Fairmont Cottage

Nice little cabin in a beautiful setting. Cows at the fence and bird chorus to welcome you. Very handy to Berry and Kiama. Good dog proof yard so you can relax while enjoying the vista.

We had a peaceful time at Mountain Cottage Fairmont. The house was simple and accurately described. It was a perfect set up for a dog with a fenced grass area for playing. We were free to wander in the paddocks with an eye on keeping my dog away from the cows and horses. There were a few critters both inside and outside of the house (leeches and spiders), however that was to be expected with the location. A short drive to Berry and Seven Mile Beach kept ammenities close.

The little cottage was perfect for us and our two standard poodles. It was clean, comfortable and had the most beautiful views. The yard was secure and our dogs were very safe. They were able to be inside with us as if we were at home. The hosts were lovely and very helpful, even making a restaurant booking that was dog friendly for us. Their lovely Belted Galloway cattle were a beautiful sight to wake up to as they grazed near the cottage. There is no phone coverage if you are not with Telstra, so you need to be aware of that, but for us it was an opportunity to switch off, and coverage was available 100 metres down the road so could be accessed if needed. The township of Berry is close by and has many lovely opportunities to grab a coffee and enjoy some fresh air. Heartily recommend as a relaxing getaway.

Amazing little cottage with a fenced in yard an absolute treat for a getaway and relaxing escape. As the owners have mentioned no cellular reception unless on Telstra. Short drive into berry and into kangaroo valley, both us and our dog had the best time!

A comfortable base in a pretty setting. A good place to start exploring this lovely area. The rainforest, village and coast are a shortish distance away.. We could not get the BBQ going 😫 unfortunately. Bring your own coffee. Comfy bed. A good 👍 holiday . Thanks

We really enjoyed our weekend away. The yard is so well fenced it lets you relax the minute you arrive. There’s plenty to explore on the farm and lots to do locally. Highly recommend.

So rare to find a fenced dog friendly property in a beautiful location! Was a great location to easily explore kangaroo valley and Berry. The accommodation is nice and comfortable. Only suggestion would be to update the appliances- the oven didn’t work. But otherwise great spot and would stay again!

We had a great few days at Mountain Cottage Fairmont. Great location, only few minutes to Drawing Room Rocks. The cottage has a very homey feeling, we were warm and cozy and had one of the best bbq dinner in the garden. Thanks Alison & Alistair!!

We were very happy there, enjoying a much needed break. The place is as advertised clean and cosy and the location perfect. Our vehicle broke down while we were there and the owners Alison and Alister were extremely helpful offering assistance as required and transport to and from the repair garage in Berry.. Looking forward to our next visit, we expect later this year.

Absolutely loved Alison and Alistair’s property! Being able to wonder around the land was magical and waking up to the cows at the fence was such a treat! Our cavoodle loved it as well! Close to Berry for groceries, cafes and shopping it was a great location. Comfy bed and good bathroom/kitchen. We hope to back again soon!

Clean, warm and inviting cottage on a farm. But only 10 minutes to Berry or the Motorway . Alison and Alistair are lovely hosts. The cottage has most everything you need including a booklet of pet friendly places to visit. But if something comes up they haven't anticipated, they are easy to contact and help when needed.

My daughter and I stayed, with her dog Hugo. We had a wonderful time. The accommodation was excellent! The bed was extremely comfortable, and the cottage was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. We spent more time than expected just hanging around the cottage, going for walks, patting the pony, wombat spotting at night, and just soaking up the serenity. The area around Berry is beautiful. We were there for 4 days and spent time at Berry markets, Kangaroo Valley, Seven Mile Beach, Culnurra Beach and the lighthouse walk, and many other gorgeous places. I highly recommend Fairmont Cottage.

