Great location in the centre of town easy to access everything, hotel has all the amenities you expect for novotel, room was spacious and bed was comfortable. I would probably not recommend driving, it was difficult to drop off items as limited drop off bays out the front and car park was full. It was very busy due to school holidays and it was a bit chaotic in the lobby, lifts were slow, we were early and had a great breakfast but people were waiting in line for a table when we left. Overall still a good stay and we had buffet breakfast included in our room rate which made it very good value for money.

convenient location near to city centre, restaurants and attractions. Pool was warm and pleasant and very well maintained by dedicated staff member who took pride in his role. Nice cosy bar with books to read. Parking is limited but excellent options very close by.

We have stayed at Novotel many times over the years however the state of the hotel for this stay was horrible. Dirty socks from previous guest left in our room, beds were so uncomfortable where the four of us had no sleep for two nights, the pillows were flat and old, the carpets were worn out and dirty. Cleaner came on second day and only fixed beds. Did not clean the room. The bathroom had no soap or body wash and only shampoo and conditioner. There was no parking available for guests so we had to park a few blocks away and lug our luggage through Canberra streets. The pool was not clean nor heated. Very bad experience this time around z we won’t be staying there again.

Clean room, clean and tidy premises, friendly, polite and professional staff, i used self check in and all went well apart from the machine not issuing me keys, but it was still very breezy to get my keys from reception as i did all the preliminary check in and pre auth at the kiosk to the left of reception. We didnt utilose the breakfast, but my kids used the pool, and although i felt bad for any poeple without kids at the pool, everybody at the hotel pool was so accepting of the school holiday influx of kids in the pool. We felt very comfortable letting our kids enjoy their time in the pool and NEVER felt that they were being a nuisance. (My kids are quite well behaved but some people dislike happy and rowdy children, which i respect, but makes me feel uncomfortable and uptight if i know) Id stay again because our stay just felt easy. Thankyou Novotel for an overall lovely experience.

The shower would go from scolding hot to freezing cold without notice. We could not shower the children for safety reasons. My husband and I both were scolded several times. Extremely unsafe. And for the hot water to even reach that temperature shows evidence of no regulator being fitted.

We stayed in a double room which was way too small, the bathroom was tiny, the bathroom sink wasn’t in the bathroom and came into the kitchen section which was very weird. The safe was in the closet and we had no room to hang Our clothes. I expected it to much better for a Novotel. Pool was good though and great location.

It is a dated hotel. The carpet is old. My room was directly across form the lift entry so you could hear everyone waiting for there lift. the hot water would run out after 1 shower i dont think you would ever be able to fill a bath.

Have stayed at the Novotel in years past but this has by far been the most disappointing. Long lines for check in, our room cards didn’t work on first attempt so had to go and join the queue again and wait. Got to the room and the room is very tired and dirty - questionable marks on the carpet and wall, dirty glassware, no toilet brush. The bed was very uncomfortable and no block out blinds. We have stayed in other Novotels before and they are of much higher quality than this, even previous years we haven’t had this poor a stay. There was also a blood stain mark on the wall in the corridor and empty alcohol bottles and rubbish in the lifts. The parking situation is a shambles without the valet parking with cars parking with no regard to the signage, parking in spots which weren’t car spots and car trailers parked across several spots with no one policing it, which is a joke. Had to park in the council car park two blocks down. Despite being happy with our stays in previous years, this has put a damper on our weekend away and we will not be returning.

Long delays at check-in and when we left the hotel sometime later there was still a substantial queue. We were unable to get a booking for the restaurant in spite of a large portable advertising sign advertising the restaurant outside the front of the hotel. Suggested the sign should be removed and advice from hotel staff was that “there are plenty of places outside the hotel to eat”! Staff were very dismissive and none were wearing name tags. Room very tired. Overall very disappointing and not a great introduction to Canberra.

Be careful, don't stay in this hotel if you drive here. The parking system is a joke. The manager says that it is the way they make money. They can’t even maintain the room clean. Dirt everywhere. Dishwares of the restaurant are so dirty.

Quick check in and check out. Limited staff around. We had no bath towels in our room. We called every service on the phone and finally spoke to concierge. Towels arrived 25 mins later. I had to dry my body and hair with a hand towel. Not ideal!

Very comfortable beds, great location only a short walk from a massive shopping centre. In-house restaurant was lovely with an cosy bar. There is a very hip “food court” with interconnecting wine bars just across the road. On-site parking was a bit tricky as it was full but good that the lit up sign displayed how many parking spaces were free (so I went around the block and 1 space became available).

Clean rooms and great location - close to shops, cafes and restaurants. In terms of hotel facilities - we’ve stayed at many hotels - including other Accor ones - around the world and this was below par. Housekeeping wraps up by 1pm, so if you want rooms cleaned, that won’t happen again until the next day. Service at check in not as warm and welcoming as in other hotels. The breakfast buffet was boring and had very view options. People are still paying good money for this so it should be better. At other buffets, you are led to a table and coffee orders are taken. Here, you have to pay an extra charge for coffee if you want it made, otherwise you make your own coffee at a machine that literally serves water. Shout out to Kenneth who went above and beyond for us at the buffet, apologised for the limited options (not his fault), and made us amazing cappuccinos. Overall, great location, clean rooms but compared to other Accor hotels we’ve stayed at in Australia and globally, this one has a lot to live up to.

The Novotel is in a great location with a light rail stop outside and 2 blocks walk to the shopping centre which has lots of food options.Unfortunately the hotel itself not great. Our room had broken fittings like door stop and towel rail, the furniture was very dated, and hot/cold taps were labelled the wrong way around... a safety issue. The tiny shower/bath was not great. The parking situation is out of control. For 800+ guests there's maybe 100 spots available and they are all taken by the early afternoon so with 2 young kids we had to scramble to drop off at the door with one parent while the other went to the overflow parking around 4 blocks away and walked back in Canberra winter weather, then went to get the car again in the morning to pick up again which wasted 30min each time. Roadworks and closures near the hotel meant driving around the block taking a lot longer and walking to parking a longer way around. The breakfast buffet has a sign telling you at peak times the wait in line for a table is 20min but we found it was around 30min when we stayed. In 4 days the options had not been changed or refreshed once, it was all exactly the same, and one coffee machine was out of service the entire time. The food kept running out and it was hard to find a staff member to help. Each time I asked for sugar and stirrers I was told they should be on the table but a quick look around and you could see no one had any. No pepper in the grinder. Overall would not recommend

The Novotel is within walking distance to shops and many restaurants. Parking however was additonal for guests and not cheap, charged at over $30 per night, with no real viable alternatives available. They also ask you to pay for your stay on check-in which personally I'm not a fan of as I prefer to pay for the entire stay on check-out. There's no point choosing the 'pay at venue' option in expedia only to have to pay on arrival at the hotel. Might as well just pay on xpedia and get it over and done with. Pool was great for the kids however there is far too much chlorine in the pool and the kids were very red and itchy after spending 2-3 hours in there.

Most of the property was fine Very disappointed that the restaurant/ bar was closed on Sunday and blamed on Covid. Covid is in the past now and people need to stop hiding behind it. This was also a high occupancy weekend due to Summernats so property should have been staffed accordingly Valet parking was also expensive, only to be told we needed to collect our own vehicle when we were ready to leave
