Room were recently updated and adequate. Exterior extremely run down. Needs lots of work Handicap access terrible even in breakfast room. Also with elevator from garage to room floors intermittently not functional day and night. Had multiple issues with a handicap person and extremely frustrating especially late at night. Bottom line is the price of the room for a 4-night stay was not worth the experience, issues and frustrations we had to deal with. The current management at this location has had the property only 4-days and doing everything they could in a positive manner. But the facility condition on turn over to them put them behind the 8-ball before they could even get out of the gate. Pulling their hair out trying the best they can and we’re extremely helpful. We wish them luck.

Great parking not too far from anything. Little disappointed that the pool wasn't working but then we didn't get back from dinner in time anyways so it didn't affect us my dream just sit in the spa was my fault not theirs

Across the street from wide beach. Have to drive to find any food. Nothing but motels and condos along PCH here. Nice uncrowded beach though, and hot tub was nice.

Great hotel across from the beach. Hot breakfast, clean rooms that seem a bit larger than most. Parking can be a challenge as the underground lot is a bit small. We would definitely stay here again!

Amazing location. Across from the beach. Nice views. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast fresh with great views. Our fridge would not get could which is an issue for meds, they came up and fixed it in no time. With a friendly smile even. Underground parking a huge plus.

Wonderful full breakfast was provided. Quaint building with multiple sitting areas to enjoy the view of the beach and waves. The train went by a few times, but it didn’t disturb us. The king size bed room was very spacious. Great location near the bridge to cross the street to get to the beach. Free parking was an extra bonus.

Nice, but older, facility. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Average breakfast. Wish the room windows had blackout shades as porch light (no switch) keeps room lighter than I need for good sleep. Liked that they had a 220 volt Tesla charger in underground carport with no extra fee.

The location of the property is great and had convenient access to the beach. We couldn’t enjoy our balcony due to the amount of ants. There were also ants in our bathroom and around the sink. We had trouble connecting to the WiFi and when we asked for assistance, staff could not help.

Room was large and clean. It was very noisy 2 out of the 3 nights we stayed. No blackout curtains. Maid kept taking all the towels that didn’t need to be changed and leaving us without towels and we had to then ask for towels to be replaced both days. Complimentary breakfast was good and parking also good.

We had a room overlooking the ocean. Although the room faced Hwy 1, it was quiet at night. We could see the sunset from our room. The hotel is located near Dana Point Harbor so it was easy to find good restaurants. The staff and management are accommodating and helpful. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean. The hotel was undergoing renovations during our stay so it was understandable that the some of the outside areas were not as tidy. We enjoyed out stay and would return.

The floor was so dirty that when we took a shower the shower floor turned black. Reported this to the manager First night and the problem still occurred. On our day of departure after three days there was urine in the stairwell.

Definitely disappointed in a few specific things. The room had a very strong mildew odor which made my head and throat hurt. Walking around in socks or bare feet resulted in the bottoms of our feet/socks becoming really dirty, showing that the floor really wasn’t clean. The mattress was ok but saggy and squeaky. And the thermostat was pretty difficult to use. On the positive side, the price was good during the off season, staff was very helpful and kind and the breakfast was pretty good. We were definitely satisfied with those items but we won’t be staying there again.

We had stayed at a different hotel for four days prior to our stay here. Although it was on the ocean and had a beautiful view, it was old And outdated. The service was not great. We were pleasantly surprised when we had our last night. Stay here. It was clean. It was updated. The breakfast was wonderful. The staff was amazing. We will be coming back here anytime we are in the SoCal area.

This is the second time that I stayed here. It’s a shabby beach hotel but it’s ok. The rooms were pretty clean but run down. Our door was damaged from being kicked in. My imagination was going wild with what might have happened. Our curtain was broken and hung down. There was a missing knob on the bathroom vanity. But it’s across the street from the beach and you can’t beat that. All this being said. I’ll stay there again.

We've stayed here every year for over 10 years for a business trip. The hotel has been updated. I guess it is ok... it is very stark, no carpeting, no pictures on the wall... super bright lights over the bed, no side table lamps. Felt super cold. Bed was pretty comfortable. Probably won't stay here again.

