Just passing thru. I was glad to find this place last minute.. love the cleanliness and they thought of everything. Outlets next the beds! Step stools for small children. Comfy beds and also both King Size! Their breakfast buffet was amazing! They have underground parking, which was a must for us. Just overall will put this place on my list.

Well designed small hotel on a little property with a gas station and a restaurant (closed) and a little park across the street. It’s away from the more crowed areas. The pool is nice large not heated. And there’s a large hot tub. Also they have lifts for disable guests to be able to swim. I thought that was great. It’s a 15 minute walk plus a scramble to the beach. The breakfast was great! And they have a decent little gym. Plenty of parking.

Love the West Inn - clean, safe and the gas station/foodmart on location is clutch. Only thing is the hot tub didn't have working jets/bubbles. Other than that, great stay!

The staff were all so friendly. The beds were huge and comfortable. I love that they offered free breakfast in the morning and that they had laundry facilities on each end of the hallways. Would stay again.

The common area/lounge did not have any games or activities for families with kids to enjoy, lots of empty shelves and cabinets. The outdoor area needs to be updated including the uneven turf around the ping-pong table and the slotted fence where the ping-pong balls constantly fall through. There is lots of space to hang out however with plenty of comfortable seating. i would suggest bringing your own games and activities and you will have a great visit!

This property is beautiful! It smells nice and clean in the lobby, halls and rooms. The hotel is well maintained with beautiful green plants and flowers outdoors. The rooms are in excellent condition with everything you need (coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge, iron, large ironing board and two bathrobes). The beds was cozy and pillows were perfect. The bathroom is clean and has plenty of towels. Parking was easy to find even when arriving after 10, the neighborhood is very quiet and felt safe. There is a gas station that blends with hotel style located very close to the hotel and is very convenient. The drive to Legoland was so incredible easy from here. The staff was so friendly to our girls and made it so easy to feel comfortable. They give you cookies and milk every night from 8-9pm. The breakfast room is a little tight but the food was well cooked and tasty. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that plans to visit the area especially if you are going to Legoland. The room rate is very good, includes breakfast and parking for no additional charge.

Everything was good accept the cleanliness of the pool and jacuzzi. Both days we were there it was the same, thilthy! The pool was full of sand. The jacuzzi was a dirty green color. There were pool toy all thrown around. There was trash on the ground. And if that’s not enough, the pool was NOT HEATED!

The hotel was very clean & smelled nice throughout. Staff was very friendly. Even though the 5 Freeway was close, we didn't get any freeway noise. The room was quiet at night & the AC did not bother us at all. We would definitely consider staying there again!

The property was very dirty. Starting with the room. There was a sewage back up and was not cleaned properly. So when you used the sink you can still see the debris floating in the sink. When we told the front desk, she replied that it’s a common issue in older buildings SMH. Overall would not recommend staying here if you are bringing your family.

My partner and I stayed in both the signature and classic rooms at this hotel. The signature room was great but our classic room had many issues. It was on the first floor, smelled musty, didn't have any body wash, tv remote didn't work, thermostat was malfunctioning. We asked staff for body wash overnight and the staff was unhelpful. The absolute QUIETEST hotel we have EVER stayed in, and the place was full of kids! Same exit as LegoLand so we expected kids and it to be loud. We stayed for an entire week and never heard anything! Occasionally hear the train, but was muffled. Staff was incredibly friendly, and I mean all of them! Even just passing in the hallways or elevators, they would great you and smile. Just not what we expected. Pool heater was not working, but the weather permitted cooler water anyway. Beach was just a couple blocks down the road. Carlsbad village is 2 miles down the road. Outlets are just as close. Close to everything, yet nestled in an oddly quiet corner next to the freeway that we never heard. Will absolutely stay here again. Oh and the cost was so incredibly reasonable compared to what was available in the area at the time I booked. Bravo!

Rooms are nice. Ac blows great ans the 2 King size beds are awesome! Most hotels unfortunately have queens or smaller and this place has 2 king that are very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was not so good.

Everything is so lovely at the West Inn, it’s so peaceful, the milk & cookies is a nice touch in the evening. Location is prime. The only thing is the wifi is real spotting, majority of the time, if that was fix then this could be the perfect hotel for you. I highly recommend this hotel

West Inn is always a priority for us when in Carlsbad. We like everything about it but the matress in the room assigned to us needs to be replaced. It has seen better days, it’s like a sinking boat. I thought they have changed the matresses since we saw a lot of new matresses last year in the covered Parking lot… maybe it’s still a work in progress.

Pretty nice place overall, but I had a serious problem with the A/C in my room quitting frequently. Didn't always get someone to work on fixing it in a timely manner, and I hate warm hotel rooms especially for sleeping. Other than that I enjoyed my stay.

The staff was great. Great customer service. Super helpful. Kind. They had cookies for our arrival and even handed the kids Lego toys for our stay. The continental breakfast was the best I have ever seen/had. It was like eating at a fast food breakfast spot, the staff was ready to clean up if anything spilled, to assist you if something ran out. They had fresh food and ready to go. They had a variety of stuff to choose from and fresh! So delicious! And every night for two hours they have a cookies and milk happy hour. So cool! Our kids, and ourselves, enjoyed that and looked forward to it. Fresh chocolate chip and other types of cookies with milk, water or coffee. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you!

Nice sized rooms . Friendly and polite staff at checkin.At checkout electric entrance door would not open. When I brought this to attention of the staff there was no investigation , no questions, no apology. She said just push it open. It was not easy. Clearly the door needed attention.

We stayed for two nights and the hotel was very clean and all areas smelled fresh, including our room. The lobby area is quite charming. Shaidell, at the front desk, was friendly and helpful. The breakfast is buffet style, but was fantastic with good choices. Loved using the waffle maker. Will definately stay here again and highly recommend.

Overall this place itself was a nice place to stay. But the people who work here are not nice. It made our stay less enjoyable. Breakfast was not good. If the customer service was better, and the food tasted more edible, I would give it 4/5. But because the front desk women was EXTREMELY rude and the food was AWFUL it’s a 2/5 for us. Will not be staying here again.

Train horn noise, and I had continuous niose from the bathroom toilet which I found the reason of the noise was due to lack of water filling level because the seal inside the tank wasn't sealing properly after flush. And that noise was loud enough to wake me up from sleep in the bed. I was able to go to sleep after putting on my ear buds with noise canceling. The place itself was in good location and all the staffs were extremely friendly.

What a lovely boutique hotel conveniently located right off the 5 freeway in beautiful Carlsbad. We check in late about 8:30 PM and were pleasantly surprised by the “cookies and milk” Happy Hour. The chocolate chip cookies were delicious and the cold milk “hit the spot” after a long day. The hotel has a cozy feeling and is a mix of old and new. Overall, friendly services and the buffet had so many food choices. We will be back!

Always a pleasure to stay here, convenient location close to 5 freeway with out being too close, short walk to the beach.the hotel itself is kinda tucked away which I absolutely love because it’s quiet and relaxing. The hotel building and grounds are beautiful, well maintained and clean. The staff - both front desk and housekeeping, were very helpful, kind and friendly. The breakfast room is comfortable and clean. That said, I would skip the breakfast option as sadly, it ranks as one of the worst hotel breakfast we have ever had. The questionable scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes were cold and tasteless. Yogurt was sugary sweet and the oatmeal was runny. The bananas and oranges were fine thankfully. However, the staff was attentive and friendly.

We loved the proximity to Legoland, the beach and also to Carlsbad downtown that offers very nice places for dinner and lunch. The included breakfast is horrible! Other than that we enjoyed our stay very much.
