My only harp is that the benches sit so far away from the fire pit (likely for safety) but you can’t move them, and it was cold trying to enjoy the fire. Hot tub and a big Parking is convenient located right in front of the doors to hotel rooms. Be cautious of the curbs when pulling away.

This little place is quaint and quiet! The property owners contacted us before arrival and gave us the code for the room. The hot tub was nice but on the cooler side, the temperature needs a good 5 degree increase. The firepit area was cute and stayed on for as long as you want! I will definitely be booking here again!

This facility was clean and had the necessary amenities. However the bed sits a little high for us shorter people and the in room coffee was not very good and rooms just a bit small. The staff was very accommodating. And property had added options that were nice( pool/ hot tub), small sitting courtyard and fire pit. Overall good place to stay

This is an interesting older property with rooms that have been beautifully restored. Property is quiet and we loved the jacuzzi!

Everyone was so nice and a great, quiet location for walking. Staff helped us store bicycles. So many great places to ride nearby including 17 mile drive to Pebble Beach. Even the other guests were friendly and nice! Enjoyed fire pit and hot tub on cool evenings.

Great rooms and wonderful, accommodating staff! Excellent location. The hot tub spa is awesome.

Fire pit was a nice option. Convenient free parking. Easy walk to the beach! Extra towels for the spa would’ve improved our stay but I would return.

We went for two nights, the first room was so ridiculously small. One chair and barely any room for anything, no where to put our suitcase. The people next door had a barking dog and had their TV on all night, seriously all night. There is no soundproofing. Rooms are very dated and tiles in the bathroom were all cracked, floors were NOT clean, hair on the bathroom floor. When I walked from the shower my feet were dirty, there is no carpet, just the fake wood floors. We asked to get a larger room and the front desk staff were seriously nice and sweet, we got a King room and it was larger, but the tub was all stained and the pull up knob to switch the water from the tub to the shower did not work, only about 50% of the water came through the shower head. The drain was blocked or something as the water did not drain so I was standing in 2 inches of water. All the trim around the tub was falling off. Bed was very saggy and hard. They had no fitted sheets but the sheet they used on the bottom was too small and did not tuck in so it moved around. The mattress cover elastic was broken so it too moved around. This room was hot as the large gas heater puts off heat even when turned off. It also did not work, the thermostat was broken. In general the rooms are very run down. For the price we paid we were disappointed and the rooms are very run down. The hot tub was nice. I will not stay here again.

Clean and quiet

Exceptionally clean, lovely location

The place is shabby and could use a deep clean and updating. We arrived at night. The light outside the room door was covered in spider webs and dead bugs. Inside, the kitchenette cabinets and countertop were newer, however, the appliances were dirty. A proportion of the microwave was melted and the cabinets above it were yellowed with grease. Some of the dishes inside the cabinets had dried bits of food still stuck on them. The mattresses and pillows were lumpy on both queen beds. There was sand on the floor of the window side of the beds. On the plus side, the bathroom was clean and the property was located in a good area.

Gentlemen at the front desk was friendly and hospitable. Room was clean and quiet. Our second stay here. We will definitely be back and recommend MPI.

We were expecting a 3 star hotel according to their listing on Expedia. Unfortunately it was more like a 2 star. The floors in the room were so dirty. We found the sink had t fully been cleaned inthe bathroom and

Nice place to stay. I would recommend that you mop or swifter the floors in between guests. Socks were black from dirt within 10 minutes. Definitely need new mattresses well in room I was in I could feel the springs in my back. Otherwise awesome staff is what made it great. Location and quietness of the area as well.

Bathroom was dirty. Toilet seat was stained and bath tub was not clean. I chose not to shower because of this and just waited until the next hotel on my road trip.

Property was good. The only thing that wasn’t working good is the wifi. It was inefficient.

No, very loud refrigerator

Super thin walls. Didn’t help that our neighbors were extra loud and were apparently working the night shift. Heater didn’t work (space heater did). The location is phenomenal, however. Wa liking distance to sone of the most beautiful beaches on the west coast.

PROPERTY DOES NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING!!!!!! I booked a room based on the cute cozy photos of the room but DO NOT BE FOOLED! Rooms are small musky and all is provided is a box fan that is louder than the damn TV. I couldn’t even stay because my wife has a sensitivity to heat and the hotel would not help me. Do not stay here, it sucks.

This is a great choice for an economy motel. The gentleman who greeted us was very nice and even got our room ready so we could check in early. We enjoyed the hot tub and didn't have a chance to use the fire pit, but there is a bone little place for your use. Our queen room was small but sufficient. There's no room for a table and chairs, but they do provide 2 chairs. This is the beach, so there isn't any air conditioning, but they do provide a box fan and there's a wall heater for when it's cold. We had a very noisy, squealing bathroom fan that wasn't seperate from the light so when you turned the light on it was on too, wick was really annoying. Hopefully they will fix that. But our main problem was that the bed was really uncomfortable for us. We are in our 50s and don't fare well on stiff beds, so 3 nights was rough for us. They have nice refrigerators that include a mini freezer and they have coffee makers and microwaves. If you want walking distance to the beach and places to eat (Lucy's has great hot dogs), this is perfect though. They welcome dogs. We didn't bring ours this time, but we were able to visit with so many so we didn't miss ours quite so much. If they replaced the mattresses, it would be the perfect little place for us.

