The Atlantica was fine. The rooms were a good size and the beds were comfy. The swimming pool and changing areas were filthy, however, not just dirty but filthy. The water was so cloudy you couldn't see a yard in front of you. In my room there was no body wash and although this was resolved quickly it makes me wonder what housekeeping was doing when setting up the room. The location is good but it's not completely central.

Pool room and pool were so nice and warm , was nice to be able to comfortably swim with our kids . Lots of places to sit pool side also The hotel was clean and very well kept , comfortable beds , well appointed rooms We had breakfast off the menu and it was fabulous, homemade hollandaise sauce was a real treat and surprise. Waffles were ok but not very warm little stale ish Only complaint was the parking , on arrival it wasn’t bad but in the evening the only spot I could find I had to push in my mirrors and come out the trunk of my suv ….. for 25 dollars extra was not happy about the lack of space . Perhaps they should reduce the pay per use parking when the hotel is full

We enjoyed everything about our stay except the hot tub was not working during our stay & we were looking forward to it after full days of walking. Will continue to return as we have stayed at this property multiple times over the years.

Hotel is very comfortable, spacious room, good shower. It is well located. Easy to walk to main tourist attractions. Gym could be better but it is decent. Some weights and cardio equipment. I would def stay again and recommend

From the time we checked in till the time we checked out everything was absolutely perfect. When you go to check in they'll ask you for parking you say yes at the parking is right under the hotel. The pool in the hot tub were always clean and always had a great temperature. Will definitely be staying again.

Overall a decent stay! The parking situation is ridiculous. $25 per night and could never find a spot. They encouraged us to park on the street after we had already paid for four nights of parking. The concierge insisted on driving our vehicle into the lot to park it in a compact spot. Took at least fifteen minutes to get parked everytime we left the hotel. Wouldn’t come back here just based on the parking situation.

We stayed as a family of 5 in the corner bedroom with 2 queens and a pull out couch. The room was not prepared for a family of 5 and we had to call for additional sheets at 10pm. We also didn’t realize that there were only 2 bath towels in the bathroom and had to call for more towels at 7am the next day. This pattern continued for the three nights we stayed. Whenever I did call for more toilet paper or towels, the staff were extremely courteous and responsive, but it was frustrating to have to keep doing this during our stay. They offer a scheduled cleaning of your room if you hand it outside your door before 8am, which I did twice with no success.

Check-in was smooth and the front desk staff were polite, but unfortunately, the rest of the stay was disappointing. Housekeeping was unreliable. Some days, by 4 PM, our room still hadn’t been cleaned — no fresh towels, no trash removed, and no restocking of essentials. When we asked about it, we were told rooms are cleaned on a rotating schedule, which meant we returned from a long day out to an untouched room. For the price of this hotel, that’s simply not acceptable. The bathroom had no exhaust fan or proper ventilation, so after a shower, the bathroom stayed humid and uncomfortable. There was no way to air it out, and it made the bathroom feel stuffy and poorly maintained. The hotel’s location is also inconvenient — it’s about a 45-minute walk from the waterfront, so don’t expect easy access to the main attractions without a car or rideshare. We also tried the hotel restaurant, which was another letdown. The kitchen closes early at 9 PM, and the food and drinks were mediocre at best — definitely overpriced for the quality. You’re better off eating elsewhere. Overall, while the front desk staff were friendly, the hotel falls short in too many important areas. Between the poor housekeeping, lack of bathroom ventilation, inconvenient location, and overpriced dining, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

The property is beautiful and very well located. Easily accessible and the waterfront is only a 25 minutes walk away. There was noise outside the door with vacuum cleaning and the vacuum hitting up against the door. The internet kept dropping. Hotel restaurant food was overpriced and not very good. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious and clean.

Room was clean and recently updated. Location was pretty good. A decent walk to the Citadel and for the adventurous, walking distance to the waterfront. Although the walk back is a steep uphill climb. Some common areas showed signs of the hotel's age and could do with some repair or upgrading to match the rooms.

The room clearly went through a renovation fairly recently. Was clean and comfortable. The obly thing i would complain about is the hvac unit. It didnt matter whether i changed the temperature or even turned it off. It was running all night dueing my 3 night stay. Otherwise, great hotel.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at The Atlantica Hotel, Halifax – and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! Overall a nice hotel in a great location. Only minor complaint is that the doors between adjoining rooms were not as soundproof as they could have been. We could clearly hear conversation that seemed to be at normal speaking levels. I suspect that it just needs a seal at the bottom of the door, as a towel mitigated the problem.

super amazing front desk staff! I didn’t know you had to request your room to be clean, but other than that no hiccups. my room was at the end of the hall way and it was quiet and peaceful. I will say the parking is a little confusing upon arrival - I recommend parking first and then checking in!

