Stayed 2 nights

This is the first time I have reviewed a hotel online but felt compelled to do so. There is no daily cleaning service, so you don't get new towels or have the bed made. Apparently the sign in documents said that when I checked in. You know, one of the little boxes you check but don't read. However, this should be clear on the website before you make reservations. There was no local information guides inside the room, only in the lobby. The television is old (not a smart tv). No menu on it, so you have to scroll channels one by one to see if whatever is on is to your liking. And the screen was dark, like it was about to ascend into the great tv grave in the sky. And because the reception is slow (tv and wifi for phone), it takes a couple of seconds to even switch channels. I know it sounds trivial, but for $194 a night plus taxes and fees, you would think they could afford a $150 smart TV. The room was remodeled and nice, except the doors were old and chipped. The bed was comfortable. The exterior had nice new blue siding, but the stairs were old with broken pieces (a little hairy with an elderly cancer patient). The online exterior picture was skillfully crafted by a good photographer to make it look like there is more ambiance than there really is. The staff was very nice and the location is good. It was not an unpleasant stay, just not what I anticipated for the money. But then, it is Pacific Grove. Would I go back? Probably not.

Stayed 3 nights

Was not aware that a few feet from our patio were grave sites.this place is old and run down. Shower had a big hole where the shower head comes out. The outlets were cracked, there were spiders and bugs in the room. Everything was outdated and worn out. The house keepers delivered linens and towels in the back of someone’s trunk! We paid over $1000 for three nights, we left and went to the Marriott after the first night. Cannot believe this place has more than 1 star. Wasn’t able to get a refund because I booked through a 3rd party.
