Best Western Plus South Bay Hotel

everything is fine, but laundry only one machine, and not workable, time limited for laundry machine

First room allocated smelled musty and we were moved to the second floor. Coffee machine in lobby was out of action for two days and the gymnasium for one. Breakfast with a hot option was ok. Property interior looked a little dated.

The property was great and we enjoyed our stay. However, the A/C in our room was very loud and the A/C in the gym was broken.

The property was clean inside and outside. Entrance to rooms is in the inside of the hotel. Breakfast, pool and laundry are available but I didn’t use either. Housekeeping is on demand. Located about 15 mins from LAX without traffic. Reception could be friendlier. There’s no airport transfer even though the bus was parked on property.

My husband and me have stayed at this property in the exact same room last year. We were in an accessible room on the first floor right next to the ice and vending machines. Last year, the DirecTV was terrible. Kept skipping because it didn't connect to satellite very well. This year, we stayed in the same exact room. The problem was even worse than last year. This time, at least we could watch movies on Demand. This time around the bathroom smelled just like wet dog. Horrible. We needed to use the computer to print out some things for an event. Printer didn't work because toner needed to be changed. When my husband asked the front desk for toner. He was told they didn't have any, but provided an address at the front desk so we could forward the email to them to print out for us. The young man at the front desk just smiled and waved when we complained about the service, printer, and smell. Fine. But our experiences of this year and last solidified it for us. WE WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN!!! There are just too many other hotels that we feel might provide a better stay for us.

Could not use the hot tub becuz it was out of service. Very limited space to sit in the dining area.

Proprty was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast space was a bit small for amount of guests. Laundry area was out of service.

No problems except the coffee machine I loved in the lobby broke down the last day i was there. If you have more then one rental car keep in mind that you get one pass per room for free, I didnt notice that on the website, but i wasn't looking for it either since it says free parking. They have limited spaces but they were very accommodating and gave us two passes without charge.

Quiet and clean!

The staff at the front desk were amazing. They greeted me with a smile and was happy to be of assistance. The staff were very professional, took care of all of my concerns, answered every question I asked and assisted me whenever necessary. The cleaning staff was very courteous and always greeted with a smile. The bedroom and bathroom was clean. The room was very spacious. It came with a nice size mini fridge and microwave. I will most likely choose this hotel again. I hope they will consider more vegan breakfast options.

We booked this hotel 1 day before our flight back as it was not too far away from the airport. The positive experience was that parking is free. You only have to inform the reception and they give you a sign which you put in your car. The check in was uncomplicated. Conclusion: For 1 night, it was OK, but I would not book this hotel for a longer stay. The emploeyees were friendly but not overeager. We got our room, which was big. But, as everywhere in the hotel, is smelled strange and chemical. We must open the window. There was a lot of dust in the room, especiall as I noted in the bathroom at the air conditioner. The cleaning was poor. Nevertheless, it was only 1 night, and we had a big TV and a freezer in the room. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was OK, typical American breakfast with toast, scrambled eggs etc. The scrambled eggs are not fresh but convenience food. Hard labels saying bathroom was sanitized, but found a dead cockroach on the bathroom counter. Initially I didn't it see it because it blended in with countertop.

Staff was friendly. But there were smells in room and hallway. We could not stand it. Although booked three nights, we checked out after staying one night.

Rooms should be renovated and very strong pesticides smell

Great location for traveling. Equal distance from LAX and concert venues. The only downside of this hotel, you can hear EVERYTHING above and on your floor. Walls are paper thin. If you are sound sensitive, this isn't the place for you.

Hôtel while had recent updates to flooring it was poorly installed the planks were popping and separating. They could do with a revamp on the door hinges the doors were heavy and slammed so adjacent rooms would wake you up. The first room we were checked into had no A/C and half the electrical did not work, lights and plugs. They wanted to send someone to fix it vs moving is we insisted on moving to a new room. Fridge in room was good, pool area while not large worked for us as nobody else was poolside when we were. Breakfast was toast, cereal, eggs, potatoes, sausage and BW waffles.

The stay was fine. The only issues are that There was a soft spot in the floor that i felt like i was going to fall into it, a few of the bathroom tiles were cracked, and the soap dispenser thats attached to the wall didnt dispense any soap (couldnt tell if it was empty or just broken). I did get woken up by the sound of a truck starting up and again by someone running a circular saw outside, so the windows seem to be thin compared to other hotels ive stayed in. Overall it wasnt terrible, I'll just give it time before i come back so hopefully they will repair and upgrade those issues i mentioned.

The staff were friendly, our room was clean, and the breakfast was excellent. The only reason we didn’t give five stars is because the taps in the bathroom and shower were in horrible condition, squeeked when turned and didn’t hold temperature.

We stayed for 5 nights to explore LA. Heaps of parking, area around hotel was safe. Heaps of dinner options and grocery store across the road. Walls are quite thin so we had a noisy person above our room. Free breakfast was great - cereal, toast, bagels, waffles, eggs and sausages/patties and seasoned potatoes.

Very nice stay, but the shower we kept running hot and cold.

Really enjoyed our stay there. Room was clean and comfortable. Location of hotel was well situated for our travel purposes. The only complaint was that we could hear our neighbors. (they were noisy at night) However this something the Hotel had any control over.

