The Dao House is a great place to stay for access to local mountain trials like Long’s Peak and Mount Alice/Wild Basin Trailhead. Be aware there is no fell service in the area and WiFi is spotty at best, but the rooms had a great balcony that was relaxing to watch local wildlife. There is also a shared breakfast area with a microwave, toaster oven, mini fridge/freezer, and a selection of food including energy bars, peanut butter and jelly, bread, and tortillas. I found this very useful for days we were hitting the trail extremely early.

This is not your typical property in Estes Park. The rooms do not have a TV, so if you’re traveling with kids, that could be an issue if you’re winding down and need some entertainment to keep them quiet. The rooms also have no microwave or fridge like your standard rooms do at other properties. We didn’t see any staff onsite after 5:00pm. (They may have been available but we didn’t see anyone) The staff arrives at 8:00am. So if you need anything such as towels, toilet paper, etc. be sure to get it before they leave for the day. The staff were very friendly and accommodating when they were there. The location of the property was very quiet and tucked away from the town of Estes Park and maybe 10-15 minutes from the west entrance of RMNP. There is no cell service at this property and WiFi is extremely limited. Streaming videos is impossible. They did warn us of this after we had already booked and was headed to CO. Thankfully our kids are teenagers, it might be a problem with smaller kiddos now days. The inside of the lobby was very open. They had an oxygen room available (didn’t use it so unsure of that), no continental breakfast, but they had coffee available. This property had a large Buddha statute in the foyer. They were focused on mind and body, connecting as one.

The staff was friendly and helpful. I needed to shorten my stay by one day and they helped me get a refund. I'd book here again.

The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. However, the parking area was pretty chewed up and if they put on the website that there was no TV we didn’t see it. The Wi-Fi did not support streaming and cut in and out. We OKgot no housekeeping on our two days stay. We also had a balcony, but the lock would not open. We also did not pursue this so part of that’s on us. On the upside, the bed was clean and comfortable & the bathroom was small, but lovely. Reasonably accessible to Rocky Mountain national Park.
