Hotel Rose Garden Shinjuku

We stayed 3 nights. Family of 4. Room was small for 4 ppl but we expected that. Space was clean, modern (with USB outlets) and had extra supplies to make our stay comfortable like slippers, toothbrushes, etc. Staff were friendly and responded timely to pre-arrival questions. There is an inexpensive Airport Bus transportation that drops and picks up very close to hotel. Location was very good with 2 metro stations within walking distance. Shinjuku entertainment district was very close and easy to walk to. Only negative was they only had 2 washing machines for the entire hotel so plan to wait to wash and dry clothes.

Everything was excellent but the washer and dryer took a very long time. Our clothes were still wet after two dryer cycles. Otherwise everything was excellent!

This hotel is near the Nish-shinjuku Station. It’s easy for my family to take the public transit to our destinations oaround Tokyo. The front desk staff are friendly and answered my questions. However, they need to update the coin laundry machines. There were a total of 3 machines - 1 washer, 1 dryer, and 1 combo washer & dryer. There was always people waiting to do their laundry, which made it inconvenient for many of us.

The staff was very helpful and efficient. Amenities were plentiful and useful. The hotel was well situated to see the sights and explore. Highly recommend!

Pros: hotel is close to subway lines, daily breakfast (extra charge but small charge), clean, daily towels, pajamas and water left at door even if you choose not to have the staff clean) Ask for an upgrade when you arrive - it was only an additional $105 USD for 5 nights (they must do this a lot as they had photos of the rooms available for upgrade) This room was significantly bigger. The staff is helpful. No concerns with the staff - as expected. Cons: rooms are small - think European size rooms, the rooms have this feeling. The rooms have carpet in the main building that is old. I ended up with a terrible allergy exacerbation after the first 2 nights worsening when I was in the room requiring treatment. We stayed the full 5 nights since moving hotels was not an option for us. I would suspect that there is mold throughout this older building, not certain if the annex building has this problem. Be aware if you have any allergies especially to mold. The hotel would be improved if they would remove carpets and put down a hard surface floor, repaint and a thorough HVAC cleaning. The hotel is good, but would suggest staying nearing Tokyo station to be more centrally located. Tokyo is huge. We spent 25-50mins on trains moving around the city from this hotel most days. This is not really a problem for this hotel, but something to consider when deciding on a hotel.

Booked this hotel because it's close to a train station...about a block. It's an older hotel but the room is nice and well-appointed. Bathroom is spacious and fixtures are new. The staff is English-speaking, friendly and helpful. We did not choose the breakfast option but there are convenience stores all around.

The hotel was walking distance from the JR lines and local lines. Very busy area and quite a distance from airports. Could not check in until 1pm - rooms not ready earlier. Renovations were taking place and we did not have use of the washing machines. Fresh towels and water left at the door when the Do not Disturb sign showing. They supplied toothbrushes and face cleaning products. Staff were good.

Check in & out procedures were fast, easy & high tech, especially express key drop box which I’ve never seen in any hotels in the world…as a international flight crew. It was family trip & everything was convenient. Microwave oven in each floor was excellent idea for those travelers like us even though short over night. Thanks for kindness to front desk staffs, also airport shuttle arranged by APA. 👍

酒店在西新宿出口旁邊，很方便，行去新宿歌舞伎町8分鐘左右。酒店靜中帶旺，行兩分鐘有aeon超市，周圍都有食店。房間舒適，床好舒服，早餐ok,職員樂於助人。 注意：洗衣機只有兩部，營業時間06：00-23：00，過了23：00洗衣房會鎖上，拿不到衣服。

The staff were all excellent and helpful, but the washer and dryer did not work properly. Breakfast was excellent. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED

We booked this hotel same day while we were at the airport and we were very pleased with our experience! The rooms were clean and organized and the staff was very friendly. I would stay here again!

本人與10歲兒子於2023年1月20日至29日入住。check in 已經是晚上8點幾。房間非常之多塵埃，無論是地氈，擺放茶杯櫃電視櫃，總之你講得出嘅地方都係明顯肉眼可睇到的塵埃。衣櫃內亦都布滿塵埃。浴簾有異味，甚至看見人體毛髮。 因為已經是晚上唯有自己用紙巾清潔。地上一舊舊的塵埃情況向酒店第二天早上反映。在入住九天的期間有三天，清潔員沒有更換毛巾及,好給飲用水。地點雖然方便，價錢亦都不高但絕對不會考慮入住。香港人一般喜歡旅遊我也是，但是從未入住過如此污糟的酒店。

Right across from a major hospital. Sirens and ambulances and announcements blaring from megaphones all night. The pictures make the room seem bigger than they actually are. I originally booked the twin room non-smoking. The room was a closet that smelled of smoke. No room to put luggage anywhere. Unlivable. We had to pay to upgrade as I have claustrophobia and my sister has asthma. New room was a good size for 2 people, but it was the room for 4 people (murphy bed can be removed to make room). I pointed out mold spots in the bathroom. Staff acknowledged the issue, but they were not fixed. Some dust found. Other than that, clean. The TV in the room is not a smart TV, its cable with 11 channels. The breakfast was decent and the hotel is close to nishi-shinjuku entrance, conbini, and a few restaurants.

Hotel was very convenient to the metro and dining. Room and bathroom were good sized. Daily cleaning service. Some of the bedding was stained and a lot of it was yellowed. Hallways looked a bit dated. Found trash from previous guests on floor under the nightstand that was never cleaned , even after we arrived.

