Hotel Balmoral

We stayed for a few nights after a cruise. We arrived early and they kindly stored our luggage until our room was available. Easy in and out and convenient location. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall a great experience!

Third time staying here, it just gets better every time. Refurb on the lobby looks great so many people just relaxing there. Such a great location and the breakfast is excellent

As a solo female traveler, I found this hotel very clean and quiet, with friendly staff. Great location between the Eixample and Gracia neighborhoods. I would stay here again, especially as it's one of the more affordable hotels near Gracia. Was able to walk everywhere I desired. Nice fitness room as well! Thanks for the great stay!

Very comfortable and clean hotel in Barcelona city center. Located within walking distance of Casa Batlló and casa Mila. I booked two nights, different rooms, at the begging and at the end of Christmas. The hotel is quite and the staff are helpful and friendly. Vanessa from the restaurant / bar is really nice and makes you feel very welcome. I was upgraded to a doble room, on my second booking, because they didn’t have single rooms available. I used the gym a couple of times, it’s small but good enough to do your routine workouts. It has a couple of bicycles, treadmill, cross trainer, training bench, a couple of machines (chest and back) and free weights up to 10 kg. I also used the dry and wet sauna on the top floor, there is also a beautiful terrace and can be used free of charge. You can purchase flip flops, for the Spa area at the reception for just 2 euros. The hotel displays small touches that make the difference. For example, there are some juices, cookies and marshmallows in the lobby and small croissants on the bar counter for the guests. Apples and a water dispenser in the gym. Complementary bottle of water in the room. Newspapers and a couple of computers at the entrance. The rooms are spacious, the beds are very confortable with quality linen and the bathroom has bathtub, shower and bidet. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is either on business (good wifi) or for pleasure (location). I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Hôtel bien situé, parking privé très appréciable. Ma chambre était propre et spacieuse. Seul ombre au tableau, la vue horrible sur une arrière cour qui donne vraiment l’impression d’étouffer… les fenetres sont d’ailleurs recouvertes d’un film opaque. Petit déjeuner copieux et varié.

This hotel is in a great location in the city, close to the subway, bus, and lots of things to see. The room was nice but it did get a little loud at times when other guests were in the hallways. I don't think management can do much about that though because it is just how it is constructed. The room was spacious and had a great view of the street. There aren't really any frills with this hotel as the breakfast is not included and there is no pool but that was fine with us.

The staff was friendly and kind Great room- the terrace was wonderful and we spent time there in the early morning and watched the evening descend on the Garcia neighborhood. Being a beautiful older building the room was cozy and well appointed. Comfortable bed. Metro was a short walk as were all of the little shops, cafes and neighborhood plazas. Also- there was safe parking at the hotel- great bonus. We will be back!

Only down side is no pool if you stay in mid summer you might need to cool off. . I liked the area away from the crowds but close enough to walk everywhere.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was quite disappointed with my experience. Upon entering my room on the third day, I found a massive cockroach in the toilet. Additionally, the hotel did not offer any umbrellas for guests to borrow or rent in the lobby, something I would expect from a proper hotel. Overall, although the stay was decent, the lack of cleanliness and basic guest amenities made my stay quite unpleasant. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and makes the necessary improvements.

The staff was polite, accommodating and helpful. The property was kept very clean. Two concerns were that 1) it was the hottest days on record for June and despite our making sure it was on the lowest setting, our air-conditioning did not adequately cool until the early hours of the morning and it was hard to sleep; 2) the room was extremely small, tight and hard for 2 people to move around. There were no drawers for clothes, a tiny closet for hanging items and no place to lay out luggage other than the bed.

This was a very nice experience. People were very friendly and helpful with all our needs. The room was comfortable and very clean.

Very clean, quiet hotel and only 5 min walk to train station. With a family of 5, the family room with two adjoining rooms was perfect. A great place to come back to after a long day of sightseeing. Nice little cafe for coffee, tea and pastries right across the street.

Hotel got the job done for the price. Honestly we enjoyed our stay as the location is perfect for getting around Barcelona in a walkable way but also convenient for taking the train. The hotel staff was friendly always saying hello. My only complaint is that the hallway and rooms smelled very mildew and old.

