Very large hotel. The room was a standard size and had everything - the bed was comfortable. Our view looked out on Peace Park and the dome, which was a bit surreal. Lots of things to do the in the vicinity and very walkable - we only took the car out once to visit Miyajima island. Check out the Okonomiyaki, Hiroshima style - we went to a restaurant near the hotel called Nagataya - well worth the wait time. The Breakfast buffet was good - you could choose either Japanese style or more Western, or both! Plenty of choices. On the downside, we had a drink in the Sky Dining RIHGA TOP on the top floor and although the prices were standard for a large hotel (i.e. high), I do object to 15% service charges being put onto a bill without any prior notice and in a country that doesn't do tipping. We also looked at the restaurants in the hotel, and we didn't use them as we felt them expensive - there are loads of alternatives within easy distance. We were also charged 3000 Yen a day for parking which was too much. Due to this, we got the impression there were lots of little extras you could get stung for, so my advice is go for a room and breakfast and get everything else outside.

The hotel was clean. The cleaning service was fine, but we had to hang the service plate on the door every day; if we didn’t put it out, the room wasn’t cleaned. The swimming pool and fitness facilities were not free — they cost 4,000 yen. The breakfast buffet was okay, but it was almost the same every day. The location was good and very close to Hiroshima Castle, the Museum of Art, and the bus center, including the limousine bus to and from the airport.

Buffet and swimming pool let down the 1 night stay I found the buffet very disappointing at 8pm there was hardly any food and choices left. There was supposed to be hot food served 5 items brought to the table but odd choices like hot pineapples and sweet potatoes appeared and then roast beef which was ok didn’t see others. Bread was also stale, salad was ok - should have been 50 items didn’t see that many. Think it wasn’t a good buffet Property looks a little tired now also, location is great though also nice view from cocktail bar What ruined the whole stay for me was the situation with swimming pool (happy to pay the extra fee to swim) however you had to pay additional and stay checked into the room as swimming pool was for checked in guest only- so essentially pay for late check out when we were NO longer using the room or wanted it. We wanted to swim for an hour or so But would have to pay approx 30,000 yen. (we had two rooms). Check out strict at 12, pool only opens at 11am. If someone had mentioned it earlier then maybe we would not have waited to swim after checking put.. it was odd and disappointing for my kids who were looking forward to a light day after a lot of sightseeing

While the property is 30 years old, it retains its focus on guest service. Plenty of amenities, including spa, pool, health club. Included if on club floor. Also a convenience store and wonderful service. Rooftop restaurant and other restaurants. Breakfast was included for me. I feel it was an excellent value. The location can’t be better. Walkable to Peace Memorial Museum and Atomic Bomb Dome.

Spacious room but dated with a stale smell. Promised pool and facilities were closed and unavailable the days we stayed. We were not notified of this and were annoyed given this was one of the reasons we chose this place. Breakfast was tasty but the same both days and a little on the small side.

Hotel room was a bit dated and had not been deep cleaned in a long time - there was a thick layer of dust underneath the furniture that gave the room a weird smell even though it was a non-smoking room. Furniture was old and well used but functional. Breakfast options were plentiful. Staff was super accommodating. Washer and dryer were convenient but we had to air dry clothes even after adjusting the dryer load size. Views of the city from our room were breathtaking. Location is convenient if you're visiting the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Would definitely consider going back if rooms were updated/tefreshed.

部屋に絵が飾ってあるのですが水平が保たれていないのとそれにほこりがついているのが気になりました後、ベットの隙間にボールペンが落ちたままになっており部屋の掃除をしているのか少し不安になりました。全体定期に古い建物であるのはわかるのですが掃除が見える所だけしているような感じを受けました。

Great location, with views to Hiroshima Castle from the room I had and a metro station within 2 mins walk of the property. Helpful staff, always going above and beyond to help. Sky Restaurant has amazing views of the city on 33rd floor. Only thing I would say the rooms are a little dated, but no complaints and all works as it should.