We had a lovely short getaway at the cottage. Beautiful fresh air and peace and quiet. We received great communication from Alison and assistance when we noticed on google maps that local roads were closed. Alison was able to reassure us that roads were open and only closed to trucks. We were also provided with early check-in. We were greeted by Alastair, who showed us to our accommodation. Alastair also provided us with some useful information about the property, the animals on site and also about their 2 dogs. It was helpful to be made aware of the possibility of leeches and we did encounter these as we had a heavy amount of rain. Inside the cottage was lovely and cosy. Everything was clean and tidy, kitchen and bathroom were well stocked. Towels were lovely and soft, shower had good pressure and heat. Loved the Gas stove. We had good nights sleep in the bed. We had no issues with bringing our own linen, just don't forget to pack it up with you before you go home! The BBQ could do with replacing as it wasn't in the best condition. Lovely to wander around the farm, get up close with the horses and see the cows. Some beautiful birds landing in the yard and heard in the distance. The cottage was so peaceful, so quiet and with no phone reception (Vodafone) and internet, a great opportunity to really relax, cuddle up with a good book and explore the local area. Berry isn't fair, which has IGA for some groceries and lots of cafes. Also a short drive to Shoalhaven heads beach which is dog friendly. The cottage is completely fenced in, which was great for our dog. The cows and horses come right up to the fence, which was really exciting for our dog! Thankyou for having us, we enjoyed our stay.

Property is well maintained and even though our stay was short, had everything you needed to stay longer. After copping a bit of traffic on the way down, it was nice to walk in and feel instantly comfortable and relaxed. Communication was great, everything was as it was communicated and when we did have a question, Alison got back to us promptly. Thank you so much, it was a great couple of nights.

An opportunity to relax and really enjoy the scenery and location within a wonderful area. The property has plenty to explore , even though the weather during our stay hindered this quite a bit, but we did bump into the “resident “ wombat down near the rear of the paddock and this was a highlight. Whilst the cottage doesn’t have old world charm, or ultra modern amenities that some places may have, it was very enjoyable and comfortable during our stay and both hosts were very inviting and gave us all the lowdown on what to do during our stay.

We spent 4 days in the cottage at Fairmont and loved it. Comfy bed, comfy couch and the tranquility was to die for. We had two dogs in tow and loved that we were able to leave them in a safe secure yard watching the very friendly cows and horses grazing nearby. Alison and Alistair were lovely hosts, great for a chat and very responsive to all our queries. We will definitely be back.

Just lovely! Quiet, remote, gorgeous bedding. Slept a dream!

Comfortable cottage set in beautiful surroundings,cattle as neighbours and gorgeous white pony with only the sounds of silence or nature. Great place to slow down, relax and forget about the rest of the world, and our dogs were also welcome.

Really enjoyed our stay, and felt welcomed as soon as we arrived to the warm and cosy cottage. It was only a short drive into Berry, and the location was very quiet and peaceful. Looking forward to coming back!

The cottage was lovely, on a beautiful property. The views were spectacular. The cottage included many amenities, even a French press and coffee grinds (much to my delight). Do note that the owners house is fairly close to the cottage though. Would recommend, will probably return sometime in the future.

I recently stayed at Fairmont Cottage in Woodhill, NSW, and it was an unforgettable experience. The cottage was charming and cozy, nestled among lush green pastures with friendly cows grazing nearby. One of my favorite moments was lying under the clear night sky, stargazing—it was truly magical. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to ensure I had a comfortable stay. I felt right at home and can't wait to return. Highly recommend this gem!

Another wonderfully relaxing stay with nothing to do except listen to the birds. Berry and Kangaroo Valley are both close enough to pop in for coffee or a browse in the shops. Then lovely to return to the tranquility of the cottage. Alison and Alistair were the perfect hosts and the cows were welcome visitors too!

I cannot quite put the words together of how incredible my stay was and with the organisation from Alison. She assisted me before and throughout the stay. I honestly cannot recommend any higher this property. I actually cannot wait to go back and stay again. My Golden Shepherd really loved it too. Do not hesitate to book this property. Trust me 😀

A very comfortable cottage in a lovely quiet rural location.

Absolute cracker, short scenic drive from Berry, well presented and great sense of splendid isolation without the trek. Visit from the cattle was a charming start to the morning and the sound of the creek and forest at night the perfect lullaby with the odd Mooo thrown in.

Great hosts. Also enjoyed the company of the wombats and cows. Dramatic mountain scenery with mists swirling through the forest. Great place for dog walks (except drawing room rocks which is in a dog free zone). Would be happy to return. Telstra signal was reliable.
