Good value place to stay. Check in was swift and easy, once I’d found somewhere to park. Advert description says parking available but what that means is that there is an abundance of parking available in NCP type car parks within a 5 minute walk of the hotel. Room was clean, tidy, comfortable and well appointed. Evening meal was adequate and reasonable value but with limited choice. Breakfast was good value with something for everyone. Music from a nearby bar was loud until quite late (11ish) but I was able to sleep through it. The bits that need updating is the entrance to the hotel as it’s tired looking and not very inviting. The steps in are broken with big chunks missing so first impression was not good. Stairway and hallway carpets were also old and looks really bad. I was pleasantly surprised at the room which made all the difference.

Just stop off stay on way home to cut journey. Reception area pleasant . Lift very small and rickety. Hotel very dated on stairways. Hotel room small with poor sound proofing. Bed comfortable. Plumbing poor. Water heat issues. Shower plug blocked

Lovely Budget Hotel... Very clean, exceptional staff, delicious buffet breakfast, wonderful bed and fresh linens... But, please add a little fresh paint & change the badly worn carpets. The carpets and paint give a negative impression on arrival. Will happily stay in this hotel on my next visit.

The room was used more as a base as we had a day and night out planned. The room was surprisingly small but did what it was intended for. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to give directions etc as we tried to find club after club. The location is fantastic, there's a pleasant reception area with a nice decor and a small bar. I would definitely return!

In general everyjing was good with this place, staff we met seemed friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable and provided everything needed for a relaxed stay. I had booked a Privilege Double room though as was visiting with my best friend and thought we'd enjoy a double bed each but also each others company. On check in though we were informed that the room wasnt available and so we had been given a double room each - which was fine but kind of spoilt our enjoyment a little and had no communications about it prior to arrival. Location is very central and convenient to everything... Frenchgate car park is a little walk from the hotel and although have a deal with the hotel, the receptionist did not know the correct password for a discount and the ones she gave me didn't work. Generally a pleasant stay overall though

Needed a convenient place to stay at budget price between arriving at 10 PM and leaving by 9 AM. Fitted the bill perfectly. Staff were friendly, room clean, quiet, temperature/adjustable and including desk and suitcase stand. Breakfast provided. Corridors and stairs were in rather worse condition than the rooms.

We got a freee upgrade to a premium room as the hotel was fully booked. It was a great room. Clean, good sized bed, waterfall shower and aircon.Would stay here again and staff were so lovely.

Room was clean , staff were friendly and helpful. Central location ideal if no car. Slight issue at check in , delayed due to staff sickness but staff dealt with it well , even upgrading me to a better room. Breakfast was good too

Punch hole in bathroom door, broken bottom of bathroom door, walls crumbling in bedroom. Tissue with blood on it under the bed, bed on a angle. While having breakfast, staff then came down and finished a lot of the buffet off before I had finished taking what I wanted. Just a overall bad stay and the £20 early check in was a joke as well as arrived 1 hour ealry

The staff were excellent, but the room.was substandard and not well maintained neither was it well prepared for guests. Little provisions were missing and the sink wasn't working.

Privilege room assignment: Thankfully given a quieter room not facing the High Street, which helped reduce noise. Room amenities: Reasonable space. Small fridge was a lifesaver during the hot August weather. ⚠️ Cons Noise issues: Hotel is surrounded by clubs and bars on the High Street. Even in a quieter room, low bass noise persisted late into the night. Tip: Request a room away from the street when booking. Wardrobe design flaw: Hangers placed above the fridge area. No ability to move hangers to a more spacious section. No suitable space for hanging longer garments like suits or dresses. Bed accessibility: Bed is unusually high. Difficult for older guests to climb in and out comfortably. Lighting inconvenience: Bedside lamps have no switches. No master control to turn off all lights from the bed. Requires getting up to switch off lights manually. Housekeeping lapse: Body soap dispenser was empty during shower. Requested refill took over 20 minutes with no action until chased. Very disappointing response time, especially when tired and needing rest. Basic amenities like soap should be checked and stocked proactively.

Didn’t like that one side of the double bed was stuck against the wall. Wasn't clear from the pictures this would happen. Fixtures hanging off walls and a hole in bathroom door. Staff were friendly and helpful

No coat hangers or heating. Only an oil filled radiator stored in the wardrobe. The bathroom sink was blocked and didn’t drain & the TV was on the wall at a right angle to the bed, making it impossible to watch tv in bed. Very noisy, doors in the corridor banging shut through the night.

Central location. All good n was happy to have a bath in bathroom. But neither bath or shower had hot water in the morning. Luke warm water. I did mention when checking out. The bed was really comfy tho

The room was lovely, the reception staff were great. Breakfast was extremely poor unfortunately. Hot plates were not kept topped up so hardly got anything and what we had was lukewarm and soggy. Unfortunately an incorrect charge was taken from my card after my stay which I queried and the hotel admitted it was a mistake and it would be refunded. This has still not been refunded and has put me in some difficulty this week so I’m very upset about this.

