Guests shouldn’t have to pay for off street parking No cutlery in room to stir tea or coffee with

Cracked bathroom basin, leaking shower, split system noisy and full of dust, no sauna, dirty pool, builders everywhere as being renovated so lots of noise, limited parking due to building materials in parking spaces, no sauna even though it was advertised. Very disappointing stay.

Currently undergoing renovation. It is an old property that is run down and in need of maintenance. A lot of rubbish around the common areas and construction noise during the day.

It was ok pool was great. But this place is undergoing extensive renovations . So no dinning options no breakfast ect.. No bar.

This hotel is one to give a big miss too New owners and staff need to clean the place up and organise themselves. the whole place is dirty, aircons don't work, amenities are scarce ie 1 wine glass 1 mug no tea except green tea. lights left on all day. furniture in actual pool from one visit to the next. cigarette butts everywhere.

The property is in major renovation, noise started 730am and on Saturday and sunday morning The renovation was in room 220, I was room 218 so next door room Drilling etc very very noisy I reported this but hotel said because I booked thru Wotif then no partial refund!! So now I know when booking thru Wotif I don’t get normal service

In the process of renovation and re painting while we were there but the price reflected this. Amazing location with trams right out front and safe parking.

Located in nice area Royal Parade Melbourne. Only 100 meter from tram stop no 19, Ievers St. Nearby place is Melbourne Zoo and Univ of Melbourne. Opposite of Carlton Footie Club. Nice park at the opposite as well. Gym facilities not like in the photo

All staff were really friendly and welcoming. On site parking ($20) was a bonus.

Spilt coffee stains on the tiles, several random hairs in the bed and shower. Even found toe nails in my daughters bed. No shower door, window above door wouldn't close, which also had no screen on it. No reply from the hotel, despite emailing photos. The desk staff are lovely, no issues with them. But definitely would not recommend.

Our room smelt like cigarettes, had a cigarette burn in the curtain, drains were blocked and not clean, toilet didn’t flush properly, floors not clean, blood on the small shower head, slap dash Reno job, everything was a little bit broken/not working properly. Some guy was yelling outside of my room quite aggressively at someone? I’m assuming on the phone? Bedding was clean and bed was comfortable. $20 parking. Wouldn’t recommend

room was unhygienic, there was a cockroach in the bathroom, marks on the bed sheet, the fridge wasnt cleaned out.

We had stayed here before and the previous stay was great. Unfortunately this time was disappointing. We arrived to our room to find it had a very overwhelming cigarette smell and cigarette burns through out the carpet. I brought this up to reception and they changed us to another room. The second room was better than the first but still had a lot of faults. There was black mould in the bathroom. There were stains on the walls. The door had been removed from the shower so the entire bathroom got wet when using the shower. The smoke alarm was hanging from the roof and would beep every 3 or 4 minutes. I had staff cone snd look at this, the reattached it to the ceiling and put a battery in it to make it work. Unfortunately now it would go off randomly every few hours until i pressed the reset button. So it would wake us a few times each night. The entire motel was being renovated. There was no mention of this when we booked the room but there was posters up throughout the motel explaining this. We weren't prepared for the powertool and excavation noises every day from 9am to 5pm. The room did not look like the photos. I assume the photos were ove the renovated rooms and we were in a room that was tet to be updated. Location was great and i would stay here again but not until the renovations were completed. I have photos of the defects in the room, like the mould etc but the app ADD A PHOTO button is not working so i can't add them.

The hotel was in the middle of renovations but that doesn’t excuse the building materials lying around in the way, the filthy toilet in the foyer or the dirty bathroom in our room (which was recently renovated). Will never stay here again.

So much rubbish everywhere, many broken and neglected amenities. A general laziness in regards to cleanliness and maintenance - poolside chair cushions left at the bottom of the pool, bathroom sink not clean, BBQ dirty, cigarette burn on the toilet seat, holes in wall where a picture once hung over the bed. The staff were friendly and helpful, though largely out of sight. I stayed in this accommodation some years ago when it was a vibe hotel and its descent into disrepair and neglect is remarkable.

