Right off the 15th, there is plenty of parking, even for trucks and large RVs. Rooms are large and include a coffee maker and DirecTV with some premium channels. The swimming pool was right outside our room, and there was a hot tub! Continental breakfast is available for no charge.

Large pool, great breakfast, nice staff. Gym, vending machines. Ground level rooms have a Patio door facing parking lot (some patio doors face the pool), convenient for loading/unloading the car. Nearby restaurants, stores within walking distance. Town itself seems a little rough, however at the hotel, it's been quiet and feels safe. Would stay here again.

Friendly efficient check-in. Room was clean and included, wifi, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, iron and iron board. Desk, chair, lamps with USB charge ports. Bathroom had all amenities including toothbrush and toothpaste if needed. Great shower with lots of pressure. Breakfast has everything you can think of for adults and their kids. Several charging stations available for EV's. I would make this my first choice for staying when passing through in the future.

I had a large cooler that I needed to bring into my room. Room was on the 2nd floor of one of the larger buildings on the NORTH side. I couldn't find an elevator anywhere so I had to carry it upstairs to get it to my room. Not a problem or complaint for me, just want to warn folks who need accessibility that this might not be the right property for them, or to at least try notifying the staff on the front end that they need a room that easily accessible.

My key card stop working like every two or three. Breakfast was good but same thing for two weeks. The gym in on the second and noisey when running on treadmill. The hotel is NO REFUNDS.

Traveling through I was very happy with this hotel. Very friendly and great price. Super clean and excellent breakfast to start the day. I enjoyed a beautiful swim in a large clean pool. The weather was perfect and super refreshing after a long drive. I would recommend staying here . I slept great and the bed was really comfortable. Any questions I had the front desk was very accommodating. Thank you for such a relaxing visit.

This is a really good inexpensive motel. Breakfast is great, so it’s good for the overnight traveler. It’s very old, and though the staff takes very good care of it, there’s only so much you can do about carpet that is at least 30 years old. It’s truly disgustingly dirty. Wear your shoes indoors at all times. Bring slippers.

I first thought the room was great. It's clean and comfortable, but the bathtub is disgusting. I decided to take a bath. I started filling the tub and the non-slip mat started to rise with the water. I pulled it back and there was so much funk and filth under it, it was gross. There's also black mold. This is sad because the laziness of one employee can ruin a business. The breakfast was good.

The bed was very hard the walls are really thin could hear people talking next door and kids running around upstairs. The breakfast had a nice assortment of different things to choose from. Eggs scrambled or omelettes coffee juices cereal muffins and bagels also a waffle maker. I would probably not stay here again due to the hardness of the bed. Everything else seemed to be ok.

Great price for a clean and comfortable place to stay. Microwave and fridge in the room (there were even two water bottles left for us). Good breakfast (deluxe continental). Beds are firm. Easy to unpack from car simce sliding glass door to room is right next to parking spot. Lots of fast food and restaurants within walking distance. Counter in bathroom unusually low but that's not a big deal.

This was an older property, but it had been upgraded really nicely. The mattress was a little soft for our liking, and it only had three small pillows, also the railway lone is close by so about every 4 hours or so it sounds like a freight train is coming through the door. Honestly we would never stay in this City again but it has nothing to do with the hotel

This hotel charged a deposit for incidentals or damage. This deposit was substantially higher than all the other hotels I stayed at during a cross country trip. They said my deposit would be refunded in 5-6 days. I did not damage the room or have any incidental charges. When I checked my credit card statement 11 days after my stay I saw that they had not refunded my deposit. I phoned the hotel and asked them about it. They said I smoked in the room so they were keeping my deposit. I do not smoke, nor does my travel companion. We did not even light a match in that room. When I disputed this with the assistant manager he just said I signed a paper stating I wouldn’t smoke. He was very disagreeable and did not offer any hope that they would return my deposit. I suspect this is a scam and a way to overcharge for mediocre lodging. Travelers beware!!!

The room was clean and big. The breakfast was decent. The TV did not work even after I tried unplugging the cords and turning on and off the power strip and another remote as suggested by the front desk. The towel rack fell off the wall. The water in the shower never got hot. It was lukewarm at best. The front desk offered another room but it was too late at that time since we had taken lukewarm showers. The front desk told me the manager would be in touch with me the next day. I called him and he was very rude.

Every aspect of my stay was perfect. Check in was smooth and they accommodated my room request. The room was cheerfully decorated and very clean. Same with the bathroom where they automatically provided the normal shampoos, soap and lotion, plus toothbrush, paste, etc.The pool was quite large and very clean with ample lounge seating. The breakfast buffet was better than most and attended regularly by staff, so items didn't run out. WIFI had more than adequate speed. Every staff member had a smile or a good morning greeting. My experience was better at this Inn than at most hotel chains charging twice as much. I am from Michigan and stayed for one night, but would happily return, if in Barstow. This place is a gem!

When I arrived I had already paid for my room all I had to do was to get my room key the lady at front desk was rude an said 100 dollar deposit I didn't have I tried getting her the money but she wasn't trying to be helpful in anyway she had my card on file she could've taken the deposit from there or charged card if I damaged the room so I was than out of money for room an had no where to stay thank you California inn

For the price this was a very clean hotel. Room decor was modern, no old hotel or musty smells. Parking was safe and away from Main Street. We felt safe during our stay. We would recommend this hotel for those traveling and need a good nights sleep.

California Inn is a good stopover on a road trip to/from Death Valley or Vegas. It’s a simple, no frills hotel on commercial Main St in Barstow. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet and the simple breakfast ample to get on the road. The staff were friendly and helpful. A good choice if you’re on a budget and want a place to sleep.

We won’t stay here again. Breakfast items all ran out and the desk clerk was desperately trying to get things done. There were no blankets on the bed and the air conditioning blasted cold air uncontrollably. We froze all night. If we turned it off we melted

This is a great little hotel. I can only compare to other budget hotels and this one offers so much the others don't. It's clean, nicely decorated and had lots of space. I had 2 regular chairs and a desk with another chair They have an ice machine which i rarely see. I can't remember a time a Hotel had complementary toothbrush and toothpaste. So many nice little touches. The breakfast is also very nice with plenty of seating. The hotel i was at the previous night (similar price) didnt have a hair dryer and breakfast was pastry and 2 cereal choices. Here its waffles, eggs, sausage, 4 cereal choices. Oj, apple and cranberry juice. Toast, bagel, coffee and milk. The only thing that didnt work for me... but could be great for some. The bed is very springy. So it has no give. For people who like a very supportive bed... this is it. I like a bit softer. The pillows are a bit flat. I actually dont mind that, but if you like plump, bring your own. Overall this is a great place. Been here before and i will be back next time i pass through Barstow.

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, the rooms were clean, and overall the experience was pleasant. The morning breakfast was pretty good for a hotel. There was scrambled eggs, sausage links, and potatoes, along with all the other normal Continental breakfast options. My only complaint (and it's minor) was that the pillows were not very comfortable. Otherwise, I had a great stay!

This was a one night stay on our way to California. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Good amenities (they even had a tooth brush and floss in the bathroom!). The breakfast was not very good. They started serving at 6:30 and when we get in there a little after 7 most everything was gone. Took about 15 minutes for them to restock. Eggs and potatoes were dry and chewy. Not impressed.
