Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Bakersfield, CA

The hot tub was out of service for the entire stay . I would not have stayed there if i had known the hot tub unavailable. Also the wifi was intermittent. Wifi barely worked inside our hotel room for the entire trip. Last year when i stayed here things were functional and returned. I will not return .

I reserved 2 rooms, had stained towels, mold in shower, ants in bathroom, shower was hot/cold inconsistent while showering. The hotel pool was green so my kids were unable to swim yet they advertised a clean looking pool

The breakfast was nice! The parking area is gated, so that feels safe. Pretty noisy with a party going on in someone’s room, but it wasn’t the hotels fault. The hotel is definitely older and you get what you pay for. It was clean though!

I wish the Pool was clean didn't get to go swimming but other than that everything else was good

The room had everything we needed for this trip; although a door separating the living room from the bedroom would have been nice. There wasn’t sufficient bathroom counter space in our opinion, but the room overall was a decent size and had what we needed. The area where the hotel is located is a bit run down. The pool is on the outside of the hotel where the sun cant warm it up, which made the pool cool constantly and the hot tub pump / heater was broken so it was also very cold.

Room did not stay cool at all. Pool was closed even though i called after we booked and was told yes its open. Had to pay to park at hotel. Would have been nice to know up front.

I didnt like paying 5 dollars for parking, other then that it was a fantastic visit. I will definitely come back and not worry about that 5 dollar parking .

Overall the facility feels run down and not very clean. The card reader on the lobby door is broken and a lot of common area carpets are stained, etc. We chose this place partly for the EV charging but there's only one plug and it was taken when we got there :-/ On the plus side the mini fridge worked well in our room.

Rose at the front desk was excellent. Lounge was quite calming. Breakfast was quite good with real utensils. Elevator was not working and being in the farthest room on the third floor was very difficult.

As soon as we walked in there was a bad odor. The room was moldy in the shower. The Drapes were cut and dirty. The light cover had a ton of stuff up in it. The bathroom. switches were dirty. The floor felt very grimy rheoughout.

Room had broke and dirty blinds, the entire room was dirty from the walls to the carpet and furniture. The restrooms ceiling had mold and the shower curtain and tub was dirty.

-Our room had mold on the bathroom ceiling -broken window. Part of the glass was missing -blinds were chipped -random pieces of furniture was stored in the closet.

I woke up coved in bed bugs

The first room was dirty, I mean disgusting. There was pubic hair in the tub and the tub was filthy. The curtains were hanging off the rod and stained. The whole room smelled like b.o. and cigarettes.

We received a text as soon as we checked in that maid service would be every 3rd day. The elevator near ourroom was out of order so we had to use the lobby elevator and walk across the hotel to our room. It was the longest hallway. We were 1 door before the last room. The walls were yellowed, there was a black "crud" around the calk on the sink, the shower/tub had peeling paint, the calk on the tile above the tub/shower had a huge gap, the floors of the hallway were stained everywhereand the hallway and room smelled like smoke. The next afternoon (1st full day there)neither of our keys worked and our "do not disturb" sign was missing from our door when we returned. I walked all the way to the lobby to get new keys. While there I asked about the smoke smell and if smoking was allowed and if someone on our floor had been smoking because that night and morning it was bad, not just cigarette but also marijuana. We chalked it up to being at the back of the building and maybe someone outside smoking. My son was sneezing and coughing all morning as he is allergic to cigarette smoke. The employee at the front desk said that someone had been "kicked out" that morning for smoking and they were sorry but it happpens. I also inquired about our "do not disturb" sign and she said some guests "remove them"she would send a maid down with another. The sign had been moved to the inside of our door and our beds were made. Nothing was done about smell or black stuff. Pool was freezing

Room had black mold in it! My wife is allergic to it, and we had our 5 month old baby with us. When I tried to switch rooms or get a refund to go elsewhere to sleep safely, they said it was full and could not offer a refund!! We had photos in hand and they did not care! This place forces their guests to breathe in black mold and pay for it! The staff were incredibly rude about and completely indifferent! The situation was so bad, another guest offered us to stay in their room on the sofa bed, which we did!!!!!! We paid for a king size suite, only to sleep in another guests room for safety????!!! This place is an absolute dump!! The place itself is so run down in general and the area very unsafe. The place in its entirety, bed, building and surrounding area are highly comparable to a motel 6. Dirty, moldy bathroom, room, stained yellowed- bedding, dirty carpet, VERY dirty walls, curtains, prostitution, and definitely not sound proof as stated. Worst place ever booked. Photos are misleading! This place is not family oriented nor is it safe. The entire thing is like putting an old and cheap lipstick on a pig. Please keep you and your family safe and DO NOT book here unless you want to leave with an illness!

The staff was nice upon greeting. The room itself was terrible, it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. There was grime on the walls, curtains, carpets. The room smelt like cigarettes even though it was non-smoking. The door to the room had a gap underneath making it so we could hear everything going on outside the room. There was stray cats walking around the parking lot. We ended up leaving and finding a different hotel even after driving 12 hours. Do not recommend even if it’s just for a night.

