Hotel confirmed coeliac disease could be catered for via email but website failed to mention the restaurant wasn’t open during our midweek stay. Neither was this mentioned at check in. My daughter was having ankle surgery so unable to leave the hotel for two nights which is why we booked a hotel that catered for dietary requirements. The WiFi was also unreliable and two days stuck at the hotel being unable to connect streaming to the tv was also a pain. Had I known we couldn’t eat at the hotel I wouldn’t have booked it. On checkout and asking for the complaints procedure reception went for the manager. The manager said sorry and that was it. No offer of partial refund or reduced future stay. Just sorry. They were unaware their website didn’t advise that the restaurant was only open from Thursdays. Unacceptable for a city centre hotel not to provide a restaurant service.

Wouldn’t hold bags before check in, staff on reception told me they would come get me when room was ready but they clearly didn’t intend to and left me waiting until I chased.

We stay in Liverpool quite regularly, this was the first time staying at this hotel. First thing to note is they have no provision for bag storage so if you arrive early the only option they can give you is to direct you to a shop over the road and pay £5 for the privilege. The hotel is nicely presented and the room was ok although I did ask for a nice room as we were celebrating my husband’s birthday and they put us in a disabled room ! We had a decent nights sleep considering it is close to clubs & bars. Nothing to note is if you need a disabled room then I wouldn’t rely on them coming to your aid if needed as I accidentally pulled the chord in the bathroom whilst reaching for a towel, I wasn’t sure how to stop the alarm but thought I would explain when someone came to investigate. After a while I decided to call reception who obviously weren’t aware the alarm had been activated and was told to just pull the chord again and it should stop, it didn’t. Upon entering the dining area we were informed they had an issue with the kitchen which meant they could only offer bacon, sausage & scrambled egg. We initially said that would be fine until we actually seen the offerings which were all undercooked & cold ! When we complained that the breakfast was totally unacceptable we were told that their chef hadn’t turned up for work ! If this was the case they should have offered a part refund so a breakfast could be purchased elsewhere for their guests

Came just for couple days away for husband birthday. Ideal location and carpark discount a bonus. Room was good but think need new mattress as felt bit lumpy. It didn’t affect my stay. Room was clean but personally I thought colours a bit dark. Staff was lovely and polite

We were extremely frustrated when we were told that our luggage could not be held at the hotel. We had to pay to keep our luggage in a nearby store until check in. We then had to pay extra to have a later checkout due to our luggage again because we had tours that would not be completed until 11:30am. This hotel was the most expensive place we stayed within a 3 week vacation and honestly, was the most disappointing in terms of customer service. We will not be recommending this hotel to friends.

On arrival we tried to book dinner and was told it was not required,we came down at 5pm and was told it would be a 20 minute wait for a table,by 6pm we were still waiting my wife approached a member of staff to be informed that the kitchen was backed up ,later we were informed at 7pm that we could not be served as a chef had walked out.the breakfast was of a poor quality and not very warm and the plates were cold.On Monday night my wife went to the ladies toilet and found the toilets in a terrible state and reported the same to reception.Our bedroom was excellent would have benefited from have a seating area for resting and watching the Television

I stayed for two nights in late October. I had requested a room on a lower floor but was given one on the top floor. The (only) elevator was “Out of order” for the duration of our stay. Each day I was informed that it was going to be repaired tomorrow. It wasn’t. There were approximately 90 stairs to our bedroom. There was no heating working in the room. There was a vent stuck open in one of the windows with a constant breeze coming in. I used two cushions to block it. The TV in the room was faulty. On the positive side, the breakfast was excellent and the staff very friendly.

there was no cooked breakfast for two mornings after paying and the bar was restricted hours to have a drink and no evening meals

The hotel is in a great location, walking distance from the NCP car park which comes with a discount voucher from the hotel. Near to all the tourist attractions, I've stayed here 3 times but had a refurbished room this time couldn't fault it. All the staff housekeeping etc excellent.

The property was very nice very clean and great location. The side street outside was absolutely filthy with rubbish . We stayed friday night and Saturday night . Saturday morning breakfast had a lovely buffet for juice coffee toast & cereal. Sunday morning didnt. the staff member when asked said ah i will do everything fresh . But got the opinion he was just lazy to set it up. Saturday night had a private function in the bar area which was very very strange as all the comfortable seating area was blocked off . Bedroom was lovely and warm but bed was tiny . . Overall i was happy enough but to be honest dont know if i would return

First room wasnt up to much had some dampness in the corner but girl on reception was lovely and sorted another room for us which was great had a lovely stay and the breakfast was amazing. Shame we could only stay the 2 days in the end. Will definitely be back

Room was lovely but mattress was cheap and would benefit from replacing. Excellent spot to stay with lots of cool bars only a short walk away. Breakfast was also lovely. Lift could do with cleaning and there is a funny smell in the stairway too. Staff were friendly and welcoming