The room was reasonably clean, and the reception staff were courteous but not exceptionally friendly compared to other hotels of similar standing. I wasn't offered the WiFi password until late in the evening, after the reception closed. Most hotels would have this disclosed on arrival and written somewhere in the room or the door key The room provisions are minimal—limited supply of coffee, tea, and milk capsules. The shower head is very high, but there is no shower cap, so a shampoo with every shower is unavoidable, but there was no hair dryer in the room. I had to go to the reception to get one. The chair is very uncomfortable with a low back and well below the working bench. The sofa is slightly better with two pillows as a cushion. There was no hand or face towel. Overall, the room is spacious, with good lighting, and the bed is comfortable. The location is good my purpose of this business trip.

Room was very spacious, clean and well appointed. Air conditioning was not simple to control and after we turned it off we realised that it was the surrounding a/c units that were very loud all through the night

Curtains in the bedroom were not properly installed so the sunlight came in unabated. street/parking lot facing room had no barrier from outside noise. Staff didn't seem knowledgable about the facility and the night staff was especially rude when asking if there was any drinkable water on the premises. vending machine was out of order and not stocked. Otherwise, bed was comfortable and the checkout process was smooth.

The hotel has a great location, just a short walk from the tram, which made getting around very convenient. The beds were standard and generally okay for a short stay. However, I was quite disappointed with several aspects of the experience. The room looked noticeably different from the photos online, especially the toilet and shower area. The space had a smell of cigarette smoke upon arrival, which made it more unpleasant when the rooms are specifically non-smoking. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was because the listing mentioned soundproof rooms, but unfortunately, this was not the case. I could clearly hear noise from outside and from the room above us. The guests upstairs were particularly loud, walking around heavily well into the early hours of Monday morning, which made it very difficult to sleep. I understand the behavior of other guests is not within the hotel's control, but if the rooms are not truly soundproof, it might be best to adjust that claim in the description to set more accurate expectations. There were also a few maintenance issues: the ventilation fan in the toilet made a loud creaking noise, and the beds were not secured or locked in place, which made them move around easily. Overall, I was really looking forward to a relaxing stay, but I left feeling more tired than refreshed. I hope this feedback helps to improve future guest experiences.

Had to change rooms after being placed in a room that seemed unfinished, unclean, had 1 working powerpoint working, fridge that didn't have power, shower with mould and no door. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and the room we moved into was much better.

We booked a Premium room, but we believe that, whilst it was one of the recently refurbished rooms, its location, directly opposite the very busy Royal Parade, was pretty unbearable. We kept thinking there was a window open with vehicle noise and people, but it was just poor seals and single glazing. Very difficult to sleep in these front rooms. Go for the rear of the property!

The lady on reception was so welcoming, and helpful when I asked about public transport. The room was modern and spacious. Parking is easy.

Soundproofing was not great. Property was old and in need of a refurbishment. WiFi was slow.

Was not informed that we needed to book housekeeping to make up our room. There was no information in the room even though we were advised there should be. I understand the property is still in a state of change but this is pretty basic stuff. Property owner should also take a good look at their contractors as they appear to be cutting corners on some of the renovations.

I guess that's what you can get at budget prices...

Very helpful staff

The check-in process was inpersonal, my door key didn't work so I had to have someone open my room door each time. There was no cutlery provided in the room, which meant I couldn't eat any food. No glasses either, just a single cup.

Staff very friendly. Fridge not working and heater not working. A small heater was Provided.

They were doing some repair/renovation work during our stay which made the place look less attractive, but over all, a pleasant stay with helpful and accommodating staff.

That was Sunday early morning, 2am some started very loud party music in hotel/apartment but management did not took any action. People were talking loudly in corridor, zero discipline and zero management action on this situation. This ruined my sleep and made me upset. Bathrooms are old and small but clean. Location is excellent. I would not like to stay there again.

