The hotel has a lift directly down to Lambton Quay which makes it easy access to the city and waterfront. The hotel has a restaurant on site. The menu is very $$$ and main don’t come with anything you need to order a side. So if you order steak you get a steak that’s it. The side range around $10 but are very large could be shared between two or three. Parking is $30 at night at the hotel or $25 next door using the hotel code.

The parking is not convenient and we need to park next to public parking area with 25? Dollars per day. If you need to stay in the city then it is close to city and you can walk to everywhere in the CBD area.

It is a great location and an easy 2-minute walk into all the great shopping and restaurant district. Close to Ferry Terminal. Excellent cafe Oranga across the road for breakfast. The gym is too small, but the location makes it worth it.

Lift not working. We were not informed. I had mom with me who is 64yrs and we had to take stair down from level three. Property even doesn’t have a porter to assist. Despite stating that night dinning is available upon enquiring we were advise to use uber eats. Not a good experience for new year

I was a bit worried as I got a very good deal on the room rate- but the hotel was great. Close to Lambton Quay, modern spacious room, great onsite restaurant and staff were very professional and helpful. The lobby area is a little worn and dated and one of the lifts was broken, but it was fine for the price.

Old dated hotel! Did not look like a 4 star property that it claimed to be. No swimming pool, stained doors with dated rooms! Needs renovation desperately! The picture we saw showed floor to ceiling windows in the room but the room in reality looked nothing like the pictures they put in their advertisement. Very disappointed also felt like violated as the room did not look like the room we were expecting from the pictures

Hotel is a bit tired however that was the worst thing we could find. Wholesome breakfast buffet. Staff were exemplary. Epi in houskeeping provided epic service, no request too small and served up with broadest smile. 24 hr Room service did not dissapoint with the beef brisket burger a smashing hit. Access to Lambton Quay via the the lift in the restaurant is a bonus. Wellington Cable Car and a Woolworths literally steps away. Lift stop before ground leads to a Chemist Warehouse. Easy walking to the wharf, Te Papa and the Beehive.

Great location, very helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommended. Very good dining. The only downside was a lot of dust inside the trim including carpet. Being allergic I had to up medication as while I cleaned the dust on the furniture I could not do anything hung with the carpet.

This is a very drab and shabby hotel, and with not enough staff. Certainly not 4 stars by any stretch. The rooms are tired and not particularly clean (remote control was truly disgusting!). Would not stay here again.

Room was very disappointing on arrival.The beverages had not been stocked up properly so we had to order room service as soon as we arrived.Not very welcoming when you have been travelling all day being tired and in need of a cup of tea or glass of water. The bathroom had stray hairs over the tiles and gave an overall grubby appearance.These were still there despite the room being serviced on our second day. No one collected the breakfast card for in room dining despite putting the card outside our door the previous afternoon.This delayed our departure as we had to go down to the dining area to order breakfast. Couldn’t put valuables in the safe as told they were no longer functioning! Parking was an absolute nightmare! Staff were however friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Considering the room rate for this hotel, it does not give value for money. This was our second stay here and the level of customer service has certainly deteriorated since our last stay. Such a shame as we expected more.

Friendly and polite staff who checked us in quickly and efficiently. Really appreciated the gesture from the management as well to mark our celebration. Lovely comfortable spacious room with a beautiful view of the waterfront. The bed was very comfortable and the location is also very good. The restaurant is good for dinner however the breakfast needs improvement as it’s got a small variety and is the same every single day. Overall highly recommended.

Great location in the city. Happy hour was a joke, had to purchase our drinks elsewhere. Room was a good size and tidy for the price. Enjoyed the view of the bay and city from our room. Overall good value and location was a bonus.

Not a 4 star hotel. Air conditioning did not work well, room safe was not operational, bed was lumpy. Staff was helpful, breakfast good, and location is fine. It needs significant improvements to rate 4 stars. We have stayed at other Novotel hotels and have been satisfied - but not this time.

The heating system in room did not work. It continually blew cold air. I called reception and was told - we could not change rooms - the heating system would take a few hours to work - a portable fan heater was delivered to the room. It was very noisy and did not work very well.

TV reception / WiFi really poor. Not sure if it was a glitch over the weekend or not but the net effect was they were both unusable for the 2 night stay. First world issues....

Check in was okay - efficient but not so friendly. The room was very dated, from the old carpet to the tired looking bathroom. Bed was extremely soft, which unfortunately didn’t suit us well. The lifts are ancient and doesn’t require a scan of the room key, so anyone can enter. The positives - great location, walking distance to most points of interests. 10 to 15 minute walk to Te Papa, Cuba Street. Buffet breakfast was pretty good and had enough options one wouldn’t complain.
