Love the beauty of the surrounding landscape! The room was comfortable. The gardens are gorgeous. The pool is nice enough but there was never any place to sit. Some of the pool chairs that were available were pulling apart and breaking. The pool area was loud and bustling, which isn’t a bad thing, but it would’ve been nice to have a quiet area for adults.

Resort does not have EV charging. There are no available AC outlets around the entire property, with the exception of multiple outlets by the entrance and near the loading dock. These outlets are specifically for charging the hotel carts. After checking-in late in the evening, and little range left, I found 6x unused outlets by the loading dock cart charging area. I spoke with the front desk and asked if I could use one of the outlets to plug my mobile charger in. I would not block anyone nor hinder access for vehicles to travel in both directions. In addition, I would write my cell # on the parking pass, so that if the hotel needed to reach me immediately, they could call the number. The front desk agreed. In the morning I received a call to the room asking me to move the car. When I arrived, the charger had been unplugged from the outlet- so that they could take out my charger from the car- This can actually damage the car* The head of security was waiting for me. I asked if he had unplugged my charger, he said yes, and said it was against hotel policy. I went to the hotel manager and asked why they unplugging my car? The manager said it was against hotel policy to charge. I explained that I had gotten permission the night before and left my number to call. He was absolutely rude and denied I had gotten permission. I asked him to show me proof that there was an actual no EV Charging Policy, and couldn’t produce one. RUDE AND BS-ers!

We went for the 4 th of July weekend. There was not enough towels. Not enough umbrellas that we had to go out and buy our own umbrella to shade ourselves . Not enough people working around the pool with no chairs I sat on the ground. The pool was packed you couldn’t move because you sold tickets to outside people that were not staying at the hotel. The grass was dead and there were no nice flowers or plants . When I went for the brunch breakfast in the morning the man on the omelet station was sweating and it was dripping into my food so I threw that food out . The next morning after each day the grounds were dirty with empty bottles and cups scattered about . I would never come back I spent a lot of money and was very disappointed .

Rooms are very dated. Stains on the carpet, shower head had calcium deposits all over it and wasn’t sealed to the wall tile. The tub drain in the shower was very slow to drain the water. The main pool is not relaxing on the weekends (overcrowded) and there isn’t enough seating available for the amount of guests present. On a positive note, the staff was very nice, professionally, and the restaurant was great!

I bet this property was top notch 25 years ago but now the rooms are really dated. The front desk and bar/food staff are very good though. Unfortunately the main hot tub was closed so I was directed to the hot tub at the casitas which was a drive from my room. Not ideal.

Great location near the mountains and some trails, didn’t like that the pool with the slide wasn’t working. Kyle and Andrew, who were working at night when we got in, we’re very helpful, they both are awesome

I didn’t like that when we’re going to our room. When we check in. The sheets and trash are piled up in corner in the hallways. The furniture looks like it has been cleaned in months. The carpet in the hallway needs be cleaned or replaced. It looks very dirty. The stuff was very attentive.

The resort was lovely and the staff was kind and helpful. Our room was pretty rundown and had a musty, stinky smell about it. The TV remote didn’t work, the safe was broken, we weren’t given any shampoo and no maid service was provided although we were out of our room from 8:30 am to 4 pm and again from 5 to 7.

The main building was very nice, clean and inviting. The casita we were put in was terrible and needs full renovation. The room smelled horrible and was very outdated. The bathtub had mold around it and there were multiple flies in the room. And the wall between us and the people next to us was paper thin. They received a wake-up call at 6 am both mornings we were there and I thought our room phone was ringing. The man in that room next to us coughed through the night and again, it sounded like he was directly in our room. We could hear everything they talked about. I would not the money we paid for that experience ever again.