The receptionists are not friendly, and we didn't feel welcomed. They don't smile. When I was at the front desk, I stood there waiting for the male receptionist to greet me, but he was too focused on his computer and radio. Feeling embarrassed, I walked away and asked my question to the restaurant staff instead. I understand he was busy, but he could have acknowledged me with a simple "one moment." The hotel should train its receptionists in good customer service. While the hotel is nice, I dislike that there is no microwave in the room. It's inconvenient to have to carry food down to the lobby to heat it. The staff in restaurant were great though.

The room was in good shape and the staff were nice. The management need improving and have some sympathy for an elder couple who had to leave early. The management still charged for the 2 nights that we couldn't stay. That was poor marketing because we will never recommend this hotel to any of our friends or aquaintances who want to visit Halifax because this.

Very nice hotel however when tried to check in at 2 pm was asked for my name and was told that in order to check in at 2 would have to pay extra as I booked on a third party site. As we booked on a third-party site, we felt like third class citizens or third class customers not given the same opportunities as others felt as though the front line staff treated us different.

The location is about a 25 minute walk downtown. The room was clean and the hotel felt safe. We just found that we always had to ask for them to provide enough towels for each guest staying in the room.

Check-in was smooth and the front desk staff were polite, but unfortunately, the rest of the stay was disappointing. Housekeeping was unreliable. Some days, by 4 PM, our room still hadn’t been cleaned — no fresh towels, no trash removed, and no restocking of essentials. When we asked about it, we were told rooms are cleaned on a rotating schedule, which meant we returned from a long day out to an untouched room. For the price of this hotel, that’s simply not acceptable. The bathroom had no exhaust fan or proper ventilation, so after a shower, the bathroom stayed humid and uncomfortable. There was no way to air it out, and it made the bathroom feel stuffy and poorly maintained. The hotel’s location is also inconvenient — it’s about a 45-minute walk from the waterfront, so don’t expect easy access to the main attractions without a car or rideshare. We also tried the hotel restaurant, which was another letdown. The kitchen closes early at 9 PM, and the food and drinks were mediocre at best — definitely overpriced for the quality. You’re better off eating elsewhere. Overall, while the front desk staff were friendly, the hotel falls short in too many important areas. Between the poor housekeeping, lack of bathroom ventilation, inconvenient location, and overpriced dining, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

The Atlantica Hotel Halifax is well located next to Quinpool with many food options within walking distance - most notably King of Donair and Tony's World Famous Donair! The parking situation is not great with a $25/day fee and spaces that are unusually small with a very low ceiling height in the parking garage. Do not attempt to enter with a Roof Rack luggage carrier or with a slightly elevated truck/SUV.

Wonderful property with very courteous and professional staff members. Although it is 15-20 walk to the harbour front, there is so much to see along the way! Very comfortable and clean room, great restaurant, experienced mixologists in the lounge who are happy to share knowledge of the local sights. This is our new favorite in Halifax!

A great place to stay with all the amenities one could need. We enjoyed our king room which had a nice view. Location is great. Be mindful that the restaurant closes at 9:00, as do many other restaurants in the area.

Pool room and pool were so nice and warm , was nice to be able to comfortably swim with our kids . Lots of places to sit pool side also The hotel was clean and very well kept , comfortable beds , well appointed rooms We had breakfast off the menu and it was fabulous, homemade hollandaise sauce was a real treat and surprise. Waffles were ok but not very warm little stale ish Only complaint was the parking , on arrival it wasn’t bad but in the evening the only spot I could find I had to push in my mirrors and come out the trunk of my suv ….. for 25 dollars extra was not happy about the lack of space . Perhaps they should reduce the pay per use parking when the hotel is full

They were blasting in the area so therefore the mice had moved into the restaurant on the first floor. It was a bit disturbing when it showed itself during our dinner. The bigger disappointment was when neither Expedia nor the hotel would issue any part of a refund when we checked out 1 night early due to my father being discharged a day earlier than planned. They each blamed the other for holding my money and not issuing a refund.

We arrived at the hotel and were fooled by its ambience, but soon when we got into our room, things started to change for worse… The USB charging was not working, not the other power plugs beside the bed… there was no ironing board, coffee maker was broken, asked for microwave, waited one hour and after repeated calls went to reception and then it was delivered BUT without glass tray inside and had some food from previous uses…. In filthy condition…… Second day my room was changed it had things in working but the mattress was so bad I had backache next day…… I will never go back to this hotel……

2 stars — mainly for the helpful staff. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. There is no convenient space in front of the hotel to stop and park for check-in, which makes arrival difficult. The entrance to the underground parking is also awkwardly positioned on the left rather than the right, making it easy to miss. The beds were very uncomfortable and definitely need improvement. The bathroom sink appeared to be poorly renovated—the design makes it difficult to wash your hands properly, and water runs over the countertop and onto the floor. The clothing iron was also in poor condition and leaked water all over our clothes. Overall, I expected a much better experience. In my opinion, many 3-star hotels provide a better overall stay than Hotel Atlantica. The staff were helpful and friendly, but unfortunately that wasn't enough to make up for the other issues.