The room was large enough, however when we booked we could only get a room with 2 single beds, even though we are a couple. Although, I have given mostly 3 stars this is due to the bathroom being very dated, the hand towel was under the bench which kept falling off on the floor. The shower over the bath was hard to get in and out of, but thankfully they had a hand rail to stop you from falling over. With cleaning, the beds are not made - not expecting new sheets, just tidied and this didn’t happen. The hotel was very close to the attractions we wanted to see, which was the reason for booking the room.

Beds were way too firm. It was like sleeping on a sheet of plywood. Pillows were also hard and flat. Other than that, the room and hotel were very nice. Easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and historical sites.

We arrived 1 1/2 hours before check in time. Our room was ready and they asked for $100 extra to let us into our room, which we declined.. it’s not the money, it’s the principle. Similarly, I asked for room temperature water at the the bar - the Barman said he has to charge extra! I mean, what could be easier than room temperature still water! That’s what I call squeezing fat out of a fly.. on the positive side, location and breakfast buffet were very good.

The location of this hotel is great. There is a bar on the top floor where you can see a great view of the city. They won´t check you in before 3 o´clock, but they take care of your lauggage so you can visit the city. The man at the front desk was very unpolite telling us 3 times the check out time (11 am). He never answer a question about the restaurant of the hotel. Staff, in general, was not friendly. Hotel too big, slow elevator. Didn´t use the facilities.

We stayed at the RIHGA Royal Hotel in Hiroshima and were lucky to have a superior room on the 27th floor. The view was absolutely fabulous! The room itself was very large and spacious, but unfortunately quite outdated and really in need of refurbishment. It had that “tired” look and a bit of an odd odour that takes away from what could otherwise be a wonderful space. We dined at one of the hotel’s restaurants, which had a limited menu, but the food we ordered was very tasty and well presented. The highlight of our stay was definitely the staff, everyone we encountered was excellent. We had an issue with the room we were first given, but it was handled swiftly and professionally. Overall, a comfortable stay with great service and views, but the rooms could really use an update.

The RIHGA is located in the center of Hiroshima with easy walking access to the Peace Park and the castle. An easy 10 minute cab ride from the Shinkansen. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The front desk and concierge service were both very helpful. I would highly recommend the RIHGA. If your budget allows, get a room on one of the higher floors. The view is spectacular. If you’ve never been to Hiroshima, make sure you try the okonkmiyaki, you won’t regret it.

This hotel has 6 restaurants in the property and very convenient to subway train and bus station. The breakfast buffet is available on a 1st floor restaurant and a 6th Fl restaurant. Even though majority of the food selection are similar, I would recommend to go to 1st floor one that it has a bit more food and drink selections and more comfortable seating. Because of that, 1st floor is also a lot more crowded that might be a line to enter. Overall the breakfast buffet food is so-so, i would not recommend if you have to pay for it. On the other hand, we also tried the Chambord restaurant on 33rd floor. The food was excellent and has a great night view of the area. The facilities is dated. Also, there is a big hospital across from the hotel, we often hear ambulance sirens.

Nice and extremely large hotel. Check is not open until 3 PM, so don't even try. Rooms were fine. The problem was the breakfast buffet. The line was extremely long (20 minutes) to get in, but once we got there there were many tables empty. In addition the lay-out of the food is poorly organized and the condition of the floor was poor - areas of ripped carpet. For a high end hotel this was rather disappointing. In addition the service was average - below the level of service typical in Japan.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel. We were on a high floor with an amazing view of Hiroshima Castle. The room was quite comfortable and the breakfast was incredible. This was also well situated, within walking distance to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, Hiroshima Castle, and Hiroshima Museum of Art. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

The breakfast was good, and I was happy that even though I went late, there was enough of everything left. The fresh made pancakes were a delight, but I was disappointed that I could not make the topping machine work, and I would have liked to have a maple syrup option.

Old classic hotel in beautiful surroundings but its old and it shows. Back in the days people didnt bring phones, ipads and laptops so dont expect to find power sockets for your needs. Breakfast is superb but this hotel attracts big groups so its difficult to find a good time to eat breakfast without staying in a line for 20 minutes. Crowded. I was lucky to have a room with view over the old castle and lake. Very beautiful and only few minutes from historical events like the atomic bomb museum etc
