The room itself is smaller than most but well laid out. We liked the shower but a fan to clear steam would be nice if not please use the spray to prevent mirror fogging. A quick fix to the problem. We found the beds to be too high. A king bed doesn’t need king pillows. Most were too large and thick so not the most restful sleep. The hotel does offer smaller and feather pillows. This hotel shouldn’t go for look but comfort and you won’t have to have extras. It may have been our room but both the side chairs and toilet were lower than the standard height. I think it had a recent Reno but you missed the mark. The hotel is overall very clean. Great location. We were there for a wedding, I must say it was beautiful. The venue, food and staff were excellent. I would recommend!!

Place was honestly kind of shabby for what I was expecting mold in the bathroom, dusty shades and just worn room. My wife and I agreed the place felt shabby. Also reception told us "breakfast is available" during the times but then when we got it later specified we'd have to be charged. Honestly these aren't normal deal breaker things at a hotel and would be fine at other places. However, when you hold yourself out as a four star luxury hotel I do expect better.

An excellent hotel located below The Citadel, with a superior attached restaurant Gio. Food was imaginative, as were the drinks, and the staff excellent. Our king room was well appointed, with plenty of room and two armchairs. We enjoyed the ala carte breakfast, happy hour, and dinner at Gio. The housekeeping staff were top notch too. Location is walkable to the waterfront, and a somewhat longer but pleasant walk to the terrific Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21. Parking in the basement of the hotel is fine for a smaller car. We had a Jetta and it was a little tight. Could be a somewhat challenging for a larger SUV, but the hotel also offers valet parking. Definitely a great stay, and one we would repeat on our next visit to this lovely city.

The bed was fantastic. The shower did not drain so that was annoying. It's an old hotel, overall nice but a bit pricey. Room was clean and staff was nice. Good breakfast.
