of my 7 day stay nothing was done to improve it. I requested a change of rooms to see if the wifi improved in another room but this was not made available.

We stayed for a total of 8 nights at The Palace Hotel. The staff and the service were OUTSTANDING! Everything that we needed was offered in a matter of minutes! Everyone was friendly and the room impecable! The only room for improvement will be the internet and the TV. The signal was weak in both cases. But this little issue won't stop us from staying again in this wonderful hotel!

Our room upgrade didn’t feel like an upgrade. While it was a suite, we would have preferred the room we booked as we had stayed here before and liked that type of room. The suite we received had a goofy bathroom, the shower was unpleasant. But, the staff was extremely pleasant and the hotel was as beautiful as always. The bed was comfortable and that’s a crucial piece.

If you're looking for a classy, elegant, friendly, and peaceful stay, El Palace is the place to go for that and more. I cannot speak highly enough about the entire staff and dining experience here. Alexis, Christian, and Javier are just one of the few employees that made us feel so welcome and made our stay a lot more enjoyable. The concierge recommended some restaurants which were fantastic. I highly recommend the Junior suite! The room was very spacious, elegant and clean. Thank you to everyone at El Palace! This was our first trip to Barcelona and you made our stay all the more memorable!

Poor service. Had to ask 4 times for an extra bed for a kid and still they managed to forget about it! Don’t know why they send the pre check in letter (they just don’t use it), so your check in process takes plenty of time and you have to remind about the requested extras.

This was a first visit to Barcelona and one of our best hotel experiences ever! The central location is ideal whether you prefer walking, metro, or taxi. And this former Ritz property has been both beautifully maintained and thoughtfully updated while retaining its classic elegance and charm. Our room was lovely and spacious with a stunning marble bathroom. But the best part of our stay was the amazing staff. From the General Manager to the Concierge to all of Guest Services, every single employee goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and to anticipate your every need, always with a smile. We'd love to visit Barcelona again, and we can't imagine staying anywhere else.

A true 5 star property in an excellent area, central Barcelona, on the edge of the Gothic Quarter. 15 minute walk to the Barcelona Cathedral and shops/mall. The Staff at the hotel is excellently trained and the building is beautifully maintained. We were very lucky to have the "Ronnie Wood" suite offered to us for a reasonable additional fee and it was money well spent. This hotel is really worth the money. So many others in this area are over rated.

True five-star hotel at the heart of Barcelona. Close to all the major sites by walk. Staff is hyper welcoming and were able to call us by our last name after only 2 days. Very quiet and luxurious. Beds are very comfortable.

The VIP room upgrade and late check out 'benefits' were unavailable until I pushed for them. I now see that other Expedia guests have had the same experience. Despite all the hotel's PR around its recent refurbishment, it's very basic. One old fashioned key per room. No key cards for elevator & room. No tech in the room (for example, USB port). No products or anywhere to put your own products in the shower unit (had to put mine on the floor). On the one occasion we fancied a late night drink (at midnight on a Saturday) the only bar open had a minimum 58 euros spend even for hotel guests. We only wanted one drink. No pool service (they will bring a drink to the pool if you ask for one, but no food because they don't have unbreakable plates for the pool - that was the manager's excuse - so why not get some?). Food wasn't great - worst caesar salad I can remember. Staff are nice & helpful. And the hotel is okay. It just doesn't come close to stacking up against its 5 star luxe positioning and the other hotels I've stayed at in Barcelona in the same category. So disappointing.

Fantastic property. Classically beautiful with great room and dining room that are elegant, warm and intimate all at once. It is easy to imagine lounging comfortably in one of the sumptuous couches, or enjoy a romantic dinner or have a drink at the bar. Speaking of romantic, the opulent Amar restaurant is a must for a special occasion or a great meal. The wine list and cuisine are first rate, and the service is of the highest order. Great service is a feature of the entire hotel, from the attentive concierge crew to the room service team. There is a clear sense that they want to be of service and are good at it. Location is ideal as well, situated as it is within easy walking distance of La Rambla, Pl Catalunya, and manageable walk to Sagradia Familia and the Montjuic complex.

My stay at this hotel was probably the best I’ve had in recent years. Mariano and the entire team were professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making me feel very welcome from the start. The facilities were spotless and perfectly prepared, even though we arrived several hours earlier than expected. The breakfast was exceptional, with a great selection of fresh fruits, cheeses, cold cuts, breads, and pastries. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit Barcelona.

Fabulous hotel excellently run by helpful, efficient and polite staff. A beautiful building with an interesting history. Palacial and very comfortable. Food was fantastic as was the service. We had three breakfasts and two evening meals all were great. This is the place to come for a special treat to feel special and worth every penny. No hidden charges.