No staff at front desk at 4:30 am when neighbors decided to start playing their loud music and talking loudly again.

Hotel, room etc all good. But from first day (Sunday) internet was unstable. This continued on Monday and it interfered in my preparations for meetings in LA. I reported to front desk and was informed by Caesar they were aware and working on it. This continued and midday I cheeked again with reception. Still working on it. In afternoon still not working etc. etc. I informed the reception that if it didn't work properly when I returned from dinner that evening (Monday) I would leave Tuesday morning - 1 day earlier than booked. When I came back reception told me all fixed. On arrival in my room still cutting out several times per minute. I informed front desk and now he told me that maybe it was the room. Confirmed with him I would be leaving the next morning. Next morning I asked reception to give me a receipt confirming that I had been reporting the internet problems and he refused. In fact, his attitude became real poor and then accused me of being unruly. He also told me to deal with HOTELS.com for a refund for the prepaid night not going to be used. In short - the front desk staff really couldn't care less about the problem. BTW I have these internet outages recorded on video and pictures.

Customer service terrible. When we checked in we advised the front desk that we would be leaving early each day (5:30am) and we would miss the daily breakfast that went from 7-10, so would it be possible to grab a few of the liquid coffee creamers? No. Straight up answer, sorry we can’t help you, we don’t have a key to the breakfast room. “Well who does?” “No one.” No one?! “Well the manager does but that person is gone.” Well if we leave our room number can someone help us? No. So… The next day we asked again, different person, same response… basically too bad for us. ALL WE WANTED WERE A FEW MINI CREAMERS, and all we were told is sorry, too bad, we don’t have a key. Also the laundry room was closed due to a fire and the vending machine was broken. One of the worst Best Westerns I’ve stayed at. Won’t stay again.

Great overall customer service, and professionalism.

Staff was super helpful. I called the morning of my stay and asked about early check-in and was told I can check in at 12:30. We got there at Noon and a room was already available. Staff was always at the desk so we were able to get new towels and fix my room key. Was also able to do late checkout with ease. Breakfast was good. The room had a fridge and microwave which you dont see often and these appliance came in handy.

Front desk did not hold our bags for our late flight despite being senior citizens.

Picked hotel as we were flying into LAX at midnight. Previously contacted the hotel & we were able to check in late ( 1am). Check in was smooth, staff were excellent & professional. Plenty of free parking available. Room was spacious & clean. Bed was very comfortable, particularly after a long flight. Hotel was quiet. Breakfast included with well equipped small buffet style. Would recommend Best Western Plus South Bay Hotel.

Excellent hotel if you need a place close to the airport, about a US$35 cab/Uber ride (I did both and they were pretty much the same cost). Most food options available, safe area, pool was good and the breakfast was fine. Usual US standard - enough to go on with for the day. Room was clean, facilities looked clean and staff were very friendly. Transport at the door although if you wanted to go downtown, it’s about an hour plus and the beach is about 30 mins away. Lots of car parking.

Great location for beach stay. Close to a lot of restaurants and beaches.

Room decor is old; floor panels were popping up. Location was okay for stay near Sofi Stadium.

BW IS IN A GOOD LOCATION. DOLLAR TREE, SUPER MART, JACK IN BOX GAS STATION, LIQUOR STORE ALL WITH IN Walking distance.

The hotel met my needs. Area isn't fabulous but was safe. Breakfast is major plus at this facility. No hassle secure parking is another plus as well as easy access to highway. Easy access to a number of major attractions.

We stayed in this hotel for 6 nights! Breakfast was same thing every morning 7-10. My husband liked it a lot ( Egg scramble, potato, sausage, make your own waffle station! Coffee, tea, juice, oatmeal, cereal and milk, boiled egg & yogurt! Hotel is in a medium class neighborhood! If you are renting a car and going to attraction sites, It takes good 45min to hour each way to get to Hollywood, Santa Monica pier, Beverly Hills, sunset blvd area! Lots of close shopping center include Walmart and Costco and fast foods close by! Rooms are ok and have microwave and fridge! Rooms are little old looking and basic! YOU DO NOT GET AUTO ROOM MAKE OVER! You have to request room make over! Parking is free on site! Overal 3 star out of 5! Good luck!

Good location close to all areas we wanted to go to including airport. Was clean and comfortable. Amenities could use an upgrade. But overall was a good price for breakfast and parking being included

Location I think is the best, you can have a lot option around for anything you need.

Property has parking area with no charge for guests. Hotel included breakfast in the room price which was convenient. Hotel was close to LAX and the car rental company.

Location is great, safe, clean, near a lot shopping and dining options and only 15mins from the Airport and 20 minutes from Manhattan Beach

Rooms were clean & spacious, but terrible sound proofing. We could hear people next door very clearly & even when an alarm went off in the mornings from other guest rooms. Traffic was also quite loud, but I guess thats LA. Or just poor construction of the building itself. Breakfast was also not great. It was the same all 4 mornings of our stay, with the exception of the change from sausages to sausage patties.

For the price, it is ok. Breakfast never changed. Always the same. When we looked for fruits, only banana was available.

Very clean, front desk was personable, helpful. We would come back but rent a car next time. Felt safe in area nice kept pool.

Excellent hotel close to everything you need. Only thing is that the breakfast area can get pretty crowded at times.
