This property is an older facility remodeled. It was clean and quiet. The staff was very accommodating . We needed sleeping spaces for a group and they provided. Pool was immaculate. Hot tub was cleaned while we were there so it was also clean. Good place to stay while visiting the area.

We booked this place FOR the hot tub and the pool. So we got there, I checked and I felt like I was disturbing the person at the front desk and she kind gave me attitude. But we got our room and we got ready for hot tub and pool. The hot tub had a wasps nest by it so I could not enjoy that. So we went to the pool, swam for a bit and then noticed a dead squirrel at the bottom of the pool. We immediately got out and showered up. I went to the front desk with some trepidation since I was not treated well at check in and told her about the issues. She blankly looked at me and said she will put it on the maintenance list. And that was that, not even an apology or show ofnconcern. I checked the next morning, squirrel was gone but I doubt the pool was shocked or re-chlorinated and the hornets were never dealt with. So, we could not use the amenities we booked it for. Would really like some sort of compensation but given the attitude I got from the beginning , I doubt I will

Property seemed understaffed. One draw was the pool and hot tub. Both were gated and locked. We could not locate a staff member to unlock in a reasonable timeframe. Upon checkout, there was no staff at the front desk. The drop sign indicated our bill would be mailed to us. We are still waiting.

When we booked the room, it was based on images presented to us by both their website as well as the Expedia site. The room we were in was nowhere what we'd expected. While the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were nice, I felt that the facility was a bit misrepresentative of their rooms. The only truly difficult issue was the parking. Between how other patrons chose to park and just too small of spots for pickup trucks, etc., parking was a significant challenge.

Room felt dirty; the plates in the kitchenette had not been cleaned (visible grease and food residue) and the bathroom didn't have a working fan. There was condensation running down the walls after every shower. Floors were dirty. Very run down. We stay in Salida quite often and won't stay here again.

Our stay was so great! Comfy bed, nice clean room, great water pressure and the water was hot no matter what time of day. Staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely staying there again when we come back to visit!

You couldn’t see you legs when sitting down in hot tub, bathroom Murrow was dirty, the sheets has a dirty marks, bathroom towel had a hole in it, carpet smelled like wet dog when wet, the cottage did not have paper towels or kitchen towels, it smelled of propane at night. and the shower faucet was loose. The front door of the actual hotel wouldn’t close.

Our work crew stayed at your property from June 30 to July 3, 2025. Unfortunately, they experienced bed bug activity during their stay but did not report it at the time. This issue only came to our attention today, when we rebooked the same hotel for the same crew for a stay scheduled July 8th–11th, 2025. Upon learning that they were scheduled to return, the crew informed us of the previous bed bug problem and provided photos showing live bugs and unsanitary bedding conditions from their earlier stay. As a result, the crew has refused to check in again, citing legitimate health concerns and the risk of carrying bed bugs home or to other job sites. Despite the fact that this new reservation has not been used—and was canceled due to unsafe conditions—the hotel has refused to issue a refund for the July 8th–11th stay. This is unacceptable given the situation and the photographic evidence (attached) that was provided by our crew to Frank at the front desk.

The floors in the rooms are disgusting take out the old carpet!! There is a broken transition strip from the fake wood floors to the crummy carpet, trip and fall hazard. My feet were black from walking without shoes!! Also the hide a bed is all busted up, so it didn't pull out and set up correctly. Staff or a guest at some point tried to fix it with the throw pillows from the couch lol didn't work. This place needs TLC and some paint, as well as a real thorough cleaning throughout.

I don’t typically write bad reviews because I understand how detrimental they can be. That said, this property was filthy inside and out. Dirty, greasy, stained walls, stained carpet and stained ceiling, black crumbs of some sort in the bed - we left immediately.

Clean spacious rooms, but if you book the triple room with a balcony, you should know that the balcony off the end of your room is a public use smoking area and expect to have plenty of people on the balcony smoking weed at any given time day and night so opening your windows is not an option

I'll just make it easy to read and do pros/cons list. I would stay here again. Pros: Excellent location; easy in/easy out. Near restaurants and stores. Our TV worked great and had a nice selection of channels to choose from. Sooo many times, that isn't the case. On that note, the refrigerator also worked great; again, so many times that isn't the case. The room had a Keurig coffee maker, with K cups included. It was quiet. The wi-fi worked flawlessly. Although we didn't use them, there was an outdoor pool and hot tub. It was well lit at night. The ice machine worked great. The continental breakfast was well-stocked. The mattress was in good shape. I"m sure I've missed some things. Cons: You can't check in until 4pm. Check out is 10 am. That seems late/early. Big wad of hair in the bathtub drain; slow draining tub and sink. They were kind enough to offer switching rooms, but it wasn't worth that trouble for all involved. The heater/air conditioner unit didn't work that well; slow to heat and slow to cool. Sure could have used some touch-up paint by front door and bathroom door; that goes a long way in making for a clean appearance. The room was not well lit, even with all the lights on. Opening up the curtains helped, but then you lose your privacy. Thanks!!

Very cute. The room had nice sleep set up with 2 queens and a twin pullout bed. But the pullout was soooo uncomfortable. The springs were mostly broken and the mattress was a 3 inch foam. The in room temp controller didn’t work. It was so hot. But, it was affordable and clean!

Had a great stay. Our late-night arrival and late checkout were accommodated. The room was clean and cozy, yet spacious. The bed and pillows were very comfy (although my fiancé thought the bed was a little soft for his liking). Great value for the price.