The experience was disappointing. While the setting and location were beautiful, it was not a Four-star property. The pools needed updating; the main pool did not have enough lounge chairs, the adult pool was dirty, and there were no towels (even after four different people called for them). Lounge chairs were broken on only eight of them at the pool. Rooms were comfortable but dated, and showers still had shower curtains. They did have an an exceptional piano player two nights, and that was enjoyable. The main restaurant was excellent. Front desk service was fine. The coffee shop closed too early.

Solid pool and service, actually hotel felt outdated. TV was not a smart tv which stink because we had a movie in mind to watch whom we were there. TV remote didn’t work when we got into room. Paint was peeling in different spots in room. A lot of cobwebs and moths around in the hallway. Not the 5 star resort I was anticipating… also the breakfast buffet was not worth the 25$ per person, the food had been sitting there a long time and looked a little gross…

First room tv was broke, second room was ok. The pool near the room was dirty, all the lounge chairs had rips and couldn’t be used. Jacuzzi area was dirty and the jets didn’t work. Just overall mediocre for being a resort and spending what we spent.

It is located in a great area and this wasn't our first time staying there. However, this was not our best time, the bed skirts had stains and the carpet had a huge stain the middle of the floor. We told the front desk and they sent someone to clean it while we were gone. They cleaned one spot and not the other. No compensation or move to another room. In spite of this I would still recommend this place because of the mountain view is beautiful and the location is perfect.

Place is good to keep kids occcupied in the pool area and water slide, but dining options on property are severely limited. Had a great room, with lots of space and beautiful 65 inch TV. However it was dusty and allergy inducing, also the beautiful TV didn’t work. Ice machines on our building didn’t work.

We were really looking forward to our stay at El Conquistador based on the pictures, but unfortunately, it ended up being pretty underwhelming. We booked a "Mountain View" room, but were placed on the first floor, where the only thing we could really see was the hill leading up to the parking lot — definitely not what we expected. The room had a patio, but since it wasn’t enclosed and we were on the ground level, the added security gate they promote didn’t make much difference. The room itself felt dated, and the overall property seems like it’s showing its age. Walking to our room, we noticed moths in the hallway, which didn’t add to the experience. It feels like this resort may have been really nice at one point, but it's in need of better upkeep and attention to detail. Not the relaxing stay we were hoping for.

Food was good, the poll was GREAT. The bed comfortable, however there were spiders in the room and bed. Wi-Fi was troublesome to log on. The TV does not have access to the internet, no YouTube, mostly regular TV with commercials, the only service is HBO. You pay an extra $29.00 dollars every day for a limited internet access service on the TV. Legacy media give no useable news, or information. I felt I was cut off from the world. When I'm traveling, I need accurate information on the weather conditions at my next destination.

Our stay here was great . We had a Beautiful view from our balcony, room was nice and specious, bathroom was nicely lit , beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly. Location was excellent Near stores and restaurants.

I know it was graduation weekend. I was from out of town and not part of that. The pool was packed and they had 1 bartender working. Took over 30 minutes to get a drink. EVERY TIME! The inside bar was a little better. But, what crappy attitudes some of them had. Sad. Front desk staff and house keeping were excellent. Rooms and grounds awesome.

The initial room I was given was not cleaned, bags of trash, bed unmade and all trash cans in room flowing with trash (I have pics) when shown the issue to front desk barely an apology and just key for next room, no upgrade offers or care to making things better for my stay. Sad customer service

Very dates interior, staff at restaurant and cafe’s are rude and text on their phone the whole time… Front desk staff amazing and sweet…. Room Service and bellman great!!! They have change bar start time on Sunday 11am isn’t acceptable… the system where they text you let you know your room is ready doesn't work…. I don’t think I would start here again…. Waiting for 10-15 for 4 mimosas is unacceptable, the host working on father’s at the restaurant was rude shoved drinks towards and still mange to get one drink wrong….. There commercials boasted of connecting rooms. After one email and 2 phone calls assuring this would be done our rooms were not together. Our rooms were identical in every way but the cost was $72 + more for one of the rooms. Customer service is awful from check in to out and now that our stay is over you can’t get any communication from them. This was a very special occasion for our family and I’m heart broken.

