Very friendly staff, immaculate (very spacious) room, well kept pool and courtyard area, clean laundry room with reasonable priced machines.

Janet the front desk Manager was very kind and helpful. She was especially kind in helping my son - who had to be online finishing his summer course- she made sure he was comfortable, safe and ensured he wasn’t disturbed in their little lobby area while he was online. A small establishment but clean and staff was welcoming!

Hotel was basic but that’s what we paid for. You can hear highway traffic from pool and courtyard.

If you are looking for your basic hotel room, this is your hotel. It was very clean but with no "frills" as my title suggests. My room had a mini-frig, hair dryer, iron & ironing board but no coffee maker. Much rather have a coffee maker than an ironing board any day! Coffee was available in the lobby and there was a pleasant outdoor patio area. The "breakfast" available was pre-packaged, store bought "Pain au Chocolat" and was their standard offering. I was there for 3 nights and the breakfast option never changed. I didn't try it, so I can't comment whether it was good or not. The front desk employees were efficient but not overly friendly. Never saw one of them even smile. The location is convenient to things in the area and is easy access. There is a pie shop within walking distance that friends said is good but I didn't get the opportunity to try it out. All in all, if your main focus in hotel choice is a clean, air conditioned room, Days Inn by Wyndham Carlsbad fits the bill.

The room was very clean and spacious. The staff greeted us courteously upon check-in and check-out. There are snacks and beverages available for purchase at the front desk area. The hotel features a pleasant patio and courtyard in the central area, providing a comfortable space to relax and socialize. The hotel's proximity to the freeway may result in some noise; we recommend bringing earplugs or playing calming music if you're sensitive to sound. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable.

The pool sucked no jacuzzi

This hotel is right by the freeway. There are no interior hallways so the doors and windows leak sound, especially the doors. This was the biggest challenge when it came to working, relaxing, or sleeping, and reminds me never to book this close to a freeway without proper insulation from traffic noise. It is also evident from the lobby and any outdoor areas like the pool. Additionally there are no direct stairs to the 3rd floor - only stairs that lead to the sidewalk outside the property.

Properly is nice, clean but room had a bit of a stuffy smell when we first walked in. The receptionist was nice and friendly. We only stayed for one night. You can hear the fwy from our room but we zoned it out, was not a deal breaker for us.

Stars added because of wonderful front desk staff. The room was very dirty, still hairs in the tub and overall very loud and dirty room. Ended up not staying the night because of the noise and lack of cleanliness.

Hair in the tub from previous guest. Table top sticky. I washed it myself. Continental breakfast an embarrassment. No coffee. Room did not have a dresser so we had to live out of our suitcase.

I was really impressed by this property. While the hotel looks more like a motel than a hotel, the rooms themselves are in excellent condition and spotless. Cleaning crew was working it seemed like 24 hours a day to make sure that everything was right. Thereis street noise from the highway nearby. But you sort of get used to that. The staff was pleasant, friendly and very accommodating. It’s not a posh hotel, but a great value for the money.

The "breakfast" was basically a Twinkie and coffee. The rooms were clean and surprisingly quiet for being right by the freeway. We liked the suite because it fit our rooming needs. The hot and cold on the tub were reversed from the signage, which is dangerous. The second bathroom had tub and toilet, but no sink. There was a sink in the next room in the kitchen area.

6 min drive from LEGOLAND. Staff was nice, rooms were very spacious. No complaints

The staff all were amazing, from house keeping to front desk management, they all act like they really like there job and it showed in there work and how they treat people, I was very impressed with all the employees. As far as the rooms, NO dressers! did not understand that at all. And the freeway is so loud you did not need alarm to wake you and sometimes it was hard to go to sleep.

The room was nicely renovated. Nice beds and furniture. Since the rooms are spacious, other furniture pieces would help with storage or other seating such as small ottomans and perhaps a clothing hook for the restroom for towels or clothing garments would help. Overall pleasant stay.

Bedroom faces freeway

Stay was fine but i would shy from being excited about a "free continental breakfast" as you only get 1 item & only 1 flavor or choice of that 1 item. Its a pastry from costco. Thats it. Thats the breakfast. The beds/matresses are spring. They are crazzzzy uncomfortable. The bathroom had no fan or ventilation & it was hot in there & so humid! Otherwise it was very clean.

Quick overnight in our way up the coast. This was a simple hotel and a good bargain. Beds were comfy and room was spacious. Smoke detector in our room kept going off from about 3am to 6am. It was isolated To our bedroom and it would have been a nightmare to wake all the kids up to move rooms, but not sure why they are relying on battery smoke detectors and not hard wired ones.

The hotel was nice and clean and the hotel was far enough away from the busy parts of Carlsbad to be relaxing but convenient to access the 5. The only downside was the hotel walls were paper thin. We heard every argument, every tv show, crying baby, etc. That neighboring rooms had. We stayed a week so we experienced a lot. We also were downstairs and the whole room shook when people walked upstairs. Excellent the nights we had no neighbors, the nights we did were rough.

First off I read that this was near the freeway which normally isn't a deal breaker but holy cow it was so noisy all night long and our room was near the back. We barely slept. Glad we only stayed one night. There were also people slamming doors at 2am and talking super loud. The only good thing is the room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable but the pillows are terrible and like sleeping on bricks. If you dont mind noise then this is a decent place to stay. Bring your own pillow and ear plugs. The mattress was awful! It was an old spring box with a half inch pad on top of it. Very uncomfortable. Comforter looked really old and needs to be replaced.

