Wonderful stay at the Novotel. Staff were friendly, buffet breakfast was awesome, pool was nice and it was in a great location. Parking got a bit crowded on Saturday evening and difficult to find a park in the surfers mall car park, frustrating when you’ve paid $25 per day and had to drive around for 30+ minutes to find a park to get up to your room. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I will be staying at the Novotel again.

Only 2/5 working lifts during peak holiday weekend (Easter) for a 36 floor hotel packed with guests is poor effort. Try“preventative maintenance”? Would’ve been a great relaxing weekend away otherwise. Do better next time yeah?

The property and facilities are run down. The pool is in need of a good clean and upgrade with broken concrete and dirty tiles. At least 1 lift was always out of order which was frustrating during peak times. Rooms were cleaned daily however floors were never vacuumed during our stay so there was always sand under your feet which inevitably made it into your bed sheets!! Would also be handy if the hotel supplied some sort of clothes line/portable drying rack to dry swimmers etc. On the upside, the gym facilities were quite good and the breakfast was excellent (although you had to wait a long time to get your omelette as there was only 1 chef cooking them).

A lot of construction going on around main entrance. Great location handy to all amenities especially the trams/taxis/buses. Unfortunately the lifts are not very reliable, they were either being maintained or not working. Had to wait for 20 minutes one day, not ideal. Really nice polite staff

The hotel is an amazing part of surfers paradise, with all ammeneties at your doorstep, the downside is the hotel room itself. It looks clean but when you look closer the rlbedding is absolutely disgusting. Matress and matress protector had yello stains and for some reason there was a towel placed under the matress protector. The pillows were also yellow and discoloured. After we alerted the staff of this they then brought in all new pillows and a new matress even from another room i am assuming. Better to pay more money and stay somewhere where u know the cleanliness standard is high

Reception checked me in late. I missed the event I flew down for. Reception staff were rude. My sink didnt drain at all. My pillow had lipstick and a boot mark on it, sheets had hair in them. Worst $900 I've ever spent.

Stayed in ocean view superior room. Did think it was on the small side. Beds were comfortable however really should upgrade to queens instead of doubles. Bathroom was small and not a great shower head. Should have just done shower cubicle not shower over bath for more room to change comfortably. Fantastic view. Great location easy walk to Cavill mall and all the convenience of that area. Does come with a level of noise from that location. Breakfast buffet was great. Would stay again for such a great location.

The ocean view is nice. The location is extremely convenient, and the room was clean and good enough as a simple place to stay. However, the facility is quite old. The windows didn’t close properly, so I could hear music from outside all night long. I booked two rooms, and both had the same issue. Since there are many clubs nearby, it’s better to know that in advance.

Which hotel doesn’t accept Apple Pay in 2025!? I got asked to pay a deposit at check-in even with the stay fully paid. I was happy to do so but I didn’t have a physical credit card with me. I only had Apple Pay which staff said they didn’t take “per hotel policy”. They asked me to withdraw cash as alternative. Again, not easy if I don’t carry bank card as we live in a (almost) cashless society. So, they said this would be the only way for me to check-in. Here I was with only my 5 year old daughter without a hotel to stay. Even worse, it was my daughter’s birthday. The staff lack empathy and said there was nothing he could do. I left and managed to transfer money to a kind person at the supermarket who agreed to withdraw the cash for me so I could check in at the hotel. Terrible experience! I would expect better from Novotel part of Accor Group.

Firstly prior to my check-in, I received communication stating that the parking fee would be $20. However, upon my arrival, I was charged $25 instead. When I inquired about the difference, I was informed that the parking fee had been increased some time ago and that the previous rate was no longer applicable. While I understand that pricing adjustments are sometimes necessary, I believe it is important for guests to be provided with the most up-to-date and accurate information prior to their arrival. Receiving outdated information not only causes confusion but also affects the overall guest experience. Secondly, regarding my room reservation, I had requested a room with a bathtub. I fully understand that such requests are subject to availability and cannot always be guaranteed. However, during check-in, I specifically asked the front desk staff whether my room included a bathtub and was assured that it did. Unfortunately, upon entering the room, I found that there was no bathtub. This discrepancy between the information provided at check-in and the actual room amenities was quite disappointing.