Excellent hotel! Super clean. Great staff. Wonderful room and so much bigger than we imagined. Big bathroom. Endless amenities. Fast wifi. Perfect!

Não tinha a opção de colocar o ar condicionado em uma temperatura ambiente. Só tinha o aquecedor funcionando (por mais que tenhamos ido no período do inverno) deveria ter a opção de escolhermos a temperatura do ambiente. De madrugada aquecia demais e acordávamos suados. O quarto é muito pequeno, menor do que a maioria dos hotéis que ficamos no Japão.

A little outdated, lots of tourists stay here. Rooms are quiet however our double bed room situated on 3F the window that was fully shut there was a cold draft entering the room from outside. The evening temps got to the low 30’s & 20’s Fahrenheit. Even closing the double curtains the cold draft would be noticeable. I had the front desk come up and check it out and there was nothing they could do - not even a complimentary breakfast for our stay or anything to appease this situation (not expecting it but I noticed many hotels in Japan are very accommodating) this was disappointing from this establishment.

The rooms were too small for two adults, no place to put luggage, it was noisy from other guest staying at the hotel in the morning and at night and night time noise from the street traffic.

Very kind and helpful staff. Answered all of our questions when asked. English available. Close to everything: station, 7-11, Family Mart, Shinjuku area. Highly recommend. Small rooms as to be expected in Japan but enough space even with 2 travellers having two luggage’s.

Staff was very nice and helpful. One lady at the front desk helped get us a taxi for a cheaper rate (to the bullet train) than we would have gotten had we tried calling for one ourselves.

The hotel was overall quite pleasant. They offered many free amenities, including an espresso machine in the lobby! The room was very cozy, but comfortable. They provide you with fresh towels daily, which was nice. The only downside for us during this stay was the staff interaction upon check-in. We reserved the "Corner Deluxe Twin Room" which states on the website that the room fits up to 4 people. When we arrived, the front desk agent said we weren\'t allowed to have 4 people, only 2. So he made us reserve another room, for almost double the price that we originally paid for the first room. We were quite disappointed, as this was our first stop during our trip to Tokyo. This was unfortunate, as the hotel itself was nice.

The staff at the hotel was great but the staff at the breakfast and lunch restaurant was awful. They required a reservation and when we made one for our last day they did not honor the reservation despite having empty tables.

Staff was excellent! Friendly, efficient and professional are all appropriate adjectives for the hotel staff.

Yes, the rooms are small but that is Japan. Exceptional service with a cosy outdoor covered patio and an absolutely delicious Japanese and western breakfast included with every stay. Metro station 100 m away. Walking distance to Shinjuku.

The location of this hotel is very good. It is very close to the subway stations and shopping centers. The front desk staffs are very friendly. The breakfast buffet is also very good. The room is clean, though the size is small compared to those in the U.S. It seems that that is the case for all other hotels in Tokyo as well, so probably cannot complain much.

This hotel is in a perfect location if you want to stay in Shinjuku. There's metro stop about 5 min. Away and about 25 min from Shinjuku station. Very convenient! The hotel amenities is really good. They have free items for the hotel guest if you forgot some necessities. The breakfast is an all American food and they also have Japanese options. It's really good by the way. The staff spoke English really well but please be patient with them as they can't respond really fast in English. So overall this hotel is top notch!

Fantastic location next to metro. Staff excellent, large rooms. Close to all the buzz in Shinjuku l. Will stay here again.

Hotel Rose Garden Shinjuku is a really great economic option for a stay in Tokyo, suitable for families. The location is off the mayhem of Shinjuku, but has great walking access to the local sights, trains (a 3-4 minutes to Red M and 10-15 minutes to Shinjuku proper) and solid local food and bar options for our family with two children 7 and 9 in the neighboring streets. The hotel has a good local vibe, very Japanese in terms of guests which we like. The room was super clean and small as expected. Excellent large bathrooms. The service functional and polite, decent English (not expected). The inclusive breakfast solid with Western and Japanese buffet options. My only issue and failure on awarding 5 stars was the pillows that were paper thin and gave me neck issues. I asked reception for an additional pillow and was told the hotel did not have any? I would come back for sure, but would bring my own pillow!

The location of this hotel is very good. It is very close to the subway stations and shopping centers. The front desk staffs are very friendly. The breakfast buffet is also very good. The room is clean, though the size is small compared to those in the U.S. It seems that that is the case for all other hotels in Tokyo as well, so probably cannot complain much.

Friendly staff. Decent breakfast buffet. Italian restaurant has good food for those wanting a break from Japanese food. Close to Shinjuku entertainment area and Tokyo Metropolitan Building which has great views of the city and Mt Fuji from the 45th floor observation deck and is surprisingly free!

Room is very small. The little round table takes up a lot of space. Great breakfast, about 1000 yen taxi from Shinjuku train station, 10 min ride . Ten minutes walk to the metropolitan government building which has free observatory.

This hotel was in an excellent location, a short walk from the station. It was clean and offered a lovely breakfast buffet with a wide choice of options. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. A wonderful place to stay in central Tokyo

The hotel room is very very small but all hotel rooms in Japan are small for the price. This hotel was fine the location was amazing for Shinjuku very easy to navigate the subway system from this hotel. However we purchased th le breakfast and this was probably the worst breakfast that I have ever had at a hotel. Sorry but not sorry the options were very limited, old bread and canned fruit. If anything stay at the hotel but skip the breakfast and go to the family mart located next door.
