The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch

Self parking lot was inconvenient in that there are stairs to negotiate to get back and forth from the rooms. No elevator, and thus you need to drag your suitcases up and down the stairs when going to or from your car. Pool was good and service at the pool was good. Wish there was a hot tub.

The property grounds were very well kept and absolutely stunning. Paradise feel. Fantastic gym and workout facilities. Bar area with gas fire pit had comfortable seating. Easy place to relax. The room was very clean and the bed was amazing. Dining options at the bar sufficient. Friendly staff. I would recommend to a friend.

Not much food options, pool is slightly smaller, advertised as two pools, but one pool is just for villas or premium suites!

The hotel is under full renovation which isn’t disclosed. The pool is empty and drained. The restaurant is closed. Drilling and hammering began at 7am. And the toilet, shower and sinks were filthy - with the toilet having visible signs of “use” all over it. It’s unfortunate as we’ve stayed there many times and had much better experiences. But this trip was as if the place was running on a shoestring.

The description stated they had Ivi plug-ins for electric vehicles. There’s was not working I found myself having to charge my electric vehicle off property and plan my trip around it. Very inconvenient and they didn’t seem to be concerned at all. The spa was being remodeled I did not get a spa experience. I got a simple massage at cost twice as much money as if I just gone off property. It was nothing special, not the greatest experience.

STRESSFUL! What started out great quickly turned to extremely stressful and disappointing due to the hotels self parking situation. Machine constantly malfunctioning, pressing the call for help button repeatedly over the last few days to no answer. Having to leave the gate that won’t open, re park the car, run down stairs and wait in line for someone to hopefully help me. I was given multiple new barcodes to scan to open the gate that did not work, told that if I hit the help button valet guy would make sure he opened it and still nothing! I was late to 2 separate events that I tried to leave early for and was unable to get out of the parking structure. The hotel should have someone at the gate to help you if system is not working properly and most definitely shouldn’t be charging guests for parking till this issue is resolved ( as I met multiple hotel guests having the same issue ). When telling Crystal at the front desk about my these issues she said the WIFI is spotty and the reason these parking machines are not working properly and that it’s a private company so she can’t comp parking fees?! She offered to comp a $40 1 night resort fee. This is ridiculous! Our last night was topped off with stepping on cockroaches in our room executive suite room 197. Again told Crystal and she said sorry. FYI this is the first negative hotel review I have ever written, that’s how bad this experience was!

Sad the main pool was closed for renovations but everything else was wonderful. Newly renovated rooms are beautiful. Staff is great.

Staff was friendly and rooms were clean. The only complaint was we paid so much for parking and the arms were up most of the time there...

We drove up and were delighted with the view of the property, all the amenities including food, dining, pool, and gym were outstanding!

Great place beautiful areas to hang out. My room was really musty and stinky and the service at the bar and restaurant was consistently slow and not good.

Our room was really dirty and there was a huge gap under our door so we could hear every single sound from the courtyard outside our room. We asked if we could switch rooms and they said no. We also asked the bar for some champagne glasses and the glasses they gave us had lime pulp on them and chapstick residue.

Very nicely managed property. Friendly & helpful staff. Clean & large rooms. Common area, pool, fire pits all nicely maintained.

Stayed here twice this year and found it to be just lovely both times. There is something for everyone here. Very clean and comfortable, friendly and courteous staff. Highly recommend !

Beautiful and clean

It was a lovely stay. The staff was amazing and made sure we had a great stay. The rooms were clean and the grounds were beautiful! The spa experience at Luna spa was also amazing! Would stay here again!

My bathroom had a bad sewer smell to it.

The resort is in a great location for golfing, shopping, and dining. Overall, the property is well maintained, the rooms were comfortable and they were remodeled with Southwestern decor. If you want a quiet night sleep, the walls are somewhat thin and you will hear your neighbor next door and definitely all the hallway noise. The hotel does cater to conventions and weddings, along with having hotel guest, so it can be busy. The pool is very nice and they do have a pool bar, which is only open on the weekends.

The decor of the rooms were beautiful. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

I thought the hotel was beautifully updated. Loved the pool and bar at the pool. The shower takes a good solid 4-5 minutes of running water before the water is hot. Other than that, great hotel!

I enjoyed my stay although the remodel has left the rooms a little cold feeling. Where as they used the be more warm and welcoming.

Hot water issue in room. Took almost 20 minutes of running water to get the hot water to come in. Rooms at the very far end have this issue. Staff was willing to move us but too much of a hassle, we just dealt with it.

The Location and the grounds of the Property were very good, but the rooms are dated and the Wi-Fi very spotty

Really not a bad place. But it is old for the price you pay. The beds dip in the middle. No microwave in the room.

This place is stunningly beautiful! Our room was very nicely decorated and had a gorgeous view of the golf course. The pool is large and we had an easy time finding a lounge. The staff are very friendly and professional.

Phenomenal experience. Had an issue from third party booking sight. Front desk manager fixed it immediately. Quick check in process pool a resort is amazing. Whole hotel was very kid friendly. Well worth the money spent for the time being there.

Looks very nice. But had several issues - no one was at the desk for check-in - had to hunt someone down. No information on check out. No receipt provided and not sent as promised. No cleaning services provided (apparently one has to call and request new towels and bed made, but this is not communicated). No information other than room number provided when finally checked in. Resort fee but no information on what it’s for. Digital (tv) account info and facilities video didn’t didn’t work. Long wait to get a table at breakfast while staff ignores despite no line (people gave up waiting, and one group shouted). Cannot comment on food because never provided. Originally planned on extending stay but checked out. Still waiting for lodging receipt.

