The room was really nice with a lovely view of the golf course - A mob of kangaroos came to visit every evening which was a nice surprise The restaurant was basic and not really for us, but we did find a good Italian a few minutes drive away The breakfast had a good selection and was delicious I may have missed the fine print, but I didn’t realise the pool and gym was not included - it is a seperate business and is charged at a daily rate which I was not expecting

Whilst a little out of the way ...(!) this is a lovely hotel, the staff were very helpful & it is totally self-contained (bar/bistro etc). We had both room service & ate in the bistro & the inclusion of breakfast was a nice touch.

Nice and very clean rooms. Breakfast was nice with lots of cooked, continental and cold options. However the lunch and dinner (being the same) was for us below average. Looks great but lacking in taste. When trying room service from our room one day we could t get through and had to walk to restaurant to be able to order. Also no pool.

Lovely 2 day stay . Marred by the fact that the chic restaurant was not open so had a bistro type meal. Surroundings and hotel itself were very peaceful and did the trick to revive the body. Golf course in site was quality for good players.

Magnificently unique property that never fails to please. The staff are wonderful. The property is beautiful. We did arrive to find no towels or bathroom amenities in our room which was dissapointing and then had to go to reception to get them rather than them being brought up. The shower in our room is quite small despite there being room for it to be larger. Dinner at Bella restaurant is highly recommended. Shout out to the staff on the night we went who made the night so enjoyable.

The lodge is good. Has a good dining area and breakfast area. Good for a night getaway. Rooms carpets wete dirty but again the grass access must have lead to the carpets being muddy. Overall good and clean . Beds were good and clean. No issues with bathroom.

Location is nice with plenty of kangaroos and two nice golf courses. Room is in good condition but what is provided is a bit sparse. Only amenities provided are in the shower and nothing in the main bathroom. The breakfast was very basic and was not replenished quickly enough. Hotel has the feel of a conference facility.

Problem with room was no reading light above beds. Existing lighting too low to read. Aircon goes off at night unless key in slot and then bright hall light stays on to prevent sleep...room becomes stuffy if aircon off. No minibar in room forcing guests to go out or order room service. Otherwise a quiet and restful stay.

Beautiful place to stay Right on the golf course Unfortunately, having to check in a 2nd time due to error with cards Looking forward to a bath, only to find the hot water was not great. Would have taken hours to fill the bath And no apology either! We will have maintenance look at that was the response. Disappointing

From the wonderful staff at the front desk. Rooms are sportless and comfortable beds. Service in the bistro area and dinning room is outstanding staff are friendly and helpful. You have a great choice from the menu in the bistro and the food is always great.

Beautiful location, room was very nice and clean. I would suggest you avoid the food it is over priced and very average, breakfast buffet is below standard for a supposed 5 star hotel food and selection very poor. Not sure if a chef cooks this food or if it is a first year apprentice. Reception staff and staff at the breakfast buffet also do not reflect the standard you expect in a 5 star hotel. Meal at the bar was good but again massively overpriced for the quality. Bar was also very cold and not a place where you can chill on a cold evening. Staff need training in what a 5 star hotel is supposed to deliver in regards to customer service. Better value and service within the actual heart of the Yarra Valley would highly recommend that you look else where if you are planning on visiting this region. Overall beautiful hotel that is staffed by poorly trained staff with poor over priced food selections.

Lack of staff at reception for check-in. I checked in and being asked to obtain a credit card, when I am getting in, someone come to ask to solve a problem. I have been waiting patiently for few mins but not solved yet. And I drive the car out to wander around the site for another 20 mins and return. The staff is still talking to that person to solve the problem. I don’t want to be rude but I spent more than enough time in waiting for someone to cut me out and finish the check in finally at 8pm. The restaurant around closed at 9pm. I bring my kids and finally can’t go anywhere for dinner. The staff compensate for a garden view room and complimentary drinks but it is night time, any view did not create any difference and I didn’t use the drink coupon as well because we are busy to settle down with kids.

Rooms as stated by photos. Clean and tidy. Breakfast amazing, a little empty though. Check in disappointed when a staff member leaves reception while your still waiting. Not even an acknowledgement, to say why they did not check me in. On departure was excellent until i was charged agian for the room i had paid for months ago. Refunded almost straight away but left me in limbo till it showed in my bank .No communication on that it had been done, originally told maybe 1 or 2 days. Overall good experience. But very expensive.

Check in was excellent, bar staff and food excellent a big tick for Barman Rory who was very helpful friendly a credit to the hotel. Only negative at the lodge bar food was ordered and came out in record time and was excellent (great) but staff made patrons get their own utensils which I’d very odd for a 5 Star hotel. Shower in the room terrible no adjustment ability and was weak, no hand towel one flannel between to of us. No toiletries at the bath to use and what there was at the sink was 1 soap hardly a 5 Star experience although we still do like the hotel but it has gone down in our estimation over a few years now. Not enough staff on at breakfast either

Vintage hotel stay in lap of the yarra valley which is surrounded by a beautiful golf course. The food at lodge bar is average. We tried the churros with chocolate sauce but the chocolate sauce was watered down Hershey's sauce. They are not offering a service of the room for stays less than 2 or 3 nights which is a pity and a let down. There didn't seem to be any housekeeping service as well. For refill of toiletries as well as a simple request for towels, the housekeeping line is automatically redirected to reception and they ask the guests to self serve at the reception. Luckily we ran into the housekeeping staff the following morning in the hallway and asked if they could service our room, they were kind enough to do it. The staff is very courteous but the management should look into the service issue. Regardless, the location is fantastic and worth the stay. The breakfast was decent with a score of 6.5/10.

The setting for the hotel on the golf course is absolutely beautiful. The lobby is very classy. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. My only gripes are lack of staff for dining areas (I’m sure covid related), and room service doesn’t start until 12pm.

First time visit to this establishment and not sure what to expect. What we got was a great hotel located amongst beautfifully landscape gardens and adjoining golf course. A pleasant surprise was the nature trails along the Yarra River and its wetlands. And in all the years we have travelled we never experienced such friendly staff. An excellent buffet breakfast was cream on the cake.

This was our first time visiting Yarra Valley Lodge and we were pleasantly surprised. The Garden View Family room was perfect for us (2 adults, 2 kids) They were very prompt to ask if we wanted a cot set up prior to arrival, which they did with no fuss. There were ample towels & blankets. We had lunch at the Lodge Bar which was ok. We booked into the Bella Restaurant on the Saturday night which was a set menu. We opted to have the wine pairings with it. The meal was fabulous, probably a bit too much food. All in all, it was a lovely stay and we would likely stay there again.
