A really nice, colonial style, property. Staff were lovely. For a small hotel, there were several dining options. Food and cocktails were good. It very convenient for Borobodour, yet quiet and peaceful with nice grounds.

We spent 4 nights at the Majapahit hotel and it was such a fantastic place to stay we found it hard to leave the hotel and explore Surabaya! The room was great (very spacious and well maintained given they are in a historical building). The grounds are stunning. The lobby has a fantastic cocktail bar and the high tea was excellent.

Hotel Majapahit transforms you back to a different era with it's exquisite decor and history. If you are in Surabaya you must stay at Hotel Majapahit. It has all the amenities required and is in a great location. On top of that the staff are the most attentive I have experienced anywhere in the world. I would rate higher if possible.

First and foremost, the staff's exceptional service, always willing to go the extra mile to help you out, and friendliness of everyone is truly special and heart warming. I love their extensive and amazing breakfast, try the Soto, and learn about the Indonesian sambals and the desserts. Also in the evening, you can enjoy a delicious dinner here: the Sop buntut, Rawon, and Gulai lamb will send you to seventh heaven. They know I miss their homemade sambal Edan very much. I hope to see you all very soon again, and I treasure the lovely memories of you.

Rooms needs really to be renovated. Dirty walls and carpet. The bathroom sink had a crack in the middle. Smell of humidity and yellowed hupholstery in the bathroom It is a pity since the hotel it a piece of history and it has beautiful inside gardens.

The room was not properly maintained. I am hugely disappointed with the state of the room. The furniture are still in good condition but not properly cleaned .The bathroom is dirty-marble walls and edges have moulds. The housekeeping was poor-no vacuum and no mopping the floor throughout my stay. Only changed the towels and top up water bottles ,not even replace the cups and saucer I am still in shock thinking of the quality of the room. A disgrace to Sarkies collection of hotels.

The hotel is very close to a upscale shopping mall in Surabaya. You can all kinds of luxury goods and food in the mall. It also has awesome colonial architecture and lighting at night. I had problem with the mosquitoes which are everywhere and in the room, so bring some repellent if you attract mosquitoes.

No other hotel like this. Take the opportunity to live in this historical building with amazing decor. Not only are you going to travel in time but you will also feel at home with the amazing staff who are the kindest peoole you could ever meet. The food too was amazing if ever feeling too lazy to find anything on Tunjungan street, but having that street just outside made the balance between Surabaya city bustle and the oasis at Majapahit perfect. Having stayed there for 3 weeks I wouldn’t ever say no to stay as long or longer again! Anyone should treat this as a must-visit for any trip. Thank you for the experience.
