South Beach Camps Bay Boutique Hotel

We recently celebrated my birthday at South Beach Camps Bay Boutique Hotel, and can confidently say it was one of the best experiences we've ever had! We stayed for two nights, and it felt like a little slice of paradise. The moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Their hospitality was unmatched, and they truly made us feel special. The highlight of our stay was how they surprised me on my birthday morning with a lovely bottle of champagne, cupcakes, a bouquet of red roses, a cheerful birthday balloon, and a heartfelt card from the staff. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made my day even more memorable. The hotel itself is located directly at the beach (1min walk across the road) and has fantastic facilities: two beautiful pools, a well-equipped gym, asps, and a rooftop bar offering stunning views plus the indoor lounge area, cozy and perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Our sea view room had a very comfortable bed, fully stocked kitchen and fridge for every taste. What truly sets this hotel apart are the art installations that adorn every corner of the property. From the moment you step inside, you're surrounded by captivating artworks that add a unique charm to the atmosphere. Each walk through the hotel felt like an art discovery, and it was a pleasure to appreciate the creativity displayed throughout the building. Overall, our stay at South Beach Camps Bay Boutique Hotel was nothing short of exceptional.

Extremely excellent staff, I cant say enough about the staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful from the moment we drove up to the garage. Beautiful resort with a great view. We got upgraded to a bigger room with a private pool which felt and looked like a dream house, but I’m sure other rooms are just as nice. Fridge is stocked daily with food/drinks. Good location, a short walk to everything…beach, market, restaurants, etc. The area and property felt very safe. Plenty of parking in secured garage.

We had booked this hotel part of a bigger 3 weeks trip across Africa for a beach escape between safaris: the property is well located, overlooking the beach, modern building.However, the service delivered is a bit too "boutique" for the pricing: morning delivery of baked goods for breakfast at your door is nice but unpredictable...we had booked a suite with pool but discovered that it is sort of isolated from the hotel main building which as pros and cons. Wifi, remote controls were initially not working, pool was not heated, some sliding glass doors stuck: The property is visibly aging and the construction above during the day is sort of ruining the pool side experience...The common spaces are a bit cramped, the pool sides nice but bar service limited .If it were not for Charlisse (front desk) who saved the day every time with her attention and can-do attitude, the place would be a mess. Still a good hotel pick but it needs some work to justify the price warranted...

Great location and nice rooms. The balcony unfortunately loooked straight onto the street no privacy. The pool bar was nice but the infinity pool is only about 4 ft deep and not nice water, the other pool was refreshing but not very clean, overall it’s a nice hotel but nothing special.

The room was huge, it had a well stocked kitchen, the bathroom was lovely and balcony was nice and private I had originally booked a more expensive room which had direct access to the pool but changed it to a cheaper one. Really glad I did that as all rooms have very easy access to the pool The service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble There’s a yoga mat in the room which is a nice touch along The hotel gave us two drinks vouchers which was great and nice to have a glass of wine at the rooftop bar The art at the hotel was amazing! The other hotels l’d looked at included The Bay Hotel and The Marley. Worth noting they’re directly on the main road so will be noisier than South Beach hotel I would certainly recommend this hotel if you’re staying in Camps Bay

This hotel from a service aspect was one of the best we have ever stayed. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Complimentary food in the fridge and fresh bread on the door in the morning. Great patios and pools on both buildings. Views from both those and every room. It was fantastic. Would not stay anywhere else in Cape Town when we return

Great location. Friendly staff. Nice bright room serviced every day. Cook your own breakfast which is provided. Washing facilities if required, small gym. Great massage!

I loved that they had a garage to park in and the police station is right next to the hotel. 2 blocks to a lot of wonderful Restaurants with a beach view. And right across the street from to tide pools for swimming. I would definitely recommend here for anyone staying in Cape Town or camps bay.

Great location in Camps Bay, walking distance to the restaurants and beach. Directly across from the tidal pool, which is nice for calm morning dips in the sea. Modern and clean suite was basically a mini-apartment with a fridge/freezer and kitchen with DIY breakfast. Cool rooftop bar / pool for sunset drinks. Very nice and friendly staff. Only stayed one night, but wish it was longer!

Mycket trevligt hotell nära stranden i Camps bay. Fantastiskt utsikt och väldigt trevlig pool på hustaket. Perfekt om man vill ta sig ett dopp och tycker att vågorna i havet är för stora.