The bedroom was in fine condition, the bathroom was not. I didn't say anything on the first night, opting to tell the staff in the morning. When I did, the lady on the front desk said they would attend to it that day. I arrived back late that night to find it still in the same condition. I immediately told the concierge downstairs and he said there was nothing he could do so he said he'd put it in the notes for my room and I would need to deal with it the next morning. I spoke to the lady in the morning and she was not aware of said notes and said that the cleaners have said they had addressed the bathroom. Only when I showed her a photo of the urine stain left on the toilet seat did she listen to me. To not have the bathroom properly cleaned for my entire stay is both not acceptable and very concerning. When I asked for some sort of compensation, I was offered $20. I don't know what I'm meant to do with that, the bathroom was unhygienic. The staff were polite enough, but I shouldn't need a photo to be believable, nor should I need to chase something like this up.

Staff were lovely. Rooms were clean and fresh, Gentle sound of the trams rolling by helped me sleep. Easy to get a tram to groove Brunswick street. Same to get to the city which is only a few blocks away.

When you rely on pictures of a Hotel and then arrive and it is nothing like it is posted. The pool area does not look this nice, it is run down and messy. There is no breakfast as it looks like in the Bio and not all rooms look as nice as the ones posted. It was clean and the beds very comfortable, however the pillows could do with a change, very flat and no spares. Overall it could be a fantastic place if maintained better.

We chose the hotel because they had a pool, but when we arrived the pool was closed, full of algae and dirty. We had planned to spend our jet-lagged days by the pool, but were very disappointed instead. The breakfast was not included in the price, but it was only disclosed at check-out. And it was definitely not worth the price. Very tacky selection.

Our stay was for 5nights, walking into the foyer which was modern neat and tidy, staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was on the second floor on an outside balcony overlooking the pool, this part of the hotels exterior still held its 1960’s charm. All looked good until we got into our room, we were hit with the smell of stale cigarette. This room was nothing like the pictures on the website, the bathroom is old with mould & rust on the bathtub, toilet brush was rusty, needed to be thrown out. The fridge constantly leaked water which we had to keep cleaning up. No room service unless you requested it, staff were more than willing to fulfil any requests. There was duck poo around the pool which was not cleaned up for days. The tables and chairs around the pool needed a good wipe down. The place needs a daily clean up. Being a gold member of hotels.com I actually expected to get maybe one of the upgraded rooms at the front of the hotel. On a positive note, the beds were comfortable, there was a kettle with coffee & tea provided, the hotel is close to tram stops, across the road is a lovely park for walking. There’s a restaurant on the ground floor which we thoroughly enjoyed, l highly recommend. I was glad I was able to use their guest laundry which was handy as staying five nights. If you’re staying here request one of the upgraded rooms.

Didn't like the shower over the bath. Made it difficult for my son who has hip problems. When ringing restaurant for room service, conversations in the background were extremely loud. Made it very difficult to hear. When we asked for cutlery we were eventually supplied chopsticks and a teaspoon. Not what we were actually wanting.

The only problem we had was that yes the restaurant was open for breakfast but it didn’t have food appropriate for breakfast. Everything else was fantastic! Comfy beds, clean bathroom and toilet. Plenty of towels and the pool area was very nice. The staff were helpful and having a vending machine option for late at night was great too..

The room was relatively neat and tidy. However it did not have a microwave despite saying it would on the website, I couldn’t access any apps on the TV, and the shower head fell off the wall when I tried lifting it. I called reception (who again didn’t answer) and left a message to this effect, however did not get a call back. I repeatedly called the restaurant to order room service but no one answered and had to ask reception to call them. Luckily I was checking out the following day as I would definitely want another room with amenities that I paid for.

A beautiful hotel with amazing food and the most kindest staff. The pool was in a great location and so was the hotel. Many activities. The only thing I would suggest is putting fly screens on the windows, updating the aircon and maintain the pool a little more. The food was so good but I didn’t receive a lot for the amount I paid. I overall enjoyed my time. Thank you
