Loved the heated pool! Wish they had continental breakfast, the “restaurant” food was hotel food for high price. Also no microwave in the room is another way to sneak in extra costs, making you eat out.

Very disappointed no jacuzzi. Pictures on line showed one and they had turned it into a fire pit. Change pictures . Need new gardeners. Weeds everywhere in courtyard area not nice

Well located quiet property, eventhough it's near a small airport. Pool was very clean. Doesn't have a jacuzzi. The staff was friendly and courteous. Had a nice quiet stay. I was pleased by the cost of my stay. I have stayed here before and liked my experience.

Nice property with heated pool. Close to LEGOLAND and the beach. TVs were great. Had hbo and showtime plus streaming services could be signed into. Can bring your own devices and hook up music via Bluetooth or gaming systems via hdmi. Only would have liked more towels to start with

The hotel is really nice and the room was very clean. The only things I wasn't aware of was that the restaurant is only open certain hours of the day (breakfast and dinner), and there is a daily $15 parking fee.

This review is based on the cleanliness of my stay and the housekeeper who was caught not changing linen. Once entering my room checking in, I noticed a lot of hair on my pillows and sheets. I knew the sheets weren’t changed at all. I saw a housekeeper outside of my room and asked her for pillow cases and if the sheets could be changed. She said “oh I ran out”. I’m wondering if she ran out, how are you changing room linen? She had no bed linen in her cart except towels and toiletries. This is beyond foul. She then said “ wait a minute” and proceeded to walk to the end room which might’ve been the linen room? She handed me a bunch of wrinkled linen for ME to change. Second foul! I assumed these sheets could be used. I am disgusted by my stay and the upkeep of this place! Never again.

I chose this hotel bc I've had great experiences w Marriott—all brands/ levels. Despite stellar reviews for this particular one, I was sorely disappointed. The room was “pretty clean” but the room felt so gloomy and blah. The telephone for our room didn’t work, I kept getting “this extension cannot be reached” for every button I dialed. I finally had to look up the hotel number and call the front desk to get more towels delivered to the room while juggling kids in the bathroom. The walls are paper thin, we heard conversations on both sides of the room and my kids couldn’t sleep until almost midnight. Lo and behold 4:30am the person in the room above us started walking around (which they absolutely should be able to do) but we heard every creak from each footstep, every flush, and could even time exactly how long they were in the shower. Unreal that a Courtyard Marriott would have such thin floors and walls. The things we liked were (most) of the staff—very friendly except for a couple that couldn’t be bothered to give more than one word answers. The location of was also in a good, quiet area which made me feel safe while traveling w kids and was close to Legoland. For the $300+ price tag however, will not be returning for a bare bones experience.

We stayed for 3 nights, 1st night we arrive later than check in time. The front desk receptionist gave us a room right in front of the exit back door which at 1st I didn’t mind until people started going in and out the door late at night and super early in the morning slamming the door noon stop. It kept waking us up all night long for the 3 nights we stayed there. We didn’t get a proper rest the entire time we stayed there. I feel for the price you pay you would think they would place you in a room where you can rest after a long day of exploring. I also was told I was going to get parking waved and they didn’t. Once I got the receipt I saw they charge me for parking for the 3 nights. The property was clean over all. Staff were nice.

Our room was odd -- the bathroom door, which was very wide, opened into the area in front of the small sink area. There was very little counter space surrounding the sink, so four people had no room to place toiletries. Any time someone needed to get to the toilet/shower or into the closet, which is directly across from the sink, a person in front of the sink had to completely move out of the area. The light above the sink is triggered by motion, so when someone got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, the room was flooded with light! Ridiculous! I would not stay at this hotel for those two reasons -- unless I were traveling alone for business. The parking spaces are narrow, making unloading people and bags inconvenient. The side entrance had several steps, so not the easiest for older people. The front desk person was very friendly but did not explain well where to go.

THE BED WAS THE WORST I HAVE EVER SLEPT ON! it was cheap and hard. The bottom sheet would continuously come off. The property itself was nice but if you can’t sleep and have a backache in the morning it’s hard to enjoy the stay. No free breakfast and every other day maid service.

It seems there is almost no soundproofing in this hotel. You can hear the TVs and casual conversations from the adjacent rooms, and everything in the hallways. I was coming back from getting a coffee downstairs and could hear my wife blow drying her hair from at least 10 rooms away.

We enjoyed the room but were surprised there wasn't a microwave. Found out they have one in the dining room/ Market room which I guess is for everyone to share. People were very nice and food was very good. Different from the usual. They fix each order- we pay.

I requested to change my two Queens to King as I was with my spouse. The answer from the Front desk that as the reservation was from an OTA she cannot change it. After much convincing she said the property was sold out. The parking lot at 8 pm was not very full. I personally think this was not a mistake of the front desk as Marriot needs to train their staff that OTA or direct booking customers must get the same hospitality treatment.

Checkin went smoothly, representative was welcoming and friendly; room was quiet and well maintained; the next morning, had to wait at checkout desk about 5 minutes - no one was there and I needed to check out around 6 AM; there was a sign saying someone would be back shortly - a nice gentleman then came and checked me out but I think a little bell at the desk would be good for guests to signal the employees that they are there

Horrible experience. I got locked out of my room & the receptionist held me and my children in the lobby at midnight for about 30 minutes refusing to let me in my room. To this day I’m still waiting on a call back from a “manager”

My check in staff was so rude, no instructions given how to get to my room. All she said was around the corner. Breakfast was included in my reservation and when I went to get my breakfast I was told that I couldn’t get anything else but cereal because the cashier was broken.. ridiculous…

There was a guy named Greg that works there who is EXTREMELY rude. First night I asked him if he had a bag for the drinks I bought, he gave me an attitude. Then I saw him the next night and I asked him about my bill and he called me drunk. All because the bill wasn’t adding up, I have the right to know what I’m being charged for. He started to call me “dumb” and threatened to call the cops if I didn’t stop asking him about my bill. One of the rudest people I’ve ever met, but ZACH is the man and helped me with everything I needed. I’ll go back just to see Zach!

It would have been great to have complimentary breakfast, at least a coffee stand for the quests. Also considering the remote location of the hotel (no shuttle service or public transportation, non-walkable area), I found the parking fee an unneeded add-on for the cost of stay. Apart from those, the hotel was clean and safe with friendly staff.

The staff were very welcoming, contacting us when our room was ready for a slightly early check in. They too were able to provide us with a play pin for our toddler. The property was very clean and quiet!!! The Bistro was a perfect addition for a quick snack/night cap. Thank you for making our trip to Carlsbad a success, we'd defintiely atay again if in the area.

If you take a breakfast included room option they don’t have a breakfast buffet similar to most places but just a standard menu to chose a drink and one food item. That’s the least to expect from a Marriott considering there are no options to eat out around the place.

Clean room, friendly staff. They have a bar in the lobby, but not a real bartender. Breakfast staff - for purchase. 45+ minute wait and a staff member with long dark hair with braids was yelling at customers to dispute their card if they didn’t want to wait and saying we’re busy can’t you see that. 45+ minutes for a toasted bagel… yikes
