This hotel was a beautiful surprise to be found in Des Moines. A mountain lodge in the city lol. I was really sad to hear the hot tub was down, and had been for months. I was not informed before hand. The room was nice though the carpet was really run down and stained. The toilet would not flush unless you stood there and held the handle till it was empty. With the minor inconveniences, the staff was amazing! so kind and prompt. The breakfast had a little of everything that made it easy to feed too picky kiddos and mom/dad.

I was in town for a baseball tournament and had stayed at Wildwood a couple years ago for the same reason. Wildwood was just as great then as it was this stay. Staff were very friendly and very patient during the busy breakfasts. Actually, the guests getting breakfast were pretty chill, too. And there were quite a few folks taking advantage of the free breakfast. :) The rooms are a little dated but my room was clean and in pretty good overall condition. Overall I’d definitely stay here again next year.

We always choose Wildwood Lodge when we come to Des Moines. Everyone is very cheerful and helpful. The Lodge is well located to easily get to anywhere in the Metro area you want to go. The breakfast selection is very good and the hot food is always hot. We love it!
