Hotel Duval, Autograph Collection

Be aware that they charge $36 + tax a night for valet, and this is the only option. Air conditioner is loud. Carpet ripped and paint spatter on the baseboards. No soap in bathroom. Housekeeping took out old towels but did non complete any other services. This is an autograph/marriott hotel and they didn’t offer any options for pillow firmness. Valet was never organized and/or available. We often had to go searching. Shula’s is the best thing this hotel had going for them. Stayed in a double bedroom, one best was too soft and the other too hard. Only 1 outlet worked in the room. They spray the room with an overwhelming perfume that did not go away our entire stay. The complimentary cookies were a plus. Would not stay there again, especially for the price. Choose a hotel on Apalachee parkway for cheaper and better accommodations.

Hotel was under repair, I feel if a hotel is under repair it should be closed, dust and noise will effect ones stay

Good hotel, good location. the parking is quite expensive so I was disappointed in that.

Very dated property, needs extensive facelift. Front desk always empty, no one answers the calls. The valet is 36$ a night which is outrageous for the city it is in, not to mention that every time you try to use to phone to summon the car it forces you to tip the valet with a minimum allowable of 5$. The name Autógrafo should be removed from this property. Marriott should be ashamed of being associated with such a property.

Use of the Swimming pool was nice after a long day of driving

Nice hotel , but I didn’t love the condition of the room ! The carpet didn’t appear very clean and smelled of humidity and the air condition was very loud and I don’t like valet parking only !

Check-in was okay, and the valet service was excellent — very prompt and professional. However, our overall stay was disappointing. We requested towels twice and never received them. Eventually, we had to go down to the front desk ourselves to get them. Our room was not cleaned during our stay, and the TV did not work properly — it kept cutting off. When we reported it to the front desk, the staff said there wasn’t much they could do, though they did contact the engineer. The overall cleanliness of the room was acceptable, but one of the elevators was out of order, which was inconvenient. Considering these issues, our experience did not meet expectations, especially for the price and reputation of the hotel.

The property, room in particular was a bit run down. Shower door bottom area wasn’t clean.

We came in and our beds were not made the rug at bath was soaked wet, they had given us a room that was never inspected and not cleaned. The cleaning lady had left an note saying “God bless you”. Another employee mentioned she had been gone for two days. They switched our room and never cleaned it on first days stay. They charged $50 daily for car valet. Because of the the room switch they charged us twice for incidentals at $300 a pop because they believed we had two rooms. Management needs to do better at being able to manage employees to run a tight ship and provide a quality stay.

Bathrooms were dirty and drain walls throughout just over all not clean

Unfortunately, upon checking in, I discovered the room was not properly cleaned. This included oily rings on the nightstand, hair in the sink and later figured out the grout or sealant from the shower floor was flaking off the floor on your feet. The bed sinks in the middle and rhe pillows were super thin. As you walk down the halls you can see dusty vents crooked scones. Management has struggled to maintain this hotel.

To start, the staff at Hotel Duval are fabulous! Very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is WAY overpriced for what it is. Our first room smelled horrendous. It smelled as if the carpet had been wet and mildew had sunk in. We moved rooms and the next room was better but still had an odor. The knob on the bathroom sink continually fell off and the sink didn’t drain well.

Upon entering my room, I was hit with the smell of mold. It actually smelled like cat urine as well. I immediately called the front desk to tell them and request a different room. They had nothing available. They offered to send a maintenance man who came up and sprayed a room freshener. I called around for a different hotel and everything was booked solid. My clothes were damp in the morning, bedding was damp and carpet. I spoke to the front desk person and requested a different room and she said she would check if anything else was available. I came back to the hotel several hours later and was told that management went into my room and approved a room change. I moved all my things and went to the new room. Again, very moldy smell without the cat urine smell. Their air conditioning units need to be changed, carpet ripped up and flooring installed. I won’t be back. Valet parking only at 37 dollars per night. The restaurant on site is extremely pricey and not worth it.

Mold issues. Surprised Marriott is aligned to this and Expedia. They have a mold issue.

The location of the hotel was great for what we wanted to do in the area. The staff and service were all excellent. The hotel itself was nice and the rooftop lounge and patio were excellent. Our room, however, had issues. It was damp and mildew smelling and when you walked into the room the carpet felt damp. The room was also noisy when we were trying to get some sleep, with sirens going off from the fire station nearby periodically during the night.

The room was nice except it had an odd smell. The bathroom did not have much privacy because the glass doors did not close all the way. It would have been fine if it was just my husband & I but our son was staying with us. We loved the rooftop bar, the front desk & valet staff!

It was a nice hotel. The staff was excellent. I guess we shared the hotel with a wedding party. They were super loud late in to the night. I highly recommend getting a room on the back side of the hotel away from the street. The road noise was quite substantial.

Add $35 to park a car for a night. Trailer park standard AC unit sounded like a tractor, and the street noise was excessive.