Very slow check in and very hard to find a car park. Lifts were slow and place very noisy. Room was nice and spacious and shower great. Breakfast was packed and food very average. Great location. Housekeeping didn’t show up till after 4pm.

There is a discrepancy in parking pricing. I received an email from Novotel Reservation stating the parking fee was $20 then the hotel charged me $22. I asked the reservation, a girl said the duty manager would call me but then no one called. They probably think $2 is not much but the way they handled questions and complaints like this is unprofessional and not up to standard of Accor I guess. Disappointed.

Stayed 2 nights and probably one of the most disorganised hotel I’ve come across. Phone didn’t work to call reception the first night to request a blanket. Was told they would come fix the phone the next day which was perfectly fine. Second day/night house keeping had been and they took all our towels and never replaced them with fresh ones so we had nothing for the second night, tried calling reception again and phone still didn’t work. So my poor daughter who just had a shower had no towel, they also took our second key card which is very concerning. Went to reception to request more towels and explain the key card situation and not even an apology just okay well kinda not our problem situation…. Overall location is good for Surfers, but they really need to pick up their act. Don’t recommend

Firstly we have stayed at many novotel around the world and cannot fault the room conditon or the staff. The issue was the hotel itself, its situated directly above a nightclub. Despite being on the 18th floor (out of 30), our room vibrated with the consistent duff duff and accompanying annoying DJ until 3 am each morning. Now having been an avid party goer in my youth this would have been an ideal hotel if it was club 18-30. Issue being with two young children and purpose of trip to visit theme parks, it was completely ruined by the fact we were shattered due to lack of sleep (maybe 5 hours max a night for three nights). On top of this, being on the 18th floor of 30 meant we spent considerable time waiting for the list to exit the building every time, the lifts held 8-10 person yet everytime they got down to us they were full. Sometimes we had to wait 5 or 6 times to get room in a lift, we even considered using the stairs but couldn't access them. If you are in the GC with a family, much better hotels out there.

With three bars in close vicinity you may as well go out Thursday to Saturday night as the noise is loud until 2.30am, shame as this is all that spoiled our stay, we've been visiting the Novotel but will give it a miss for the next Surfers holiday

Very centrally located. So loud at night because of the nightclubs. So loud in the rooms, couldn’t sleep. Bits of the hotel were a bit dated. Breakfast buffet was pretty good. Staff generally nice. Parking is at a cost of $25 a night.

This hotel is right of Surfer's paradise. We had had a deluxe room wrh ocean view and was in good clean refreshed order. Buffet breakfast is definitely worth booking, lots to choose from. Easy transport tram, train etc to almost anywhere on gold coast. . BUT, we were on on 27th floor and the street noise at the weekend was insane!. Earplugs soon cut it out the next night!. We willvisit again, good value, great stay all roundinthe heart

Hotel staff are amazing, my VIP status was recognised and I was given a massive room upgrade. There were some issues with housekeeping where someone tried entering my room at 8am however the manager was amazing and took care of this issue. The only negative is that there’s a lot of renovations happening at the hotel and the spa area etc is out of action, also breakfast is very average for a Novotel, the “new” coffee machine is terrible. Otherwise the staff at the hotel were amazing and a special shoutout to Kay who always had a smile on her face at breakfast time.

the tables and chairs were dirty. tablets full of empty plates, cups, etc and no one cleaning them. You have to look for staff as you could not see anyone around. Limited selection, also the room were crowded.

Finally a hotel with a soft luxurious bed! We stayed in a newly renovated king room and it was fabulous. Most hotels these days have hard mattresses and it’s a nightmare for my hips! I was so relieved when I laid on the bed and it was soft. The buffet breakfast was great too. A lovely weekend all round.

The room was significantly overpriced due to the Pacific Airshow weekend. Check‑in was painfully slow, and the hotel itself felt old and worn. The constant noise from the elevators could be heard in the room day and night. The one redeeming feature was the excellent location.

Not the best of Novotel’s I have stayed with. Old ceiling and dirty walls, dusty phone set, sockets badly positioned & not cleaned uncomfortable mattress and dirty with hair on it. Bad torn furniture armchair, broken curtains . Basic breakfast nothing special, you can find better local options . Only positive is close to beach that’s why not bother to update the property Disappointed this time