Overall not a bad property. We stayed at two other properties in Camps Bay and this one was our least favorite. Location is great as it is right next to the beach, great view for sunset, and staff was great. Our room overall was good however it had an unpleasant smell, and when we ran the AC there was black dust that went all over the bed. To be fair we never notified the front desk, as we were only here one night - I am sure they would have fixed the issue. If you are looking for a place with a great location and walking distance to many restaurants this is a great place however the hotel could step it up in cleanliness.

The highlights: Beautiful art throughout the property and lovely views of the water. The lowlights: Room condition was tired and bathroom could benefit from a deep clean. More in line with a 2 star property (US standards). There is no restaurant despite it being listed as an amenity and full breakfast included is yogurt, bacon & eggs in the fridge that you need to prepare yourself with limited kitchenware.

It’s a nice boutique hotel with great artwork in reception and a real vibe. Location is fantastic for Camps Bay and the dining options and proximity to everything is great. Parking also a huge bonus. The biggest let down was cleanliness. The shower was covered in mould and you could smell it and see it. They didn’t clean the plastic around the shower and it even rubbed off on my foot. Also the communication around the breakfast could have been better. They told us when we arrived that they don’t have a onsite kitchen and instead we’d be given bread each morning (hung on door) and the fridge was stocked with breakfast foods that we could request for new items. It was basically a cook yourself breakfast. We didn’t utilise this once as we thought we were paying for a breakfast inclusive hotel

It is near the Theatre so we booked a show which added to the wonderfull stay. Close to everything but out of the bustle. 3 of the electrical sockets and the USB charging port in the room did not work but that was a small thing.

Overall not a bad property. We stayed at two other properties in Camps Bay and this one was our least favorite. This is a wonderful hotel and a fantastic location. The staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and accommodating. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable. The kitchens are perfect for an extended stay. We would absolutely stay here again.

Exceeded our expectation! Staff were wonderful, great at locale recommendations and calling up for bookings. Rooms and bathrooms were massive. Great views and the pool areas were good to catch sun

Absolutely gorgeous, modern spacious suite. Patio with private pool. Another patio off the kitchen with a barbecue. Kitchen stocked with breakfast choices, complimentary. . Excellent location with view of the beach and sunset.. Fresh bread delivery in the morning. Delightful.

Amazing hotel, they kindly upgraded my room and it was safe, peaceful and lovely. My one issue was that for the breakfast i repeatedly told them about my allergies and somehow they gave me the food containing my allergies.

Great location,walking distance to a lot of nice restaurants. The front desk team was very helpful and responsive.

The service was excellent. Special request like food delivery or a request for a doctor (because of a previous safari illness) were met promptly. You get what you pay for, but we certainly good a very nice room and view. Anthony Maxfield, Victoria BC Canada

The hotel was located in a great location in Camps Bay, a short walk to the beach and to nearby restaurants. Free breakfast provided to the room (make it yourself) as well. Easy access to amenities and laundry as well.

This hotel was the perfect for my vacation. Slightly off the beaten path so quiet enough for rest, but close enough to walk to nearby restaurants and bars. I would 10/10 book another stay at this property.

Very nice location at the beach

My husband and I live in Washington DC and we went to Camps Bay/ Cape Town for our 10th wedding anniversary and had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The hotel staff were kind, helpful, responsive and friendly. (They were all wonderful but we’d like to give a special shout out to Sinza and Yaerika!) The rooms are beautiful and the location is perfect. It’s close to the beach and walking distance of lots of beachfront restaurants. The hotel stocks the room daily with a variety of foods (including fresh bread, smoked trout, eggs, bacon, fruit, yogurt, avocado, and more). We are so happy we found South Beach Camps Bay—it was perfect!

Hotel is right on the beach and we had a beautiful view w a balcony. The refrigerator was well stocked with breakfast supplies and fresh baked goods would be hanging on our door every morning. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. The property is located near some great restaurants - we tried Primi (casual) one night and Codfather another/ both were fantastic and close to the hotel. We recommend reservations at Codfather since it was busy w locals which is how we knew right away it would be phenomenal. Also the hotel is close to Table Mountain, another must do.

The pool was fabulous! The location was away from the hustle and bustle in camps bay so nice and quiet, but still just a short walk to all beaches and restaurants. The breakfast was a nice touch! The fridge was stocked daily with breakfast items and you could cook on your own timeframe. Daily fresh bread and pastries were delivered daily as well!