Lobby and breakfast area very nice and clean. But once we went into our room I was disappointed. It’s very old and outdated, stains on the carpet and it was dirty. It was hair in the shower and on the bed. The walls were very dirty as well with patched up holes. We arrived very late so we stayed and it was only for one night if we would of got there earlier in the day we would of left and found a different place to stay. The shower has no door and for some reason every time the AC clicks on the bathroom light click on and when the AC clicks off the light turns off. Although the bed was comfortable I didn’t sleep comfortably because of the conditions of the room. I would never stay here again

The shower had a loud whistle sound when we took a warm shower. The pillows on the bed are the worst. I had to use 4 pillows just to try have a decent sleep.

Teresa came and checked the a/c and then checked out a different room and subsequently moved us there. She was great. Also, there is a "bar" near the lobby. It only has beer and a couple of sweeter wines, so I'm reluctant to actually call it a bar. Kudos to Teresa for taking care of us.

Room 223 was a great room, loved how it was separated on the sides!

Room had a stench & a crowing rooster. I checked out immediately & went to another hotel.

This motel has a separate suite with a TV and a pullout couch which makes it nice for a spouse that is an early riser. The breakfast is good!

The rooms were comfortable, a little bit of a strange layout. I thought the tub was dirty but that was just how it was. Worst part, no WiFi.

I rated it purely on value for the money. The air conditioner sounded like a Mack truck - super loud. The carpet was stained. Certainly nothing that they could control but I was awoken just after 4 AM by two roosters doing call and response right behind my room, and they were still going strong when we checked out at 8. Not the best business travel experience I've ever had, for sure. I would have been okay with it at half the price, but at the price I paid it seemed overpriced for what I got.

I was unfairly charged $150.00 for towels they said I damage. I have called several times in the past 5 days to speak with with management to dispute this, but management have not been available nor have they returned my phone calls. I spoke with some one at the front desk on 6-2-24 and now they saying towels were missing from the room. It went from damaged towels to missing towels. This is so frustrating and unfair!!!!! and management is not returning my calls.

My key card didn’t work so I went back to the front desk and they reactivated my key. I opened the door. There was a man staring at me. There was a homeless person in my room. The receptionist didn’t apologize or didn’t even bother to check the room. What else can I say? Just take this hotel off from your listing.

Horrible staff, put us in the wrong room and didn’t want to help us out, so we checked out and they banned us lol for checking out even though we would NEVER stay there again!

Unfortunately staff gave room key to someone and I got my stuff stolen from my room.

Excellent staff. Clean property. Well kept. Left airpods behind and they called to advise. Very pleased with my stay.

Great property but not in great area

I was in Bakersfield, CA for business. The room I had was big but not clean. The furniture was used, and it looked it. The breakfast they offered was ok, nothing great, Staff was friendly and helpful. The area around the hotel was ok. Its next to a mall and a target. Lots of fast-food places to eat. The hotel was busy, and you could hear kids running up and down the hallway. Its ok for a one or two night, but I was there for a week.

Convenient location. Lot next door rather seedy on one side, but motel itself very pleasant.

Claustrophobic hotel , not the most comfortable (safe) area,

This property is located in a rather seedy location, so as a solo female I would not stay there again. The young man who checked me in was condescending when I had questions about getting back into the hotel since the key reader at the door was broken. My sheets were rumpled and looked dirty. The property is pretty run down in general.

Great location. AC struggled to cool room but it was over a 100 degrees. Wish there was another unit for bedroom

I was disappointed by the location. A lot of homeless around it. The smell in the room and what not super clean. The breakfast was great. For one night it was ok. I didn’t feel safe outside of the hotel.

I’m glad I chose this hotel for my stay. Location was very convenient. Right off the 99, down the street is a shopping mall with many different stores and restaurants. The place was nice and clean and the staff were very friendly. When I go to Bakersfield again, I will stay there.

On check in they did not tell us that the pool was out of order.....it was 103 degrees in Bakersgfield this weekend. The Sunday breakfast was a joke, Worst selection I have seen at a hotel breakfast in years.

Choice for complimentary breakfast was very scanty. Chair fabric is worn out. Bathroom vent was so noisy.

Dirty, grimy, old poorly insulated windows with a dog barking outside. Lousy continental breakfast. I paid a little more for this over some other chain brands as I’ve always had a good experience with country inn and suites. Would not stay here again.

Clean, large room. Breakfast: hot food: pork sausage, biacuits, and potatoes. We didn't find them gravy. Hotel waffle. Oatmeal. Cold cereal. Fruit juices and coffee.

I don't like the breakfast is minimal, would like more fresh fruit, pan cakes, bacon and sausage.

Best breakfast for any hotel I have been to. Love the place and would go back if I am in the area.

Was not pleased with the same breakfast before they gave a better selection for breakfast this time was not enjoyable. Food was cold. Very poor set up!!

Wonderful stay. Everyone was friendly. They even made fresh cookies for the guest. Breakfast was excellent. Will stay again.