The pros: room was clean, plenty of hot water. That’s where it ends. The cons: room was tiny, very hard mattress (I’ve camped and slept on air mattresses that were way more comfortable), pillows felt like a brick, barely any housekeeping, bathroom and shower could not be any smaller, no closet or anywhere to store your luggage (we had to put it back in the car).

No AC and room was Over 81 degrees when we went in. Solution is a fan, not great. Had to run it all night. Room was nice enough, somewhat dated Price per overall quality was the biggest issue

I guess it’s my fault for not checking properly, I just have never stayed at a motel or hotel without air conditioning. It was about 68 degrees outside but when we got into our room, the thermostat read 81 degrees. I thought by paying a little bit more for a room in the are, we would get a little more.

All was great except for the WiFi which was a disaster. One bar IF you stood next to the window. I thought I’d be able to relax, while still conducting business, but the WiFi issues made that impossible.

Terrible because I had an emergency and Expedia said Hotel was going to charge me one charge to cancel. I case if an emergency I feel Hotel should have refunded all nights. I even cancelled before arriving. They could have booked rooms.

The front desk Lady stayed over for us as we got caught in traffic. The next day she even cleaned the bird poop off of my car. She made us feel like we were her own family and I will definitely come back because of her hospitality. Also did I mention they have the cutest corgi for security? This place was amazing and I recommend this place over any others.

Annette, Michael and staff made me feel at home—they went the extra mile in any way I needed. I stayed for a week as its location was perfect for frequent walks to see the sunset at Asilomar coast. I plan to return on my next visit to see my family who live in Pacific Grove.

Drove 7 hours in the rain for a track meet. Arrived to a dark, locked office. Called the after hours phone and was forced to leave a message. Called three more times and left three more messages. I even called the main line. Nothing. It is now 11:30 at night. I called Expedia who also tried to get a hold of the night manager with no avail. I was forced to take my child and I to another hotel. Just hoping that they'll refund me my money. It's now 12: 54 pm the next day and I still have not received a phone call back from the hotel.

Rude and unprofessional staff. Never experienced such service, stay away from this place at all cost. Front desk closes at 9pm so if you plan on checking in after that good luck! I left 2 urgent messages prior to our stay and never got a call back. Save your self the headache and go elsewhere!

The property is located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to beautiful walking paths as well as the cute downtown area of Pacific Grove.

Quaint, older motel in a great location walkable to ocean and downtown Pacific Grove. I'd definitely stay there again but keep in mind, if it's hot you will be uncomfortable because there doesn't seem to be any air conditioning- just fans!

Great family overnight stay. Close to the lighthouse, the beaches, downtown Pacifica grove, restaurants and shopping.

It was close to the ocean, to food and close by Monterey as well.

Several blocks away from central Pacific Grove, but close enough to catch the vibe. Next door to the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary, quiet and serene environment.

Well first, the location and the pictures do not seem to be the same. It's about 2 blocks from the water and there are no ocean views. Also, the office doesn't open until nine and they close pretty early.

Interestingly enough, since our stay was during off peak days (Mon-Tue nights) we were the only guests at the hotel. We had the whole place to ourselves. So that was really nice. One of the reasons we picked the Monterey Peninsula Inn was for it's location and the hot tub, which we enjoyed both nights. The room we had does show it's age, but it was comfortable enough. Probably the only gripe would be the insufficient packet of coffee for the coffee maker, which is the kind that makes a liquid that I wouldn't really define as coffee, pretty much I guess what you can expect from most hotel coffee, but I think it's time that hotels in general tried to provide something that's actually appetizing. So bring your own coffee and filter, which is something we will probably do from now on. They do have coffee in their lobby which is better. The staff was also very friendly. So we had a great stay.

They don’t have a free breakfast! Very very poor coffee in room. Their solution is to have good coffee in the office hotel open until 9 AM. More charges if you use your credit card.

If you are looking for a bed to sleep in, the 2 “bedroom” suite is it. The double bed in the suite room was ok, not great. The barn doors for the bathroom wasn’t that pleasing. We couldn’t find any tissue paper. The coffee packets in room were terrible and the complimentary coffee in the lobby wasn’t available until 9am which was frustrating since we get up earlier for coffee. The grounds are nice and it is in a quiet neighborhood.

Nice, Clean room. No Breakfast. Room was basic and useful for overnight or 2 night stay. Recommended.

Delightful service. Nice hot tub. Very comfortable king size bed. We did not see an ocean view while there but we got great night sleep and got excellent restaurant recos. We had a good breakfast at Toasties (photo fro bkfast restaurant not far away)

Coffee may as well not be provided in room. Its from yesteryear. Not sure why we cant have single cup k-cup machine in room in 2024. Turn bathroom light on and fan is louder than an auto factory floor. If you just need a place to sleep, go for it. But i expected a little more from a place in such a nice area. Wont repeat.

Would go there again! Great for our 2 pets too. Loved the inbuilt fire place, made the stay feel warm and cozy during Dec time. Good parking space. Made our breakfast there. Overall a great experience.