Stayed in the newly remodeled "Hot tub" suite. It says "ocean view", but this is not true. The only way to see the ocean is to stand behind the entry door and look way off to the side. You have a view of only the shingles of the roof of the building in front from this room. The staff were excellent, the place was clean, the price was right. It\'s a bit of a walk to get to the beach from the hotel, it is located on the other side of the highway and train tracks.

Great stay. Not a luxury hotel , but I wasn’t there for luxury. Room was VERY spacious with a vaulted ceiling, nice updated hvac system and very good lighting. The bed was comfortable enough. I liked that it had hard floor instead of carpeting! Breakfast was quite good. The seating area was very small, but they had tables outside too . The staff were extremely friendly and helpful .

This is a nice place to stay. The beds were extremely comfortable. The ocean view was lovely. I had a nice run to the beach from the hotel. Very easy to access. The neighbors above is were noisy at all hours. The internet was intermittent too which is frustrating. I’m not in love with the parking situation there. If you have a taller vehicle (like us) pray you get a space near the entrance!

The room was basic but as expected. Very nice view of the ocean and sunset, but the PCH and the Pacific Surfliner train are right outside the window as well. In the daytime there is a lot of traffic noise, but it wasn't bad at night. A few trains went by - no horn noise at least. The people at the front desk were very pleasant and accommodating. The bathroom was the tiniest I have ever seen. Smaller than a stall of a public restroom, and more like a restroom on an airplane.

We booked a room expecting a balcony with an ocean view. No such luck. We got a room in the back of the complex with no view other than the courtyard. Very disappointed. The volume on the TV didn’t work, the bed frame was sticking out (wife ran into it twice) , and there were ants. The lady checking us in was sweet but sooooo slow. The manager fixed the bed and the TV , but nothing could be done about the room. The free breakfast was meh! We will not be returning.

Amazing stay. The hotel was so beautiful and clean! The staff was exceptional! So friendly! We got there an hour before check in and they had no problem with it, had our room ready for us. Great hotel. Great staff. Lovely family that owns it. Wasn't crazy about the location as you have to drive to go anywhere. Breakfast was great. Only complaint beds were bot really comfortable and pillows were hard.

We had an amazing stay. The room was immaculately clean. Looked like it was just redone with fresh everything. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and even upgraded our room to an ocean view at no cost to us. The included breakfast was adequate like most hotel breakfast items I’ve seen at previous breakfast included hotels. We were able to cross over a bridge and be right on the beach within minutes. Free parking and easy access to PCH highway. Overall was great and I’d so stay here again when visiting. A+ for friendly staff. 👍😊

My girlfriend and Istayed at the property in a King sized room that had a view of the ocean from the third floor. Convenient on site parking, friendly staff, and was perfect for us. We had a great time at the beach that was right across the street and used the hotel as a base of operation while we visited the surrounding parts of California.

the only complaint i have is the pictures basically show your sitting on the beach if you go out the patio. this place is across a VERY busy street. you do have a beautiful ocean view. and there is a balcony. but is no where near the sand. was expecting to sleep with the door open and hear the waves. that was NOT an option.

The gentleman that checked us in was very nice and the hotel looked nice on the outside but the room, although it was large, was sparsely furnished and strongly smelled like smoke. There were trsin tracks right across the highway that we were not aware of with trains running very often. Pretty noisy. The view of the ocean and sunset were definitely the highlights of this hotel.

Our room was clean and quiet but had an odor of mildew. That’s possibly because the hotel is right on the ocean but still unpleasant. The bed was good just a little saggy. The breakfast was very good. Our last morning, we had to leave very early before breakfast opened. We asked about their offered “to go breakfast” but two of the office staff didn’t seem to understand what we were talking about. We ended up just leaving without any breakfast rather than trying to get some food.

This Best Western Plus was not as welcoming a facility as their website suggests. It is somewhat aged, confining, and the parking is all under the structure and confined. Their breakfast was traditional and nothing out of the ordinary. The staff was particularly helpful. We would not return..
