Location was great, staff were friendly but parking was a issue, their charge you £12 per day ( it wasn’t the issue) car park was small and also out to the public with no priority to hotel guesses which meant we found our self’s with no spaces after paying for the day

Hi it's not the worst hotel for an overnight stay .. the whole place is not particularly clean and all carpets etc seem very old.. the single person room i booked was absolutely tiny. but i would forgive all of this if not for a couple of things. You have to pay £12 a day for parking? This is nuts. I pay to stay in your hotel i should be able to park there. You have to pay for wifi? again ridiculous. And finally, i asked to leave my car in the car park for 1.5 hours only after my checkout time for reasons outside my control. Any other hotel would just be like "sure", it's not a big deal. However this place charged me £6 for the privlege. Not impressed.

No food facilities and no bar, pretty basioc but it was ok, suited me.

Pay for parking??? Not a good start! Friendly reception staff but not the most welcoming reception area! Hotel required a £50 deposit, held on my card and they required photo ID, photocopied! I didn't like that idea! A tiny, very slow and grubby elevator to 3rd floor and a mazey walk to the room. Talk about basic! Grubby bed base, springy mattress, side light not working. Saving grace was heating, TV, clean bedding and towels. We dumped our bag and went out. Upon our return at midnight, went to make a cuppa but the kettle tripped the power and lights. Got a replacement, thank you, Sammy. I made a cuppa but it was awful. Morning came, I had a shower but wife refused to use it. Rust and grubbiness in cubicle. Only small tablet of handsoap. I had brought my own shower gel! Fortunately it was just for one night else we'd have insisted on a better room or moved out. If I'd known it was this bad I'd never have booked it. The hotel is in desperate need of renovating. Maybe it be was just our room? It was claimed to be full but not many parked cars nor faces seen!

The fact i asked for some milk and i got charged 25p each for those tiny milk pots was terrible. Thats the first hotel thats ever charged me for some milk and the £ 5 for 24 hours of WIFI is terrible 😑 all other hotels dont charge

Friendly staff. The bed and sheets/ towels were a good standard. Had to buy teabags/ coffee from reception. The tea didn’t taste nice. Wi-Fi wasn’t included so we didn’t buy it. There was no breakfast which was disappointing. They made an excellent curry in the evening which we bought separately. Hot water was not always available. Sadly we wouldn’t book again.

This hotel is in an excellent location, 4-5 minutes from the beach and was the best priced hotel for a family on a very tight budget. The hotel has parking and there was plenty of space making arrival a stress free experience and it was even better to find out from the friendly reception staff, that if we were to pay for the parking using the code inside the hotel then the parking would be even cheaper than we thought. The hotel was definitely in need of renovation and a deep clean of the shared areas and hallways but this was made very clear in emails prior to our stay and we were happy with taking that as a small con against all the pros. Our room itself was lovely and clean and they provided everything we needed. We were delighted to see they had provided two fans for our quite hot third floor room as I've previously had an experience with a hotel very close by that was higher star and did not even provide that. There is a pool table free of charge near reception that the children enjoyed whilst waited for clouds to disappear and the staff were happy to provide as many tea, coffee and milks as we needed and we're big tea drinkers! Over all Russel Courts was a lovely hotel and for those who are on a tight budget and would love to give their children a seaside experience during the very experience school holidays, this is a great hotel. We would definitely visit again.

Given the price and the warning from the site that refurbishment was required, we weren't expecting too much. Sadly, things were even worse than expected. This place is way past its' best before date and although the price may look cheap, by the time all the extras are added on it would be just as cheap to stay somewhere much nicer. Extras.??? Well, let's start with £12 to park the car. Although a kettle is provided, tea and coffee and milk is EXTRA, leave by 10a.m. or it's £10 per person per hour to be paid. Leave your luggage before check in..? £2.50 per item. You have to leave a £50 card authorisation in case you....... I don't know what.! There is a TV in the room but when we arrived and settled down for a bit of TV before bed the choices were BBC news, ITV news or two other choices of Al Jazzera. This place is stuck in the era it was last updated... the 1960's.!!!

