Centrella Hotel, a Kirkwood Collection Hotel

Quaint hotel in Monterey. Could definitely use some upgrading to the common areas. We stayed in the willow suite which was nice but has a really bizarre layout [walk through bathroom]. The granola was definitely not homemade when we were there.

Cute room, great location, good breakfast although I had to ask for a breakfast parfait only after I discovered someone eating one and asked where that was. I was not informed that was available.

Just sad how bad this place has become. They advertise a tiny dirty plastic leather couch as a queen sofa bed for 2! The “breakfast” is a total joke with tiny muffins from the dollar store. Upcharges galore. The staff is annoying and can’t be bothered. Cannot recommend less.

Great simple breakfast. Parking spaces were limited but street parking relatively easy. Our room in the main building was small but cozy, however, carpet was old and musty. Bathroom towels could use an upgrade - they look tired & dingy. All and all staff were friendly & very accommodating during our stay.

We booked a 3 night stay in a Queen room upstairs. The decor and furnishings were nothing like as shown in the photos. Towels were stained & very old, as was the duvet cover & valance. Carpet extremely worn. Totally disappointed, we were looking forward to staying in a historic building. Wasted the best part of the afternoon unpacking then repacking to find somewhere else.