Clean room

The 1st room we were assigned had a toilet that faced the front of the bidet. There was so little room between them that while on the toilet you also straddled the bidet. Also, the left closet door was falling off. The HVAC in the 2nd room didn't work. Thankfully the window opened. But there was no screen and someone could easily enter our room off the flat roof. The shower was great. The safe didn't work.

My room small with no true window. Virtually no natural light comes into room. Very claustrophobic.

It was pretty disappointing to get a room with a window facing a wall and pipes. I’d appreciate to have this info while booking a room.

As a four-star hotel, I anticipated a superior experience beyond a pleasant lobby. However, the room was outdated, featuring an uncomfortable mattress that transmitted every movement of my husband. Furthermore, the sheets were of subpar quality. Additionally, we received only one complimentary mid-sized bottle of water to share. When I requested another, I was informed that I would have to purchase it from the restaurant, which was highly priced . Consequently, I opted to purchase one from the convenience store. In contrast, the previous four-star hotel we stayed at provided us with additional as we checked out. Little things matter sometimes.

This is an excellent hotel. The price was EXCELLENT. The room was very nice. The staff was excellent. The building itself is in a very great location with several bus lines and metro lines with 5 minutes walking. I gave it 4 stars for a small, but meaningful reason: room temp. We set our room to 20 degrees Celsius which is 68 F, the normal temp our house is set to. However, our air conditioner definitely was not producing enough power to keep the room at 20 C. If my wife is complaining it’s too warm at night, you definitely know it’s warm. In the end, we just slept with the window open and that mostly solved our problem. However during the summer time, I would not want to be stuck in that room. BUT, we definitely would stay here again, we were overall happy with our room!

The hotel management didn’t notify me of my double booking of 2 rooms prior to my arrival. I was charged for the 2 rooms, in addition to my paid tour rooms. The management was unfriendly.

We were so impressed with the staff at the front desk, they even called us a taxi and assisted us with our luggage. The bedroom and bathroom were quite large and we really felt pampered.

Food was very delicious, close to important places I wanted go, rooms are very comfortable; and the most important for me was the stuff, all of they were very kind and helpful when I needed.

This is by far one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. We felt extremely safe while staying at Hotel Balmoral. The staff were phenomenal and extremely professional. They have a positive work environment and treated all guests and themselves with the utmost respect. Whenever we come back to Barcelona, this is the ONLY place I would consider staying at!

The front desk was very friendly but they gave us a room that was occupied by someone else. They did correct this immediately and apologized. The room was clean and the shower was huge. The refrigerator dripped water the 1st day. The hotel is close to dining and attractions. We were abe to walk to Segrada Familia, it took about 30 minutes. I would stay here again.

The hotel was a great location, near La Rambla and handy to several sites and hop on hop off bus. Breakfast was not included which would have been nice. The desk staff was helpful and assisted us with getting transportation to the airport.

Stayed here for five days in September 2024, a lovely hotel. The room (double) was great for two travelers, clean, quiet and breakfast was amazing, staff was kind and helpful. Wonderful neighborhood-- easy access to Metro.

Great location amongst all the high end retail shops so felt safe any time of night. Walking distance straight to ramblas but just enough distance away to be calmer. V friendly staff and lovely breakfast. Room was comfortable and clean. Would definitely recommend

The bed was comfortable. The shower was excellent with good drainage (something I found lacking in many places in. Spain). We opted to add breakfast for a more leisurely morning. It was well located for walking to many of the main sites and easy to catch a cab when needed.

Breakfast alone is worth staying here. Location is pretty good and a short walk to a lot of interesting places/restaurants/shops. Staff is very kind and attentive. Two elevators. Rooms are quiet and cozy. Rooms are small, but this is a European city and the price here is fair.

The hotel is a bit away from many of the attractions and restaurants, but we were able to walk so it was convenient for us. There is shopping nearby. The hotel is beautiful and has a very nice breakfast buffet. Our room was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed our stay.

good location, short walk to Metro and bus stops, shopping ( on Gracia st.), surrounded by many restaurants. Staff not welcoming and friendly. Hotel does have a good breakfast and variety of items but they do not get refilled.