I decided to take a road trip at the last minute to Buena Vista CO. I stayed one night and decided I'd like to visit Salida CO instead which is only 25 minutes further. I decided to stay at the Salida Inn & Monarch Suites. It appears I made the right choice. The staff was fantastic. From check-in until the time I left. I wasn't feeling well and the heat in my original room wasn't working correctly so a staff member helped me move my stuff to a new room which worked out great. The next day I decided to stay another night and again staff was very accommodating and assisted me for another night. The room I was in was spoken for so they set me up with yet another room. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I would come back here in a heartbeat.

I would not stay here again . I was great by the lady at the desk with a sour attitude . She did not know the answer to stipple questions . When asked where my room was I was told around back ! Other questions were not answered . My room shower did not work very well , hot water followed by cold water , matrices needed to be replaced. Door to bathroom warped. Could not close . No curtin on the bathroom windows . It let in a tun of light in the morning and woke you up . I feel like I threw my money away ! For the price I paid which was very expensive I expeded a room that was working properly .
I would not stay here again . I was great by the lady at the desk with a sour attitude . She did not know the answer to stipple questions . When asked where my room was I was told around back ! Other questions were not answered . My room shower did not work very well , hot water followed by cold water , matrices needed to be replaced. Door to bathroom warped. Could not close . No curtin on the bathroom windows . It let in a tun of light in the morning and woke you up . I feel like I threw my money away ! For the price I paid which was very expensive I expeded a room that was working properly .

We booked this place FOR the hot tub and the pool. So we got there, I checked and I felt like I was disturbing the person at the front desk and she kind gave me attitude. But we got our room and we got ready for hot tub and pool. The hot tub had a wasps nest by it so I could not enjoy that. So we went to the pool, swam for a bit and then noticed a dead squirrel at the bottom of the pool. We immediately got out and showered up. I went to the front desk with some trepidation since I was not treated well at check in and told her about the issues. She blankly looked at me and said she will put it on the maintenance list. And that was that, not even an apology or show ofnconcern. I checked the next morning, squirrel was gone but I doubt the pool was shocked or re-chlorinated and the hornets were never dealt with. So, we could not use the amenities we booked it for. Would really like some sort of compensation but given the attitude I got from the beginning , I doubt I will

Property seemed understaffed. One draw was the pool and hot tub. Both were gated and locked. We could not locate a staff member to unlock in a reasonable timeframe. Upon checkout, there was no staff at the front desk. The drop sign indicated our bill would be mailed to us. We are still waiting.

The staff was amazing very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious. Pull out couch was comfortable for one of my teenagers. Pool was perfect for cooling down very clean multiple towels available for users. Hot tub was great temperature. enough room for about seven people. Continental breakfast had great choices. Coffee was amazing. Designated smoking areas for smokers like me. Love the view in the smoking areas. Will definitely be back when staying in Salida.

No issues with this stay. The beds were comfortable. The fold out couch felt like a fold out couch. As to be expected. The pillows a little hard. The hot tub very chlorinated and the pool was warm. Felt great at night. The breakfast offered was small but got the job done. The staff exceptionally friendly. Overall we felt safe and would stay here again. (Also right next door to our rafting company that was also excellent. )

The motel is in a good location, just a few miles from downtown Salida. The lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful and they are dog-friendly and affordable, which is why we selected it. The property is a little run down - dirty carpets on the exterior walkways and the lawn out front was mostly dry weeds (and only place to walk the dog). The room itself seemed very clean, but seemed “cheap” because of the thin and stained carpets, the old/cheap/scratched/broken furniture - like random pieces found in a thrift store - and the ridiculously noisy laminate floor in the sink/“kitchenette” area. Sleeping here was difficult: the mattress and pillows were hard and uncomfortable and the a/c was either too cold when it ran (but quiet) or the room was too stuffy if the a/c wasn’t running. We actually bought a small fan at Walmart just to have some air flow at night. Fortunately, the bathroom/shower was clean and updated - the nicest thing about the room. I know this sounds like a really negative review, but maybe I’m being over-critical. The property did have a pool/hot tub (we didn’t see it or use it, but a nice feature) and in a pinch, we would stay here again. If the owner would invest in a few improvements (furniture/mattresses/flooring), this could be a great place.

This was a good little stop for my hubby, daughter, son and I. It’s right off the main road but there’s a Walmart nearby if anything is needed. The pool and hot tub were nice. The room was a good size for four people. The only issue was the AC splitter unit could not keep the room cool. We all didn’t sleep very well due to it being so warm. We tried the turbo setting the front desk recommended when asked but didn’t make much difference. The best part was being next door to the Salida River Adventure company. Very handy to leave our car and personal things in the room and walk next door for our whitewater rafting trip which was our main event for our vacation. Overall not bad for a roadside family spot.

We had a great stay as a family of 3. Check-in was easy and stayed in room 203. The views were stunning from anywhere on property and the room was quiet. My husband had the best night’s sleep of our vacation so far. We picnicked by the hot tub and took in the mountain air. Breakfast was quick and we were happy to have bagels and cinnamon raisin bread. Make sure and enjoy a cup of coffee before you head out for the day. It’s fantastic.

It was a quant place to stay. The pictures they show are of the few cute units in the back. Most of the units are set up in motel fashion, all next to each other in the same building. There was a good grassy area to take the dog to. The unit was clean and tidy. But the windows are older with the screens decaying some. Our windows faced the street which was pretty noisy because it's the main street through town. I'm not used to staying at smaller business motel. But it was well ran. The only complaint I have is that there's was not fresh food for the breakfast, meaning, nothing is cooked that morning. No eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, or pancakes. There were plain bagels, raisin bread, packaged muffins, individual boxes of cereal, yogurt and packaged boiled eggs in the fridge. No fruit either.