Very run down hotel as can be expected with seaside towns but the room was unkept and in dire need of refurb. Bathroom was very small and had no door. Shower was grotty and had little pressure. I did get this on a cheap deal so I suppose it could have been expected but I would not stay here again. Also you have to pay £12 parking a day which I only read after booking my non refundable room.

Lift was supper small. It said baby cot is available but it was not. Others is okay.

This is a nice hotel that is clean, mostly very well kept, and excellent value for money. It is near the beach and eating areas of Bournemouth. Definitely worth a future booking.

The hotel is in need of a renovation, bathroom tiles off, toilet leaking. Our room was not serviced. There were no other facilities, food, drinks etc. The only positive thing was that the kind young man on reception went to a local shop for ice for our champagne.

The hotel is in very poor condition and very dirty.Quilt should have been thrown away with the pillows.Tea tray filthy no complimentary tea,coffe etc. bathroom dirty and needed redoing.I dread to think what was struck at the bottom of the toilet. I have never been in such a dirty place. It is being falsely avertised as the pictures shown on the website of the hotel were taken some time ago just look at the portable tv and are nothing like how the rooms are now. After you have paid which is nonrefundable they send you an email stating the hotel is being refurbished but that is rubbish the place has not been touched for decades and no signs of any work being done.Clean quilts and pillows should be standard and the ones I had should have been thrown away they were not fit for humans to use only fit for the bin.Sleeping on the beach would have been better.If you have any sense stay away from this hotel.. I cannot believe they charge so much for this hotel.The hotel should be condemned.

Not clean, broken fixtures, dirty carpets, dirty bedsheets and bedding. Broken shower doors, overflowing blocked showers. Dirt in and around the shower (had not been cleaned) Overall a very bad hotel. Poor customer service quite rude.

I have stayed in places all over the world for the grandest hotels to the corridors of houses with no windows. This is the worst place on the planet the room and bathroom were filthy and it was a very scary environment.

Dusty, mouldy toilets

Great location close to the shops and the beach. Room was generally clean apart from a stain on the carpet and lipstick on the bathroom door

The hotel was not very clean very unorganised. Saff were find but the hotel is very runned down. Cleanness was not great and the bathrooms not the best with shower being the worse thing with water

The room still had used toiletries from previous guests. On arrival there were 4 men all dressed in various t-Shirts loitering behind the reception who were apparently staff but no name badges. Reported the blocked sink in our room but they just looked at me. Ended up leaving a night early because my daughter and I felt uncomfortable there.

This hotel is really poor, currently reported to trading standards as its nothing like advertised and Hotels.com are trying to help It was a cheap room but you still expect a clean room, the hotel was filthy outside and in, using as a halfway house

Pros : the floor had been hovered, bed had fresh sheets covering disgusting the mattresses and beds. Cons: all the furniture was very aged, sink almost falling off wall, broken tiles dirty grout, mattress’s are disgusting with stains, burn holes, others had blood stains, dirty curtains, all very well worn. If it was £30/40 a night fine, but at closer to £100 a night I do expect more. If I ever came again I’d spend and extra £10/20 a night and go next door to the royal bath hotel next door which was more like what I expected to see. Overall Disappointed, I stayed here as a child it was a nice place which is why I chose it, there was no signs of it undergoing refurbishment. To the owners : You can do better to bring the property to its former glory.

The hotel is situated in a spot that would be perfect for holidaymakers but seems to cater to crowds looking to drink themselves stupid. On check in, I was told that the noise from the bar would "probably calm down around midnight." If I hadn't prepaid with a non-refundable option, I would have left. The room smelled like old cigarette smoke, I had to open the windows all night to air the place out. I'm glad I only stayed one night. Never again.

Onsite parking by the seafront, great value, close to amenities. Room was clean and large, hallways and corridors were messy leading to the room.

Health and safety issue with bath. No grip or bath mat. Inside is very slippery. Mattress in the room not suitable and the carpet in the room is not great around the corners of the room and around the wardrobe not cleaned.

Perfectly adequate spacious accommodation in an ideal spot very close to Bournemouth Beach. Friendly staff. £7.50 charge for parking per 24hrs. Very budget friendly.

Stains looking carpets in the rooms . Cannot go bare footed with slippers on.