Scottsdale resort was absolutely amazing! Other than that the stay was fantastic!

Ethan at the check in counter was amazing!! However, the staff at the restaurant and bar ignored us and we ended up walking out without eating and ordered Skip.

The staff was ABSOLUTELY amazing. EVERYONE that walked by wanted to help if observed that myself and guests were not having a pleasurable experience. They offered water, moved us if we were in the sun during breakfast, and smiled while doing it. It was mine and my guest first time at the hotel and Arizona. I can’t wait to come back. Thank you for making my weekend special.

Every time I stay here, which is usually once or twice a month, I have a TERRIBLE experience at the bar. I try not to complain but last night I sat for about 15 mins at the bar until I had to ask for a menu and drink. The bartender said oh sorry my brain is still on vacation. I ordered a drink and a salad with chicken. I took about 20 min to get the plate of lettuce and no chicken. Bartender said sorry the chicken will be right out. 20 mins later the chicken arrived unsliced for a salad which of I can do. Last visit I ordered a martini with no vermouth it had vermouth and the bartender was rude and took forever to replace it. I also stay at Royal Palms regularly and I am always taken care of in the bar/restaurant. I expect more from a Hilton.

Overall, our stay at this hotel was nice. It’s a beautiful facility with a relaxing ambience. My only issue was a few inconsistencies with the service and messaging from the staff For example, We arrived around 2:30 PM and asked if we could access our room early to which we were told it was not ready and they would text us. I understand that sometimes an early check-in is simply not available. However, the following day I overheard a different staff member checking in someone in a similar circumstance and offered them a paid early check-in or the option to leave their bags with the bell hop and to freely access all of their amenities, including the pool, etc., none of which we were offered to us,we literally sat in the car for 2 hours waiting to access our room so we could utilize the pool. It would’ve been nice to know that we could’ve used those services and enjoyed them longer, but that was not offered to us. Secondly, the rule surrounding the pool are not enforced, mostly I do not care about outside food or drinks coming in, but the rules say that they are prohibited however, there was several people with their own food and beverage as well as smoking with no regulation. Also, FYI the pool stays open several hours past their posted time, something you may want to know if you stay in a pool view room. It didn’t bother us, but people are hanging out close to 11pm. I would stay again, but bummed we didn’t get the same hospitality as others at check in

hotel was nice. The room was good; the cleaning staff were lovely, as well as, the restaurant and pool people. However, the fire alarm went off accidentally two times during the night. Was an annoyance and got no message from the hotel to say we could go back to our rooms. And when my power went out in my room, on my very last day, I called the front desk and the women at guest services told me to push a button near the door to have everything restart because that’s how i should have known to have power since the beginning of my stay. No one ever told me this. And I never had to do it in all the 5 days I had been there. The woman at guest services just laughed when I told her this and never checked to see if my power went back on. When I went to check out, the front desk woman never asked me how my stay was or thank me for my stay. So I would say that this front desk woman was a 2 out of 10.

Nice location

The attention to small and meaningful details was a constant and welcome find as we experienced the property. Example: The main food area doesn't open for breakfast until 7am but the coffee/light bites/wine shop opens at 6am and closes late. With power for computers and devices at each of the bar seats so you can sip, snack and work. The rooms come with robes and slippers. There are lush couches and inviting seating arrangements everywhere in the common spaces. The rooms come with metal water bottles (in case you forgot your own water bottle) AND there is a filtered water dispenser for refilling. I highly recommend the pool facing patio rooms which have easy access to the main pool area as well as a lawn area with lawn games and Adirondack chairs. Normally I don't like a 1st floor room. But the patio doors have an extra lock, again a welcome small touch. I can highly recommend this lovely resort for being a luxurious sanctuary with warm, personable staff. And it's location is a big plus, with its close by access to a well populated retail services area and the Old Town neighborhood.

I needed a quiet comfortable place to get over jet lag from being in South Africa so the place was great for that! However the Wi-Fi signal was very weak most of the time in the room and I was told the best place for the signal was by the front desk and of course I didn’t want to take all my paperwork out there! In addition on the 21st I call the room service number to order some food sent to my room got a voice mail left a message about 6:30 pm then fell asleep. When I woke up at 8 pm there had been no response and I decided it was too late to order a meal so let it go. Also the valet parking garage was almost empty and it was very hot on the roof top parking plus two flights of stairs to carry luggage up and down is a hazard! Seems non-valet Parker’s should be able to use the shaded garage area in the heat of summer!!

I loved restaurant there, food delicious. We went there for every dinner, and breakfast.

We have stayed there before and enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately this time they failed to disclose they are remodeling and under construction 👎 One of the things we liked previously was having a nice bar and restaurant there. The bar is currently closed, the restaurant it limited and small, the spa closed (service provided in a room and no discounts for the inconvenience) the hall ways are VERY COLD!! I understand its Arizona but we were there and weather outside was in the 70’s! No need to have the hallways and restaurant at 60 degrees. I had a friend join for dinner and had to warn her to bring a sweater or jacket because it was so cold. I am sure it will be lovely once the remodel is finished, but for the time being if we go back we will most likely stay somewhere else until its finished.

Very good property. Very convenient for my trip. Close to golf courses. Room was very good. Housekeeping was not very thorough during my stay. Rugs were rather dirty and stained. Room service did not respond to my message I left. I was not overly impressed with the dining. Service in the dining room was excellent by Lynnee. Mike the Valet was over the top notch! outstanding job Mike, really took great care of me.

Our first time staying at this resort and we cannot wait to return in a few months. This is a unique, hidden gem of a boutique California-style vibe. We used to always stay at large resorts when visiting Scottsdale yet this hotel won us over. Excellent food, pool and quality.
