Overall a decent stay. Staff was kind and accommodating - the night clerk was so kind as to offer to help us carry up our tote cart since there is no elevator on premises. Our room was clean and quiet. The left side of the platform bed was actually broken, and so when my husband (average sized) laid down on it the bed gave way in the middle. This must be a two partition platform bed because my side was fine and, from the right side of the mattress, I was noticeably higher than him when I laid down. It wasn’t so terrible so he decided to stick with it, and he slept okay (we were exhausted), but it should be repaired (Room 213). Also, for those for whom breakfast is important: there are only high sugar options for breakfast - pancakes, pastries, cereals (all high sugar options). That was a bit of a disappointment (no protein except the little found in flavored/sugary yogurts). I didn’t see any boiled eggs, which would have been a reasonable protein option. If you want a breakfast that will hold you longer than a sugar high provides, you will want to make other arrangements.

Though the hotel claimed to have remodeled. We’ve found the facility is still a little bit off. For instance, the the bottom facet of a shower tub leaks when you try to take a shower. The HVAC system makes very loud noise when it’s activated at night. But there is one thing this hotel stands out, i.e., it offers free charging for EV.

It's right across from the river-walk and is directly adjacent to the Comfort Inn but there aren't many food options. You'll need a car for that. I chose this hotel because they had a Tesla "supercharger" and free breakfast. All things considered, if they are same price, Comfort inn next door is a nicer hotel with better breakfast offerings, plus a pool and spa (neither of which was in working order at the time of this review in May 2023.) And the Tesla Charger isn't a supercharger. It's very low energy and charges at 14 MPH, so you'll have to leave it plugged in overnight. Thankfully, there wasn't a problem with that. Also, no elevator, so you'll have to walk up to the second floor with all your stuff if you get an upstairs unit. Also, website says pet friendly, but the paperwork you sign when you get there says no pets except service dogs. The breakfast was really bad. There were a few apples and and apple & orange juice dispenser for fruit, an automatic pancake maker, a cereal bar and regular yoplait yogurt. Sugary pastries. No non dairy creamer for your coffee. There really wasn't anything healthy but oatmeal, and even that was sugary packets. And it was expensive. Over 400$ for 2 nights. You would think they could afford a better breakfast.

I booked the 3 queen suite about a year in advance since we had 6 people traveling at the time of booking. In that year I became disabled with mobility issues. I received the check in confirmation via text 24 hours before check in asking for any special requests- I typed bottom for or by elevator due to being disabled. I received a confirmation email saying all was well. I go to check in after driving 12 hours for the front desk to say they have no available 3 bed units on the bottom floor. I said I could take 2 beds since 2 people did not end up joining us. She said there was nothing available on the bottom floor after. So really it had nothing to do with the 3 beds. Plus no luggage cart for disabled guests is just ridiculous. Definitely learned my lesson on waiting for the text confirmation to make requests. My suggestion would be if you can't accommodate your guests when they make requests, you should call them so they can make arrangements to stay elsewhere. I have a cane and a walker. The room in general was clean and comfortable.

When I call the hotel directly to make a reservation they wanted to charge me over $400 for two nights. The price on hotels.com was only a couple hundred dollars. The bed was broken and was very hard to sleep on

Everything was great except for the door to the shower and toilet area would not stay close, making it very uncomfortable having to "hold the door off" while you sat and did your business...yes, could have closed the door, but that made it claustrophobic. A simple adjustment of the door hinges would solve the problem...thanks

The bathroom toilet was leaking alot in Rm 212. There was a constant puddle at the bathroom door. Since we were only there for one night and the motel was completely booked with no other room to move to, we just put towels down on the floor to soak up the water. Not thrilled with the small square pillows for sleeping. Not sure why they opted for these instead of standard sized rectangular pillows. My head kept falling off the pillows. Did not sleep well.

Our stay was perfect except that the air conditioner kept turning off. Never figured that one out and should have asked at the front desk. The room was very clean and neat, the amenities were very good, the pre-check in and check-in was very fast, and the staff were very friendly. We felt safe there and it was a convenient location.

The staff was really outstanding. I left my iPad in the room and we took off on the road. I did not know that it was left behind. The management took the initiative to phone me and let me know that I forgot jt. I requested that they ship it to my next destination. They followed the instructions perfectly, and I received it on time. Very much appreciated.!

M the room was really clean and comfortable. I upgraded to a King and did not receive the upgrade. The remote on the TV did not work and the internet password was unavailable. I received a text to respond through text for any help. The text was replied to quickly saying they would fix our issues. I never received another text. So no internet and no TV. Disappointing for sure.

We stayed one night. Our last night of our road trip. Perfect for a night's sleep but there's nothing around to explore. There's a restaurant within walking distance and a small park. But if all you need is sleep then it works. Staff was friendly. Room was clean. Bed was not the most comfortable but for one night it was fine. Breakfast was very minimal, good for a little snack before getting on the road again.

Fortuna is quiet and mellow and very close to the Redwoods. A much better choice than larger areas nearby. It's next door to a microbrewery restaurant that we didn't have time to enjoy on this visit but was definitely a plus. The hotel staff was delightful and helpful and had many recommendations for things to see in the area.
