I believe the front desk in any business sets the tone for one's assessment of that business. That being said, the registration desk person(man) was not only rude, but very indifferent, absolutely didn't want to be there. The 3 times that I interacted with them was anything but pleasant. Generally speaking, most Californians tend to be rude and crude and arrogant. This trip and general experience proved to be correct.. One of the many reasons that I don't come here. The room was okay. The floors were sticky from too much Fabulosa mopping. The rooms were dated. It reflected that 80's feel worth days couch, tables and need. I had to run the water for quite awhile before it became hot and then it became very hot. By the way, the internet was very slow. The staff was indifferent as well. At breakfast, I asked for milk and the lady said that because it was past 930 am, she could not serve anything any more. I repeated that it was just milk for my cereal. She said no and apologized. I will come back here again.

Our stay was okay overall. The property appeared clean, but it is definitely showing its age. One concern was that the security latch on our room door was broken. I'm not sure whether it had been damaged by someone trying to break before our stay or broken accidentally, but it was noticeable. There were also a few maintenance and housekeeping issues. The body wash dispenser in the shower was completely empty, which I unfortunately didn't discover until I was already in the shower. Additionally, the bathtub drained very slowly, so water accumulated around your feet while showering. The rooms mini fridge was also pretty loud. The staff were acceptable, but they were not nearly as friendly or welcoming as some of the other reviews had led me to expect. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. There were only two hot breakfast options available, with the main difference being either hash browns or pancakes. I tried the pancakes and found them to be quite poor. There was no bacon offered, and the pastries tasted stale. My daughter barely touched her breakfast. Since we only stayed one night, these issues were manageable. However, if we had been staying longer, I would have been much more disappointed with the overall experience.

Check in was later than expected, because our room (and many other guests' rooms) was not yet ready upon check in time. We were able to swim while we waited, which was enjoyable. Note that the pool was salt water for anyone intereted and, per the signs, you cannot have any food or drink in the pool area. (We were able to sit outside the pool gates to have a bite/drink while we waited for the room though.) You could occasionally hear people outside talking or the airplanes, but otherwise all was good with the room. There are a few hotels on this block and there was a restaurant we walked to that turned out to be slow for early dinner ... but very good food. The free breakfast was good too! And there was lots of parking!