We were told on arrival there were problems with our room but the hotel was full. No hot water. Room very hot with radiator on? Window would not open so no ventilation. There was a fan but it just circulated the hot air. No plugs in sink or bath. No TV been removed. Asked for glasses which staff got for us. Asked for an extra pillow twice never arrived. The receptionist offered to move us on our second day but we decided not to move. Great location but tired and dated. Staff pleasant and tried to help.

Property being renovated so understood not perfect. Bed amazingly comfy but sticky dirty drawers and shower had no power

Fantastic Stay Perfect Location Near the Beach! I recently stayed at this hotel in Bournemouth, and I had a wonderful experience. The location is amazing, just a 5-minute walk to the beach, which made it easy to enjoy the sea and the beautiful views. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The staff were all very friendly, especially the receptionist named Ajeesh, who was welcoming, polite, and always happy to help. He really made me feel at home. The hotel is also close to shops, restaurants, and local attractions, which made everything very convenient. If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-located place near the beach with great service, I highly recommend this hotel. I would definitely stay here again!

Booked & paid 2 months prior. On arrival advise our booking had been cancelled by them as over booked. No prior notification & not concern for putting it right. just kept saying they cancelled it as they overbooked, with no solution or compensation. Other hotels on the day were extortionate prices due last minute booking & events in the the area. Whilst we were trying to find alternative accommodation ourselves, another couple checked out a day early, which we overheard. It took us to suggest to the staff that they can get that room cleaned & we'll have that one. They then had to check to say we'd have to pay again as refund in progress but we'd have to wait 7 days for it. Then made out they were doing us a favor by saying we could have the room at the same rate we previously pay & not at the rate it was on the day, which was 4 times more. When we finally got into the room it was dirty, uncleaned toilet, no hot water, stained dirty carpets, no mattress protector. We would have been better off sleeping in the car or on the beach. Overall, a terrible experience & would never book again either at this hotel or through Expedia.

When we arrive at the hotel, nobody was on the desk and there were signs saying lifts are broke, no food served an hotel was full. Had to walk into the kitchen to find 2 staff, who were cooking something. Thankfully no food was served cos the kitchen was disgusting, covered in grime and grease everywhere. Asked the fella was anyone going to check us in, he rang a manager an 10 minutes later someone turned up telling us the hotel was full and we were to be refunded as we had no room! Was told they text us, literally an hour before we arrived, which i didnt see anyway cos i was driving. No refund in the bank, so we argued with the manager who then rang somebody else. We were put on loudspeaker, then was told there is room for us. The rooms were not what we booked and were just horrible. The bar, which was closed, had some bloke asleep in there, an the next morning the lad on reception was having a joint in his PJs, complete an utter the scruffiest place I've ever stayed in!

It is an old hotel currently under refurbishment. Friendly staff are doing what they can to be helpful in a run down hotel. I would only revisit when it has been fully refurbished, which will take a while. The new owner was welcoming and enthusiastic about the job ahead of him. Very run down but beds clean and tea in the room. You get what you pay for, and it was very cheap. I wouldn't recommend the hotel unless you are watching your pennies. Good luck to the refurbishment.

Friendly staff although the hotel does need a little updating but you are pre-warned of this. The rooms are clean and it is in a great location and ideal for a weekend trip.

We enjoyed the view and the distance from the hotel to the beach. It was very convenient. The beds were comfy and the staff were very friendly and helpful as well. Overall we really enjoyed our trip and it was a pleasure booking this hotel.

If you want a Hotel with no frills and basic this is for you. Great location.

Hotel not in a great state and definitely not value for money, they even charge you extra for a sea view instead of just acommodating that need. The property badly needs cleaning outside and doesn't have fit for purpose facilities in the room, why put a kettle in room and not give guests drink making items to make teas/coffees. Hotel has a habit of letting the wrong kind of guests stay there, such as stag and he dos, get away from hosting such groups there are other places in bournemouth that can fit them in.

The staff were all super polite and helpful. We were 3 couples on a long weekend break and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Its not a modern hotel but but neither are the prices! Great value for money with clean rooms, comfortable beds and the food in the restaurant was very good also. We will definitely be going there again!
