Staying at this property was a unique experience; as a nostalgic motel. The theme is done nicely! The flashing neon sign @ night was cool👍 A lot of TLC has been put into the remodel of this vintage motel! Extra special touches were the bicycles available and the hot tub! The front desk staff was professional and friendly. It is a small room but has everything needed for a night’s stay. Clean and comfortable! Thank you!

So … for the night’s sleep, it was sufficient. Bed was comfortable, linens were clean. Parking was close to the door. There were a number of amenities that were either sub-par or out-of-service … i.e… the washer was out-of-service in the laundry, which didn’t really matter, because I wasn’t paying the $10/load it required. There was a laundromat 4-5 blocks away that was nice. The ice machine was the “scoop” type, which means every scoop raked the back of someone’s hairy, sweaty hand into the next person’s scoop. The shower head was broken, as was the microwave handle. No one came to the front desk when we were turning in our key, so we couldn’t mention it. HOWEVER … knowing what we know now, we would still have stayed the night. It was a bargain, cheapest in town for a last minute booking. You get what you pay for.

The day time staff was one of the rudest I have ever experienced. We had to ask to open the hot tub. She gave my husband a hard time a out it telling us opening up the hot tub encouraged late checkout. We were staying for two days! She then gave us a hard time again when she finally unlocked it telling us she wouldn't open it again. We switched hotels because if the sheer rudeness and lack of ability to use the one amenity they offered. I guess you get what you pay for 😞!

I also appreciated that shampoo/conditioner/etc. were provided but in an environmentally-friendly way. Perfect place to rest to fuel our outdoor adventures.

Hey this was a quirky little hotel in Salida Co. Bare bones and 65 dollars a night. So you get a 65 dollar hotel. Shower, King bed and a great TV. And a outdoor hot tub! Clean place and friendly people. 4 nights.

i have reasonable standards for an inexpensive hotel, however this was subpar. the first room we were given was not cleaned, bedding, towels and takeout all over. next room was made up, but still grubby. toliet felt like it was about to tip over, shower was too dirty to use. musty and moldy smells, lots of bugs in the room.

Checked in at 5pm and the counter person said they had to go check the room to make sure it was ready. Upon check in I quickly dropped off my bag and didn’t inspect the room myself, which was a mistake. Came back after 9pm and discovered just how filthy the room was. I took my shoes off promptly once I returned and saw the floor was very dirty. Then I discovered that the bedding was also very dirty as well. I tried to look past it since it was late, I was tired, and it was a budget motel. But once I got a couple of bug bites from under the covers, I put some towels down and moved to the floor with my sleeping bag. The next morning I saw a dirty used wash cloth hanging next to the shower curtain. Also I struggled to get the door to close all he way and skeptical that it locked properly. Very unhappy, very unpleasant stay. I checked out at 6:30 so wasn’t able to address this with the staff.

I have stayed at the Circle R before and had a good experience. This time was very different. The deadbolt on my door wouldn't lock. I didn't feel safe knowing that anyone with the combination code could enter my room. When I asked for a refund the front desk told me she needed to talk to management. I also sent management an email and never heard back. Also the heating barely worked. They had space heaters in the rooms because they were aware that the heating was "inadequate." How can you ethically rent out hotel rooms without adequate heating in the winter?! My family's room next door also had black mold on the bathroom ceiling. I ended up leaving and getting a room down the road. It was a very stressful experience and management is unresponsive.

The price was good, but I still expected to have hot water in the bathroom sink and shower. It was ice cold. Also, the maid did not clean the toilet. There was urine all over the rim, as well as a large brown stain in the bowl. Just fyi.

This motel is truly a dive. There were bugs crawling on the furniture and there was mold in the bathroom. The floor was dirty enough to make my white socks brown. My neighbor had to ask me to borrow toilet paper at 7:30 am because there was nobody at the front desk.

It’s not as nice as the pictures would leave you to believe. Rooms are very small. Don’t expect to use the bicycles they claim to have. There are two locked up out front but some guy we asked said they were not operational. One or two nights but anything longer spend the extra money and go across the street to the Comfort Inn.

The walls were paper thin. I could hear every word spoken by the neighbors on both sides. One of the neighbors was arguing with family all night and all morning. The shower is in working condition however it's not installed well. It's very makeshift. I did not want to use it. The shower floor was warped very bad as well.

Check in was easy. Room was clean. The AC situation was not good. AC was located in the bathroom window. Room stayed fairly warm all eveningand night. TV was small and overly difficult to work. For the price it was fine.

