Quality Inn Scottsboro US-72-Lake Guntersville Area

Parking was a disaster, lots of big work trucks, even a semi tractor trailer was in there. Hotel furniture outside some of the rooms as people were sitting outside using them. Nothing wrong with it but mostly blue collar worker staying there for clearly more than one or two nights at a time

This property was very clean! The bed was very comfortable, the staff was friendly and the pool was amazing!

I was not happy with our stay. The first room had bugs flying in it, the breakfast was very meager and not so good. There were no eggs and no milk for the cereal, There was also no variety from day to day with the breakfast. The pool was dirty and smelled awful and the breezeway by the washer and dryer smelled of cigarette smoke. We will not stay here again.

In town for a fishing tournament. Plenty of outdoor outlets to charge the boat. Parking is tight but manageable. And I think they had the cleanest and well maintained bathroom we have seen in quite some time traveling. We made it there earlier than check in and after calling ahead they gladly let us check in early so we could rest before heading to the lake.

You can tell that the property was recently renovated. The lighting and fixtures were very nice. We appreciated that there were cameras in the parking lot although not necessarily well-lit. The bed was VERY comfortable.

Great location, very convenient. Well kept hotel with newer bedding and furnishings. Older building , a little noisey but nicely organized rooms Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was well organized and kept tidy between guests

When we first checked in there was a slight issue with the comfort of our room. The young man at the front quickly changed our room and put us in a much more comfortable. The breakfast each morning was hot and well prepared. The pool was open till late , allowing people who couldn't handle the heat to still be able to enjoy it. The cleaning staff was extremely friendly and made sure we had extra clean towels , toilet paper and stuff of the like. I truly enjoyed my stay and have full intentions of coming back fory next weekend getaway.

Everything was good untill we pulled back the sheets to find yellow stains in both beds. I guess they were washed but they should not used stained sheets. Breakfast was good and hot. The only juice that was working was cranberry. They had several options to eat which was nice . Felt very safe . Well light outside at night. Pool area was very clean and was open . Staff was nice . I would stay there again.

I booked a non smoking room. Room 122 has definitely been smoked in A LOT. It was only one night or I would have moved.

Everything, but the bathroom was not cleaned well. When i went to take a shower the shower still had hair stuck on the walls. The window frame had something spilled and nrown colored dried on it like it was splashed on and left. The beds where nice and clean. Very firm. Had a nice refrigerator in the room, microwave, coffee pot and supplies as well as tv and desk to sit at. There was a note pad in room that had a cute hand written note saying " Enjoy your stay" which we found to be really nice. The breakfast was good and hot, with a nice choice of food and juice to choose from.

Lady at the front was nice. Firat room we were in smelled heavily like cigarette smoke. She placed us in another room that smelled fine, but the floor was filthy. Got around to getting a shower and the handle on the shower was broken completely off. She placed us in a third room, and there was a half smoked cigarrete on the desk. At this point we decided that we were going to skip the breakfast the next day because if the rooms were this big of a hassle, we could only imagine what the eggs would be like. Will never be back.

The room smelled of mold. There was mold in the shower. The towels were dingy and looked stained. The covers on the bed had stains. The chairs in the room had stains on them.

There was a pubic hair on the toilet when I entered the room. The room was supposed to be smoke free but clearly had been smoked in recently. The surroundings were very noisy. The door did not completely seal.

Decent, quiet and clean. I like the totally light blocking shades. It's an older inn and could use a bit of a face lift. But the bed was very comfortable. That's a plus 😁

Rooms are refurbished. All conveniences. Great choice for us and reasonably priced.

Upon check-in the room key would not open the door. Desk clerk checked it and said door mechanism defective and I was assigned a different room. After one successful try that key stopped working as well. Had both keys re-set and only one worked. Finally repacked all of my belongings and put them in car not knowing if I'd be able to access the room the following evening when I returned from a wedding.

My experience at this hotel was terrible. The room did not smell fresh at all, the TV quality was the worst I've ever seen, the usb ports did not work, the air conditioner did not work well at all, the breakfast was a joke, and even though i had a "do not disturb" sign on the door, someone knocked on my door hours before check-out time just to ask if we were staying another night.

Checking in was great , got to the second floor had to put the key card in several times to get in, once in there was garbage in the garbage can . Bed was very comfortable got up started taking a shower took about 10 minutes stood in water over my ankles because the water wasn’t draining .

Really a great stay. Room was updated and clean. Had a clean fresh smell. Safe area and quiet.

I booked online but forgot to mention my elderly in laws and needed a bottom floor. The front desk receptionist was so kind and found two rooms on the bottom floor next to each other. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good.

My partner and I booked a 4-night stay, but due to storm conditions, we arrived just after midnight for check-in. The experience that followed was unacceptable. Upon arrival, the night staff was asleep & seemed disoriented. After getting our room key, we found that it didn’t work, requiring us to return to the front desk. Instead of proper assistance, we received vague hand gestures on how to operate the outdated door lock system. When we finally managed to enter, we were shocked to find the room already occupied - the guest’s belongings were inside. Thankfully, no one was present, but the situation raised serious security concerns. Had someone been inside, the scenario could have been far worse. Given that we were in Alabama, where gun ownership is common, the thought of an accidental confrontation was unsettling. After returning to the front desk, we were given the correct room, but it was outdated, unclean & poorly maintained. The shower drain was filthy, making it an uncomfortable experience; and the beds felt itchy. By then, we had already decided to check out the next morning and booked a nearby hotel instead. Before leaving, we reported everything to the front desk. The staff apologized and promised to follow up regarding a potential refund after speaking with the owner. However, we never received a call, email, or refund—just another disappointment to end an already awful stay. Serious improvements are needed in security, cleanliness & customer service.

Took a while to check in, clerk had issues finding reservation in system.

On a trip with associates when on the second morning one of my associates got locked out of his room. He went to the front office to get manger to open door and she couldn't. He had an important meeting to get to and no time to spare. All she said was we don't have a maintenance man coming in and we would have to wait. Then she went back to the office and a man stopped by and said he could get us in the room. He kicked the door twice and it broke the door frame, and we were in. The manager came back and was mad that it was broken, we told what happened and she said the general manager was coming in to get a tool that they had made up to slide under the door to get it open. If this has happened before then they should either change to 30-year-old doors of teach the staff how to use the tool. Remember. 2 kicks and he was in. No security here. When we got back to the motel later that evening the young girl that was at the desk said he broke the door with a crowbar, which was a lie, and the manager wasn't even there when the other guest broke the door jamb with 2 kicks. he couldn't stay that night and they wouldn't refund for that night's stay and put a repair charge on his CC as well. He asked to speak the general manger, but he wouldn't take his call and we called Choice Hotels, and they were absolutely NO help!!

The staff were very friendly and I enjoyed an expeditious and altogether pleasant check-in. The rooms are very comfortable. I'm coming back to this property next time I'm in Scottshoro.

Had won the Golden Award for 2024. It was OK. Not anything to write home about. Walk to restaurants. Has onsite breakfast. Clean. Could use upgrades.

Good location to unclaimed furniture

The property was very convenient.

Very comfortable and clean. Spacious, with plenty of room. Easy access to anywhere and plenty of food choices.

Overall good. No place to put wet hand towels. No shampoo or body wash in dispensers. No kleenex, not all USB plugs worked. Breakfast lacking in variety. Place was clean, staff was pleasant.

Non smoking rooms stunk really bad of cigarette smoke. Staff did offer to move us. Breakfast could use a little better variety. The same food for the last 3 yrs.
