We’ve stayed here several times in the past. Good location. No daily maid service and you have to give 24 hours notice if you want it but you can ask at front desk for coffee or towels if needed. The drain in the sink has a rotten egg (slider) odor and I’ve noticed it in past visits. However, it is a good location and anemities are good for the price. Moonstone beach boardwalk and access right across the street.

I received a note from the hotel that the front desk would be closed from 7:30pm-8pm on the day of our arrival. After 4 hours of driving we arrived at 6:15 to find a note that the front desk would be closed from 6pm-6:44. I had no way of accessing my room, or a bathroom. Traveling for so long from camping with my 8 year old daughter, this was infuriating. We waited in the car and saw other guests attempt to check in or talk to the front desk. When the person finally arrived - there was no apology whatsoever. He checked us in and informed us that the pool was empty/broken. So we get into our room and I was pleasantly surprised by the size and clean bathroom. However, our feet blackened from the dirty carpet and a dirty armchair had been moved to hide a coffee or food stain on the carpet. The fridge and microwave were clean and the bed was comfortable. The sheets were worn, though. I went to the front desk to purchase beverages, they were out of a few offered. There was a couple asking to switch rooms because theirs smelled bad and the WiFi wasn't reaching them. No breakfast, as advertised. No stir sticks for coffee? "I guess we're out" My daughter and I still enjoyed our stay. The fireplace was nice and we got a good shower in. It's directly across the local road to the ocean. The FogCatcher in need to lower the price, lower expectations, shampoo the carpets, and up their standards.

The location is excellent, and we enjoyed our stay in Cambria, but the hotel did not meet expectations for a property costing over $400 per night. Our room (806) had a noticeable dog-urine odor and significant stains throughout the carpet. The front-desk staff were also not particularly welcoming or customer-friendly. In addition, the hotel’s own pamphlet stated that tea service was available until 11:00 p.m., but when we went at 7:00 p.m., we were told it had ended at noon. These details may seem minor individually, but together they made the experience feel overpriced and disappointing. The location is great, but at this price point, I expected much better cleanliness, service, and attention to detail.

Stayed 4 nights

The pool was empty which wasn’t known when we booked. It was unfortunate as that was one of our criteria. They said we could use the pool at their sister property but that wasn’t convenient. They also ran out of pillows which was a problem. If you have 4 people staying you should have 4 pillows. Their solution was to give us more blankets.