We stayed at the Duval Hotel for our son’s Graduation. The location was perfect and with in a 15 min walk to the graduation hall, it’s better to walk than to UBER because of traffic. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The room and hotel were very clean and upon check in you’re greeted with an array of fresh baked cookies that permeate the front desk. We were a little bit surprise to find a queen bed in our room, but in fairness it was comfortable, but for the price we expected a king. The only draw back was the bathroom, all though modern with sliding frosted glass panels for walls it provide little privacy even for a couple. Our room was probably better suited for a single traveler. Room 606. The hotel has an attached Shula steak house, which was convenient. That said, it was very expensive and nothing special, you get a better meal at the Texas road house, the service was excellent however. It just felt like the food quality was lacking for the price. We would definitely stay at this hotel again and will recommend it.

The hotel itself was nice. My only complaint was the size of the bed. My husband and I are average size people and we did not fit comfortably in the full size bed. Mattress was uncomfortable too. We felt each others movement.

The hotel was ok. They charge a lot for parking, and there is no bathroom privacy.

This hotel is old and in need of a renovation. Rooms are dark and humid. Bed sheets are rough and the bed is uncomfortable.

We stayed in a room facing Monroe St (room 205). I couldn't sleep at night because of the street noise when vehicles traveled north and south along the corridor. It felt as if we were sleeping outside. It appears that the window and/or AC opening for the air conditioning unit need to be better insulated. Also, the bathroom is outdated, and the faucet is not centered with the sink, causing water to go everywhere when using the sink. The shower area is very dark with a mirror inside- it needs to be updated. Another concern is the glass panel wall, which divides the bathroom from the bedroom, giving no privacy when using the bathroom. I would consider reconfiguring the bathroom layout to provide a more pleasant experience for all future guests.

My stay at Hotel Duval was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the incredibly friendly and efficient valet workers who made the check-in process seamless. Their professionalism and attentiveness set the tone for the entire stay.The front desk employees were equally impressive—warm, welcoming, and eager to assist with any request. They provided excellent recommendations and made me feel right at home.The rooms were spotless and spacious, offering the perfect blend of comfort and style. I had everything I needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. I highly recommend Hotel Duval and can’t wait to return!

Awful stay. Didn’t have our room we requested with two beds then we had to separate into 2 different rooms. The second night they gave us a new room with 2 beds for us to arrive to the room that had people in it. Gave us a new room and almost opened the door and a guy walked up saying his daughter was sleeping in there so we had to go to the desk again to find a new room. Awful, never again!!!!!

Excellent service. Valet, front desk, all staff very professional and friendly. Breakfast is very good 👌. I recommend it.

Top notch customer service! We had a couple special request and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with our stay! The manager gave us some great recommendations for local breakfast! The hotel was very clean, welcoming and smelled amazing!

Terrible noise on the street side. I thought the window was open at first. The location and the rest of the property is great. Something needs to be done to reduce the street noise. I’m not even a light sleeper.

Felt upscale but it was also fine to have my two year old with me. Favorite part was walkability to the downtown area.

Very nice hotel. One complaint is rain head shower. It has no water pressure. Could literally get more water in the actual rain! But the breakfast omelet and grits were some of the best I've had! Very nice staff and quick service.

Our stay was excellent…from check-in to check-out. The rooftop bar was great. Leroy for breakfast was delicious. We did not have the chance to eat at Shula’s. Every single employee at the hotel we encountered was friendly. We will stay here again when we come back to visit our daughter at FSU.

My husband and I had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was excellent

The property was good for the most part. Check-in was a breeze and they even offer cookies starting at 3 PM!! The cookies are delicious! The green smoothie at the hotel Starbucks cafe is also phenomenal. The staff was great as well. From, the Starbucks Café staff, to the valet, to the front desk. Everyone was great! I will say it is an older hotel that seems to have been kept up very well. but there are a few things that I have qualms with within the room itself. The first being the shower. It had a rain shower-head that could not be adjusted, which was very annoying, but not the worst thing in the world. The bad part, however, was the smell of the bathroom itself, which came from the shower drain. It smelt as if the drain had not been cleaned for some time and it only amplified the bad smell when you took a hot shower. Moreover, there was a small cushion chair in my queen room that could use a steam clean. And it had multiple stains on it that made me uncomfortable to even consider sitting on it. Lastly, the towels can also be cleaned a bit better as to ensure that all previous user hair is fully removed. Outside of these things, it was a fairly good experience! The rooftop bar is very nice and a great place to work during the day and so is the Cafe. I’d also note that the rooms came with a steamer instead of an iron. but when I call the front desk and ask for one, they were amazing in quickly accommodating me and bringing an iron and a ironing table directly to my door.

Noisy room and tv cable didn’t work. Starsbuck cafe gave off old croissant. Shulas’restaurant was the only thing we enjoyed.

Not clean to expectations. I have allergies to spices and at the restaurant they declined to serve any food . No food for allergic guests ?
