The shuttle service was awful. Waited on curb at MAD pickup point for 40 minutes. The bus was 10 minutes late and then we sat for another 10 minutes. The driver was very unfriendly and not the least bit helpful. He drove so fast that bags were flying all over the stowage area hitting the door. He never made an announcement on where next stop was. When we reached Alameda Hotel, everyone got off thinking it was the Barajas Hotel. 1/2 had to rebound because they weren’t staying there. He made no mention of which hotel we were at. He needs to find a different job !

Muy buena opción si tienes un vuelo temprano , el cuarto estaba perfecto , los pasillos huelen a pipi parece que era un hotel viejo antes . Pudimos hacer check in una hora antes lo cual estuvo muy bien y lo mejor es que tienen shuttle de ida y venida al las terminales y funciona perfecto . Me volvería a quedar ahí sin duda

This is one of the Madrid hotels conveniently located closest to Madrid Barrajas Airport. The hotel has a shuttle to take you directly to the different airport terminals. So, it is a good hotel if you gave to fly out of Madrid early. Room and bathroom was clean and bed was comfy. The good breakfast had many options for breads, pastries, meats, cheeses, eggs, and fruits.

Es una gran estafa la oferta de traslado desde el aeropuerto. Llegamos al hotel despues de esperar por mas de 50 minutos el shuttle que ofrece el hotel , en la terminal 2. Finalmente mientras esperábamos con mas huéspedes, pasó el shuttle , se lo veía semivacio y no paró, continuó su marcha sin detenerse. Debimos tomar un taxi, 22 euros para llegar al hotel donde al hacer el reclamo, me pidieron que le muestre el video y el recibo del taxi y se comunicaron a solicitud mía con el manager de experiencia al cliente, SEBASTIAN DUBAYLE que le.manifestó al recepcionista de front desk desde, que no podria atender el reclamo. Tampoco me ofrecieron ningun tipo de disculpas. Patetico

We missed our flight due to an airport security employees strike in the Barajas airport. We bought swimsuits to enjoy the hotel’s pool just to find out (after checking in) that the pool was closed. On a sunny day with 89 degrees out. The front desk said the pool was closed for the winter…. In the middle of September with a hot weather wave in Europe. !!??

We stayed at the Melia Barajas for 1 night to be close to the airport. The property provided free shuttle service from terminal 2. The property featured a big pool (and a small children’s pool) which were wonderful for cooling off during the heat wave. We ate at the poolside restaurant for lunch which was so well decorated and a lively vibe. There’s another nice restaurant (or 2) on site but we didn’t eat there. We did opt for the breakfast buffet in the morning and that was fantastic! Omelette made to order, fresh fruits, meats, cheeses, cereals, pastries, waffles, pancakes, they had it all and it was a great way to fill up before heading to the airport. There was also a McDonals directly next door (a plus for those with picky children). Overall, you cannot go wrong with this property for a short stay. There is also on site parking for those with more extensive plans.

The room was not spotless…. There were some hair in the bathtub The check in was very slow and we arrived in the shuttle with some people with vouchers for a missing flight…. Room was clean and the air conditioning worked very well. The hotel is nicely updated and the restaurant was fantastic. We did not hear any planes overhead despite being less than ten minutes' drive from the airport. Staff were courteous upon our arrival and helped us schedule the airport shuttle for early next morning. There are several restaurants well within walking distance as well which are all highly rated. We would highly recommend the Melià Barajas to anyone looking for a beautiful hotel close to the Madrid Barajas airport!

The room was big and pretty nice. The breakfast was excellent. The shuttle service right on time. But the check in was horrible which takes our rating down by at least one star. We arrived at 1am and it took 60 minutes to check in (we had our 10 year old son with us). There were probably 10-12 rooms in line ahead of us, two persons checking in and each room took abt 10 minutes to check in. The slowest check in I have ever experienced on my extensive travels through the years.

Yes staff was courteous, room adequate, good heating system. I wish that I hadn’t ordered a room service meal. Having been a guest at this hotel several times I was expecting a nice meal, what I got was not so nice. A cold soup and a beef carrillera topped with a mushroom concoction with that was not edible topped with a burned piece of foie. Next time I’ll not order. Waited for the shuttle at the same spot that I had in the past however apparently now they stop at a different spot, in front of Exit 12, not at the Hotel Bus Stop that has the hotel name listed there. Right in front of exit 14 at the Barajas airport Terminal 4. After waiting for over one hour and having called the hotel twice I ended having to call a Taxi.

This property was near the airport with the free shuttle. Note you have to book a time on the shuttle as it was packed. The staff was lovely and English-speaking as well. It's in a walkable area, very safe and quiet. I was able to get an upgraded room and early check in. I enjoyed the room, it had a large bathtub that i enjoyed using!

The hotel had everything that I could have possibly needed after two weeks of walking the Camino de Santiago, to feel refreshed before my long travel day back to the United States. The food both in the bar and at breakfast was plentiful, varied and delicious. I hadn't realized how hungry I was! The pool area and bar was an added bonus. One reason I chose this hotel was the free airport shuttle. The only thing missing was a hairdryer in the bathroom! If I ever I need an overnight near the Madrid airport, I will definitely choose to stay at the Melia Madrid Barajas.

Great restaurant, lovely pool and really helpful reception staff providing assistance on shuttle buses, airline check-ins and general information. Just a 10 minute ride to the airport. Nice bedrooms but the only downside is that noise insulation between the rooms is poor and we could clearly hear conversations in the next room. Perhaps installing some acoustic panelling might improve that.
