Great location for visiting Wellington city – just a short walk into the CBD and short drive from the airport. Lots of dining options nearby and a supermarket across the road. Had a fantastic view from our top floor room and liked the openable windows for fresh air. Paid extra to use carpark out the back $20/night and was worth it (not really any street parking). The room was a generous size and a good bed. Amenities included tea & coffee, coffee cups, glasses/wine glasses, bar fridge and a kettle (note no utensils, plates, toaster or microwave). Wifi but doesn’t work for their TV (as was explained in their house manual). Staff were friendly and efficient. Has a restaurant on site. Would stay again.

Property is old and needs refurbishment, no aircon, it would be very hot in summer, bathroom very small, but loved the shower, my view was amazing, car parking was excellent, staff were very accomodating and willing to help, location is great, close to eateries, New World supermarket, and a short walk to oriental bay beach, and close to Te Papa and Conference centre, I would stay again because of room rate and location.

The wall heater in the room was noisy. One of the lifts was out of action. The buffet breakfast was not kept hot enough. Outside the main entrance to the foyer some asbestos was being removed from the overhanging roof. Location was fantastic. Views from the 9th floor room were great! Staff were friendly and attentive.

Really friendly and helpful woman at the counter. I wouldn't stay here again, though, because the room was pretty dirty with lots of stains on carpets/fabrics. I don't like it when walking on hotel carpet gets my socks brown and dirty but if you don't mind that kind of thing, it'd be a fine stay.

The style and decor in the lobby is really nice, staff accommodating and friendly. We asked for high floor, which we got - floor 11. What an awesome view! Room is pretty basic but comfortable and well stocked with coffee and tea. The one problem when you are high up is the wind. Wellington is extremely and the wind is loud. Great location - easy to walk everywhere from this hotel with lots of food and shopping options nearby. Room was clean and serviced daily. However, the walls are paper thin and you can hear conversations, TV etc clear as day - was a big downside to staying here.

People at reception were really nice and helpful. Room was okay overall. Coffee and teas. No milk. Good bathroom and very nice shower. Tv didn’t work, wouldn’t connect to internet. Heating is an old fashion radiator so a kind of all or nothing scenario. We had to open the windows to have a medium temperature. Bed was good enough. I did expect a little more for the price but i guess we paid for the view which was really great.

Overall was very happy with our stay especially the staff Only downside was tv advertised 42” was only 32” and only had 1 chair in the room when the layout shows 2 and don’t get a city side room the light coming in from the hotel was very bright and all night you could hear the traffic and no air conditioning didn’t help

Emergenct stop thanks to Air NZ cancelling the last flight of the day home. Perfectly situated for the stranded business traveller, not expensive and a good room (size, facilities and cleanliness) for my needs. New World opposite to buy the essential toothpaste and toothbrush at not-airport prices and only a few dollars uber back to the airport in the morning. Reception staff were wonderful.

The staff at this hotel were amazing! I greatly appreciated their work to get me checked in early after my 18+ hours of travel. The room was perfect and very clean. Definitely small compared to North American standards but was perfect for just me and my things! Super walkable area and lots of restaurant options. Being so close to the museum and grocery store were just what I needed for my half day in Wellington!

Excellent location just a short walk to Te Papa, multiple restaurants, TSB Arena, etc. We parked up then did everything else on foot. Staff were friendly. We were on the 5th floor and barely heard any street noise, which was a pleasant surprise. Our room was opposite the lifts though and we could hear people talking as they exited the lifts - fortunately no one was up in the middle of the night, but next time I’ll request a room further away.

Came to Wellington for The Food Show which is held at The Stadium the other end of town but this year wanted to stay in a different part of CBD. Bay Plaza Hotel was an easy walk from the Airport bus route and staff were welcoming and happy to store bags until room was ready. Room was spacious enough to be shared by 2 friends and the frequent buses made it easy to get around. Will happily stay again when visiting Wellington.

This is a perfect location if you wish to visit Te Papa and Wellington waterfront. Plus Courtenay Place and access to restaurants and cafes is right on the door step. Not 5 star but convenience makes up for it. Will definitely be back again and again.

Location is the only good thing. Rooms are dated, bathrooms even more so. The reception staff at check in were not wanting to be there and for the cost and advertising of hotel staff not very well presented. I'll start by saying that the staff were fantastic, all kind and courteous. The room was fine, just a typical room. However, the pretty basic food, especially breakfast, was fairly over priced. $30 for some eggs, meat, and toast. Then, we attempted to do laundry late in the evening, which required coins. We tried to exchange paper for coins and were told we had to walk to a shop down the road to do that. After doing that, we wash our laundry and flip it to the dryer. The dryer did nothing to dry the clothes, I changed the setting assuming ot was my own mistake. It was still wet after another 45 minute cycle. Now were $6 into just drying the clothes, which somehow came out even more wet after a 3rd attempt! To which the staff could do nothing and we were left with a bag of wet clothes at 230am. So, be prepared with coins and make sure you have extra time if the dryer is malfunctioning.

The hotel was very convenient for distance to the TSB arena where we were going. The hotel was easy to find, we don’t live in Wellington. Parking in the open car park out the back of the property was no problem. Staff were friendly, especially the lovely lady of Italian heritage who checked us in and later served us at the bar and dinner . Choices for dinner and breakfast were adequate. We would stay there again.

Actually I don't want to give them 5 stars....6 is better! The fish in the restaurant was everything fish should be - large, firm delicious flakes with tasty potatoes and salsa. Good wine match and good price. And well done for remembering that my wife does not take ice in her drink! She herself often forgets to say!