Excellent service from all the staff ,room was spotless,plenty of stuff to have cuppa the biscuits was a nice touch not many hotels supply biscuit,nice having iron & board in room a special thanks to Evie on reception she is bubbly ,friendly &helpfull

My partner and I have just returned from a two night stay at this hotel. Please read on and do not book here. We arrived in the city earlier than our check-in and thought we'd at least go and leave our luggage if check in was not possible. There was no facility to do this and check in was not till 1500. When we did return we were checked in quickly by friendly staff to a second floor that was being renovated. The room was almost entirely painted shiny dark purple. There were cobwebs and stains on the ceiling, holes in the walls and no shower curtain in the bathroom (not a modern wet room) and the radiator could not be switched on so it was certainly fresh in the room. The first morning we were awoken just after 0800 to the sound of drilling that sounded like workmen were about to break through the wall to join us. Sawing and general renovation racket continued till we gave up on sleep and got ready. The following morning was a Saturday and we were glad that the contractor only do a 5 day week. However it was the day for the bins to get filled in the alley below our window so sleep was impossible again. This Hotel should have given notice of possible ongoing work or closed.

Room was spotless and very comfortable .

Modern bar and restaurant and the breakfast had a good selection with the cooked breakfasts on offer cooked fresh and excellent. However the hotel bedroom booked was called a Superior Double but superior it was not. Yes it had the amenities listed on the hotel website but it was small, had very basic furniture with no fridge or safe but worse was the bed that you could both hear and feel the springs when you sat on it. Two very uncomfortable nights spent on a bed that was uncomfortable with basic bed linen. The Quilt was literally a cover. The room was at the front of the hotel and so noisy we might as well have slept on the street. I know the hotel can’t help that as a busy road but double glaze the top sash window not just the bottom one and provide guests and maybe leave guests ear plugs - supposedly to be superior after all. Visit Liverpool a lot and have stayed in far better hotels in the same area. Would not stay again due to the disappointment of the room generally and basic bed.

We booked a luxury room online but was given a standard room at checkin… The standard room was not acceptable ..poor condition and tiny .. no way we could have stayed in it..when we brought it to the attention of reception they did change our room to the original one we booked…hotel rooms are under renovation and rooms on floor 3 are the ones that have been renovated at this stage…these rooms are really nice, spacious and very comfortable…. Hotel bar is really nice and all staff we met were really friendly and helpful..location is excellent..right in the middle of everything the city has to offer…

Excellent stylish hotel and great customer service 👍 amazing food and drinks in the restaurant! The only gripe I would have is the quality of the matress, left a lot to be desired... would return if mattresses were upgraded to be more comfortable

OK and nice hotel. Generally nice and clean everywhere. Nice bar and dining area. Very friendly staff. We did have a few minuses, for example the temperature in the room was relatively low and we couldn't turn on the heating. The TV could be turned on, but no channels worked. Was it our own fault? Maybe, but we are pretty experienced hotel guests, so it's hard to believe that we did anything wrong. Finally, there was a leaking water supply under the sink, and therefore there was water on the bathroom floor.

Did a job as a bed to sleep but bed was very very soft as if was 10 years older and the window was single glazed so could hear everything outside as if window was open. Bathroom very dated.

Lovely looking hotel, room a bit small and dark but great value. Don't expect peace and quiet as it's city centre. Very friendly staff and a decent enough breakfast, though could do with more veggie/vegan options.

Room temperature was warm. Having a fan saved the day. Room was clean and comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was a little low. But we needed Air Conditioning.

Could be doing with double glazing, the street was very noisy

Service wasn't great. Waited 10 minutes on reception for someone to turn up at check in. Person who checked us in seemed pretty clueless throughout our stay including giving us an invalid parking discount card.

This is probably the best 3 star hotel i have ever stayed in! The lication was grwat. 8 minutes from the train station, 5 minutes from the town centre, 14 minutes from the museums and Albert Dock. ( we are early 60s so dontvwalk quickly). The hotel bar and redeption are wel, decorated andvthe staff very accomodating. There was a lift to all floors so it doesn't matter which floor you are on. It is on a main bus route and busy road but the noise is minimal ( we stayed Wednesday and Thursday nights). There was no noise after 11pm. We booked bed and breakfast, the food was very good. A fantastic selection of pastries, muffins, cereal, fruit and yoghurt alongside the full English breakfast. All of the items we tried were cooked to perfection and good quality. All food was topped up regularly and staff were attentive. We would definitely stay again.