The customer service was the best part about staying at the El. The Wi-Fi wasn’t working in our first room. The front desk sent a tech to try and fix it, but no luck. They graciously offered a new room. They even waived the resort fee. The new room was even better than the first one. The first room was by the Acacia pool felt dated. Plus we couldn’t use the pool with our kids since it was adults only, and we were a far walk from the main pool. But the new room was right by the main pool, had a pool view, and it was more modern. We will definitely stay here again!

Great stay while visiting family. You really need a car for the area. Our only complaint was that one night we ate dinner on property and we were told we needed a reservation and to come back in 45 min. We sat in the bar area and waited and at no time were there more than 4 tables in the whole restaurant. Maybe they were short on staff, but it was disappointing with two small children.

This was our first day at this property and we were very disappointed. We had hoped to get into a room a couple of hours early because we had driven along a while to get there and all the front desk could do was tell me that the check-in time is solidly 4 PM. We chose this hotel because of the pictures of its pool and grounds and the pool was very disappointing. It was dirty, there were a bunch of rowdy people throwing a football, drunk, older adults yelling at the top of their lungs, people vaping and laying in their Bluetooth music for all to hear. Nobody came by the first day to offer us or take our order. As I think back, with the exception of a waitress on the second day at the pool, we didn’t speak to any staff members. The front desk folks kind of stared us down as we walked through the lobby the second night. Not sure what the issue is With them. Also, I’m getting tired of putting information about my family and the number of guests into hotels.com reservations and the hotels not being prepared for that many people in the room… I’m talking about having to always call for the proper number of towels.

It took over 5 hours to check in with no rooms available arriving 10:30 am, after numerous attempts, a room was not provided until 3:30 pm. Restaurant breakfast was horrible, horrible buffet so ordered service. Avocado toast and burrito sandwich was cook by am inexperienced chef. I could go on but it’s not worth it. Definitely a 2 star hotel.

We stayed here while attending the gem show. Although it was about a 30 min drive from most of the exhibits, this was a really beautiful area of the valley. Very quiet—no freeway noise, safe, comfy beds. I would stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the El Conquistador. The grounds are beautiful and there are great amenities. The rooms are a bit dated, but the convenience of having a comfortable two bedroom casita far outweighs that. Staff was very friendly and the location in Oro Valley was convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

the location of the property was great. Hiking trail head was close by. There were several great places to eat but where a short drive away. The hotel lobby was beautiful when you arrive. The men out front greeting you were fantastic and helpful. The rooms, pool, and general building are in need of updating. There wasn't enough umbrellas or chairs for the number of guests, even on the slower days. Also many of them were damaged. It would be a very nice hotel with some much needed updates. I will say the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.

This property should have a shuttle going to & from the airport. This property has the best view, food at restaurants, and bar service. With that said , updates to rooms (carpets) elevators( everything inside and out)and hallways need to be made(lighting/new carpet)Microwaves should be in rooms.

This hotel is in a beautiful tranquil setting surround by the Catalina mountains and desert landscape that was in full bloom with walkways around the hotel to explore. I parked in the back of the hotel which was close to my room but parking seemed to be a challenge in the main lots.

This is a wonderful property. The staff were very kind and helpful. The restaurant was excellent for breakfast. I suggest you stay in Building 1 on the top floor if you can.

this is a very nice resort and enjoyed the amenities. Im not a foodie and will eat anything....but i found the quality of the menus of the various options to be not at the same level of the resort. just lacking in quality. the chicken tacos. abysmal, just thrown together with precooked chicken that is so dry.

It was a typical hotel. Everything was clean, tidy and in order. There was a mini fridge in the room which was nice. The bed was soft so our backs hurt every day. The pool and grounds were beautiful. Restaurant food left me underwhelmed and the conference food as well. The coffee was .. bla, especially the room coffee.