This is a very old motel. It isn't the prettiest, but it works. I couldn't get the tv to work in room 8, but I was too tired to care. The walls are a little thin. I could hear the guy next door coming in and out of his place. I also heard the heard vehicles driving up and down the road. I found out the next morning that a few guys were having a mini car show of their "fast and furious" crappy little cars with no mufflers. Thankfully it didn't last all night.

One of the least expensive places at the time. Typical older motel. Was ok. Bathroom way outdated and had rings in tub from maybe decades of lack of good cleaning. Some mechanical noise in wall all night... And thin walls. Bed was ok

Mattress seems played out (Really no support), particularly when paying +$100/night PLUS $20 pet fee. Room was clean and otherwise in good condition. I appreciate an extension cord with lots of plugs.

Our room was uncomfortably hot. We found ourselves to be in the room as little as possible in hope that the room would be cooled down returning. The room only had a small window AC unit. We also had other family staying here with us and theirs was also hot but when they went to our room they agreed that our room was miserably hot. Not good to stay in the middle of July. When we had finally realized that the room was never ever going to cool down, the front desk had been closed for the night. Just too hot.

Check in was more complicated than necessary because we were arriving AFTER their 9:30 closing. They did send a text, but we did not receive it until after we arrived. We called on the phone to get our room information and I thought the woman on the phone was less than friendly, especially considering I was driving Hwy. 5o at the end of an 18 hour drive! The next morning, the office was supposed to open at 8, but it didn't open. The attendant told us there was an emergency. So communication was limited. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable which was the most important feature.

I have stayed at the Circle R before and had a good experience. This time was very different. The deadbolt on my door wouldn't lock. I didn't feel safe knowing that anyone with the combination code could enter my room. When I asked for a refund the front desk told me she needed to talk to management. I also sent management an email and never heard back. Also the heating barely worked. They had space heaters in the rooms because they were aware that the heating was "inadequate." How can you ethically rent out hotel rooms without adequate heating in the winter?! My family's room next door also had black mold on the bathroom ceiling. I ended up leaving and getting a room down the road. It was a very stressful experience and management is unresponsive.

Helpfulness of Dillon/Dylan initially, then Tammy (name?) at check-in, then Dillon again at check-out. I had to switch to the room next door because of some equipment failure but that was no big deal. It was quiet, comfortable, convenient and reasonably priced.

Perfect for a quick stay. Easy to get anywhere on US 50 or a quick 1.5 mile trip to downtown salida. Rooms were nice and clean and the staff was very friendly. They even have a hiker box!

Stayed here a number of times over the years. Location is really convenient right on the main Rainbow Blvd thoroughfare with easy access to downtown Salida, several dining options, short drive to Walmart & a nice basecamp for hiking/climbing in the lower Sawatch Range. Will stay here again!

Great, centralized location to safely lay your head in between adventures. Amenities are very basic but the facility is a perfect staging area. Meeting other guests in between their adventures is fun also. HVAC didn’t work but adjusted with another clothing layer at night. Best thing: there’s ALWAYS a view! And, sitting outside of your room in their little chairs to breathe in the air before starting the day.

We had a lovely stay at the Circle R Motel in Salida, CO. The room was clean and the decor was fun, like the outside of motel. Very mid 50’s feel. We had a refrigerator and coffee maker in our room. Very clean. Close to downtown Salida.

Front staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. Locks on door require a code, so I felt more safe. If you are looking for a quick stay over…it’s a good place to stay overnight. I would not recommend more than one day because amenities such as a continental breakfast are not offered. It was so-so clean and the room is not a relaxing place to unwind. Out of 5 stars, I’d give it a 2 overall.

Have stayed here before and always excellent. Economical and just right, the people on the phone and in person at check in are simply amazing. I always look forward to staying when I'm not camping in the area. Cozy quaint nice clean and great night's sleep. Easy and convenient to get to a variety of restaurants along 50 and little further walk or short drive to downtown.

I have stayed here before, and it's a cool place, but it needs a good sprucing up. Not sure I would go back until they get this done -- there are other options in the area. No breakfast, the hot tub area needs to be cleaned up, and it needs some TLC.

Upon arrival, there was no one in the office, only a note that said to text when ready to check in. Texted the number, no response, texted again, no answer. We stayed at the Circle R a few times, and this was an absolute bummer of an overnight. Challenge to check-in that took over 30 min. Room was clean but over 80 degrees. A/C was obviously broke. Finally cooled the room down by midnight. Slept for a few hours and was out by 7am. Not again.

Salida is amazing and the Hotel was on ok value. Wifi was spotty, which made TV spotty. Other than that, really nice room and a great location.