Our booking was for my family — my mum, dad, and two daughters. When we arrived, we were told the lift wasn’t working but were assured it might be fixed later that day or the next. Unfortunately, my mum has mobility issues and couldn’t manage the stairs to the first-floor room we were allocated, so my dad had to take her back home. On the morning of checkout, my dad spoke with the “manager” to ask whether any reimbursement could be offered for my mum being unable to stay for two nights due to the lift being out of order. The manager’s response was simply that it was “out of their control.” From her body language and attitude, it was clear she wasn’t particularly interested in addressing the issue. I’d suggest that, in future, if the lift is not working, the hotel should inform guests in advance — especially those who may have mobility needs — so alternative arrangements can be made. As for the stay itself, the breakfast was quite basic with limited options for my daughters, and the rooms were just average. Overall, it wasn’t a great experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to others.

Great helpful staff. Lovely superior twin room. Very clean. Fan requested was already in place. Delicious fresh hot breakfast. Wouldn't hesitate to rebook. Stayed for 2 nights. Highly reccomend! Every single member of staff went out of their way to help and answer any questions. We had a fab time. Thank You!

Really pleased I picked the Sir Thomas Hotel for many reasons,the location was spot on for all we wanted from our trip. The room was a good size, nicely decorated and had everything to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with a great choice and all the staff helpful. Wish I would have booked another night and enjoyed the food and bar at the hotel.

Shocking customer service skills at breakfast didnt tell us availability of breakfast. Food luke warm. Had to ask 3 times for replaced hot water and oramge juice and glasses. Sausages hardlys cooked. Staff on phone while waiting for breakfast items flicking their hair about. Advised manager who was unprofessional too. Asled for eggs benedict received and was terrible semt back so didnt gmvharge extra £4 for this.

Had three nights in the Sir Thomas Hotel, and had a great time from start to finish. Mia, Callum and Andrew, were very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us..The Thursday steak offer was great value, and breakfast was good. We will definitely return here.

The staff were often not available, and at times not eager to help. Breakfast on here says from 7 :00 but it's actually from 7:30, which wasn't ideal for my morning. The room was clean and nicely kept, and breakfast was delicious, the service however, disappoint me somewhat

The location to the sites and sounds of Liverpool was one of the many great things about our short stay here. The room was so comfortable and felt like a home instead of a hotel room. Proximity to the tourist spots in Liverpool made this the right place to stay !!

Ideal location for site seeing. Very noisy at night though. Parking was more expensive than expected. Good breakfast

Beautiful hotel and bar area. Good sized room with plenty of places for suitcases. Nice hanging closet and drawers as well as a desk area. Easy to walk to dining and attractions - great location! About 8 minutes from train and bus station.

The hotel itself was good, however it was very hot in the room even though there was no heating on, no air-con and you could only open the window a few inches. However, the biggest problem was the noise from surrounding night clubs, the beat went on until the small hours of the morning, also sounds of people, traffic all night through. Wouldn't recommend if you want a peaceful nights' sleep.

Friendly staff, breakfast was lovely, central to everything sightseeing in Liverpool which was great - you can walk nearly everywhere if you have the legs for it. Only downside to the stay was the noise of the traffic through the windows, could do with getting double or triple glazing to block out some of the noise. Overall though a great hotel for a few days away

Breakfast let the hotel down. First morning no eggs, hash browns or mushrooms. 3 Days the plates were dirty or very wet. Croissants under cooked & raw in the middle. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly & helpful. Room spacious & clean. Needed a towel rail in bathroom.

Clean comfortable room, breakfast was fab

Breakfast over 50 minutes wait only 6 off us in the dinning area .i had to request more orange juice .tea .bread breakfast came .ate hot and hash browns rest was cold .bedroom clean .no blind on bathroom window which you can see from the outside silhouette of ppl .extractor fan not working.cant put make up on seating on chair as not higher enough. Only one chair in room for 2 guests .key catd had to be redone 3 times .on checkout staff not even said hope you had a nice stay .ignored .

We enjoyed our stay - hotel was lovely. However breakfast wasn't very organised. We had to ask for some of the items - bread, butter, cutlery, water. The staff didnt seem to be checking that items were always replenished. One of the days the food was cold - the flames had gone out on burners. Trying to get coffee out of the jug took forever - it was like a workout having to press the button multiple times. The breakfast is the only area that needs improved.

When we booked 2 rooms superior rooms, the rooms did not correspond to the superior rooms as detailed in the hotel photos. We also vhose the hotel as it stated breakfast. For the first two mornings the only option for breakfast was toast and jam, cereal or yoghurt tea and coffee. There was no hot choice as we were told there were a maintenance problem on the first morning, and would be resolved for the remaining stay of our 3 nights booking.The following mornings breakfast was the same as the first. Having asked what the maintenance issue was, it was difficult to get to the bottom of the problem. But eventually a staff member let it slip that the chef had not turned up for work for our first two mornings. On our last morning we finally had a choice of a cooked breakfast. I did ask a member of staff of any compensation but was told a definite no. Which I found it not acceptable as the hotel were advertising an full English breakfast for £12. Rather disappointed with the response and that the hotel gave us.I could not unstandand why another member of the kitchen staff that could take over in cooking breakfast. Spoilt our stay.