Noisy. Shower rod wasn't clean and the curtain wasn't low enough, so water from showet would soak bathroom floor. I nearly slipped on floor as a result. My biggest issue was with some of the staff. One was disrespectful of sleeping customers, her chatting through the night close to my room. And the person I checked in with seemed irritated that I made last minute reservations, saying that he barely had time to get it ready (I checked in at 4pm). The room smelled heavily of chemicals (smelled like bleach) when I checked-in that I had to open the window and leave for a few hours in hope that the room would air out enough. It gave me an instant headache. Not my idea of a fun evening when I was already tired when I arrived. I stayed 3 nights and didn't get much sleep during that time due to the noise. On a good note the bed was comfortable enough.

Hotel is basic but very clean and the desk was super friendly and helpful allowing us to stay in our room while we waited for our other room to become available.

The staff was friendly and check-in was fast.

My partner and I have been visiting this location for a little over a year. We visit frequently due to work, and had formed some nice connections with some of the staff there, or so we thought. We have never had an issue in the past year. On Friday March 21st we were due to check in for another work trip when we were notified at approximately 7:00pm that we were not welcome to come to the hotel. There were several days before our trip they could have notified us about any issue or even early that day well before the check in time, which is at 3:00pm. We traveled from LA to Carlsbad only to find out that we had nowhere to stay around 7pm. We tried asking why we were no longer welcome, especially since we have had no issues in the past. We weren’t given any information, other than the orders came straight from owners Serena and Sila not the site manager. This not only left us with having to find last minute accommodations, but extremely frustrating because we received no reason and are yet to receive any answers as to why this happened. Over the past year and a half of us visiting the Carlsbad location we encountered several issues including: discrimination from a house keeper who’s name is Lupe. She would follow us around the hotel and go in our room even if we had the “Do not Disturb” sign on the door. We

Very friendly manager who checked me in. Room was a bit sterile but clean and everything worked great. Vons supermarket is across the road so very convenient but not many restaraunts around. Area is a bit sketchy with homeless and other rifraf but right off the freeway which was convenient.

Stay here often but recently it’s gotten noisier in the hallways and the mattress and pillows are getting lumpy. Close enough to city center and beach by car.

Great location

Really solid for an inexpensive hotel located very near the beach. Clean rooms, recently updated, easy check-in, pool. Perfect for a place where you just need to put your stuff down while you're enjoying all that SoCal has to offer. Cons were minor: the "breakfast area" was really just a counter in the lobby with coffee and some prepackaged snacks, and the hotel is located right next to the freeway. Overall, however, it was a great bang for the buck and I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed for 4 nights at the carlsbad days inn. Property is conveniently situated near the freeway, however, this in turn, makes it quite noisy, all day long. The staff are really friendly, and the property/ rooms are clean and well maintained. The area felt safe and secure. Its only a 5 to 6 minute drive to carlsbad village. Dining estalishments are limited near the property, as are public transport facilities. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would like to say thankyou to all at the Carlsbad days inn.

The hotel was next to the freeway, so it was pretty noisy.

EZ location right off the freeway, and not too far from Carlsbad Village.

The hotel is clean and within walking distance to a beautiful beach. But it’s right next to a very busy highway. A lot of noise.

It is so close to the freeway that the noise from the traffic is deafening. I can even hear it from my room that is in back of Motel. The rooms are tired. It was described as being near beaches and the village… certainly not if you are walking. It took me nearly 25 minutes to walk to beach. It is in a very unappealing noisy location. I will never stay here again, nor will I ever recommend it to anyone.

The noise from the highway is very loud, even with the windows closed it sounded like it was open. The fixtures in the rooms were damaged or out dated. It would seem that it changed management recently and they are doing things very cheaply now. 1) There is NO breakfast as shown in the hotels photos. (Orange/apple juice was expired and tasted bitter, they only had (one) type of pre-wrapped bun with chocolate) The main breakfast room was permanently closed and re purposed for the managements livings space. We asked about this and were informed that it was no longer available, they substituted the front desk were you check in for the new breakfast station. 2) Noise is very loud from the outside highway. (Even with the windows closed, also the door had a 1-1/2 gap beneath it which let in lots of air) 3) The room was very dusty and the AC smelled like mildew and mold. 4) Additionally, there was a rather unfriendly person that was always in the breakfast room that made it very uncomfortable. The room smelled like rotten fish and the staff was doing nothing about it. (The person that was constantly in the lobby each morning was sleeping outside the door at night, they weren’t a guest of the hotel). Overall, I don’t recommend this hotel if you want something that is safe/clean/and with a breakfast.

Everything is good, but the breakfast is a joke

The room was clean. The only drawback is the motel is right next to the freeway. Luckily the a/c blocks out the noise. But the complimentary breakfast was a twinkie, coffee and juice.

Continental breakfast is not included- they will give you old chocolate croissants and and juice

The first morning I had to return to lobby, no coffee had been made. Ten minute wait. Second morning, no coffee and no attendant visible.

Customer service was excellent. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Hotel would have been 5 stars except online it said breakfast included and that was not the case. There was no breakfast