✅ Pros Excellent location: Situated right in Doncaster town centre, very convenient for shops, transport, and local attractions. Privilege room assignment: Thankfully given a quieter room not facing the High Street, which helped reduce noise. Room amenities: Reasonable space. Small fridge was a lifesaver during the hot August weather. ⚠️ Cons Noise issues: Hotel is surrounded by clubs and bars on the High Street. Even in a quieter room, low bass noise persisted late into the night. Tip: Request a room away from the street when booking. Wardrobe design flaw: Hangers placed above the fridge area. No ability to move hangers to a more spacious section. No suitable space for hanging longer garments like suits or dresses. Bed accessibility: Bed is unusually high. Difficult for older guests to climb in and out comfortably. Lighting inconvenience: Bedside lamps have no switches. No master control to turn off all lights from the bed. Requires getting up to switch off lights manually. Housekeeping lapse: Body soap dispenser was empty during shower. Requested refill took over 20 minutes with no action until chased. The room was ok, staff when we arrived were lovely but the whole stay was spoiled with breakfast the next morning. The staff member was extremely rude, wouldn’t refill the food even though there was an hour left on it and when she eventually did bring more food out she shamed people for having 2 hash browns when people according to her only have 1. The location was great. The check in staff were fantastic. The rooms were clean. However this was all spoiled the next morning when we went for breakfast. It’s a buffet breakfast but with over an hour to go the team member refused to put out any additional hot food. When she eventually did she said we could only have 1 hash brown each etc. some other people came down for breakfast and asked only for the staff member to say that we must have eaten all the food as she just put some out. This was very embarrassing and I don’t know why she did it. If I’m paying £15 for a breakfast I will have 2 sausages and 2 hash browns without being made to feel awful. Also the bread rolls were hard as rocks.

Good value place to stay. Check in was swift and easy, once I’d found somewhere to park. Advert description says parking available but what that means is that there is an abundance of parking available in NCP type car parks within a 5 minute walk of the hotel. Room was clean, tidy, comfortable and well appointed. Evening meal was adequate and reasonable value but with limited choice. Breakfast was good value with something for everyone. Music from a nearby bar was loud until quite late (11ish) but I was able to sleep through it. The bits that need updating is the entrance to the hotel as it’s tired looking and not very inviting. The steps in are broken with big chunks missing so first impression was not good. Stairway and hallway carpets were also old and looks really bad. I was pleasantly surprised at the room which made all the difference.

Nice and clean hotel but very hot in the rooms as no air con and we were in a room on the Main Street and it was so noisy I barely got any sleep so not ideal getting woken up every hour by outside noise but other than that nice hotel

Because it was in the city centre it was very noisy until 4 in the morning, they provided ear plugs, which helped a little. It was unbearably hot. The bacon was hardly cooked, it looked as though it hadn't been near a grill so it was cold.

The receptionist staff was friendly and the beds were comfy. Everything was within a ten minutes walk from the hotel such as nightclubs, bars , restaurants, wool market and shopping centre. Decorated in the reception to the horse racing. It also had 2 ways to have a shower and a bath with a radiators in the bathroom.

Great experience grom start to finish. Lucy was particularly helpful. The room was spotless, very comfortable bed. The breakfast...wow, what a fantastic choice. The hot food choices were freshly cooked and brought out, so thete wasnt piles of food out drying out under the hot plate lights. It was just a continued supply straight from the kitchen. I would highly recommend this hotel. I look forward to my next stay here.

It was cheap and had availability last minute, I can now understand why. Shocking Room changes due to stains on sheets, the noise throughout my stay especially through the night was unbearable. Nothing like a drunken group fighting outside my window to drown out the road works being completed during the night. Breakfast in the morning was dreadful as the fruit and pastries already cleared out (by 7.45) in an almost empty restaurant. I won't be planning on staying here anytime soon.

Punch hole in bathroom door, broken bottom of bathroom door, walls crumbling in bedroom. Tissue with blood on it under the bed, bed on a angle. While having breakfast, staff then came down and finished a lot of the buffet off before I had finished taking what I wanted. Just a overall bad stay and the £20 early check in was a joke as well as arrived 1 hour ealry

Had to change room because the blackout curtain was nailed to the wall and couldn't be closed with street lamps outside, no soap in room. Staff was excellent in accommodating and changing room, which then had no hairdryer and a damp/mouldy smelling bath,

I don’t really have enough words… To start with, let me say the staff at this hotel are lovely. This is no reflection on them However… what a grim place to stay. Firstly the check in system was down…. Not a big problem, but it was the start of what was to come. I was told my room had been upgraded. Well, if that was an upgrade… I went to my room… the door was open, not just unlocked, but open. The floor (floor 3) stank of stale smoke including my room. It was like it had been a smokers floor years ago and the carpet and furnishings had never been changed. My colleagues room was another level! Totally disgusting smell… to the point her bag, hair and clothes smelled so strong. She also had a towel on the floor soaking up a stain. My room… I opened the curtains… a half empty bottle of water was on the window sill… clearly the curtains are never opened when cleaning and some vile yellow gloop. No hairdryer in the room. The fan was caked in dust and grim. Coffee but no milk to have a drink but my colleague had this. Three rooms, three grim experiences.. so bad we checked out after one night and have moved to another hotel.

Upon arrival went to room and ironing board there but no iron, no hairdryer, and no hand soap to wash your hands or shower wash. Room was quite clean although we stayed for 2 nights and they didnt refresh the room so I had to ask for toilet paper. I felt like cleaning people are a bit lazy there!
